We visited this pubs with friends yesterday with 4 dogs who were very well behaved, the welcome was warm and friendly and pub lovely and cozy. Our order was taken quickly and food served promptly. The food was great quality, quantity and value for money, would recommend

Myself and my partner found this place by chance. The Sunday lunch was incredibly nice and well cooked, great value for money. I think the only small negative bit was that the place looked a little tired inside with broken uncomfortable furniture and old carpets. The food did take a while to arrive but to be honest none of the above mattered because the food really was that good! I’ll be back to try the Punjabi items on the menu soon!

Stayed here overnight whilst attending an event locally. Hosts could not be more accommodating especially as we had to amend our dates and leave earlier than expected. Lovely traditional pub with friendly locals. Good selection of beers and wine and the food was just yummy. Wish we had been able to stay longer if only for more food from the menu. The dinner we had on Saturday evening was full of flavour and very well presented. Although we went to bed full we were still looking forward to breakfast and that didn't disappoint either. Beautiful ingredients cooked perfectly. Bedroom was so very cosy, comfortable and warm and we had an excellent night's sleep. Can't wait for a return visit in June. Thanks to all involved in making it a lovely short stay.

After calling in for late afternoon drinks, we booked a table in restaurant for a Friday evening meal. I would recommend their Spring Ale for beer drinkers accompanied by their home made pork scratching. In May Friday night dinners are half price. The food and service were excellent and the dining room has tables well spread out so conversation is easy. The place combines the quaint ancient pub with a modern and nicely decorated dining room.

We have just had a Sunday roast and it was fantastic.. we have been all over locally for a good Sunday roast and always seem disappointed. Lovely staff, amazing food! Really couldn’t recommend more highly. Friends have eaten in the week and the lunch time menu is also very good. We will be back next weekend!

Good points - Service was spot on, Lady behind bar superb, other staff excellent Not so good points -. I am afraid however the mothers day menu left much to be desired. Sirloin steaks were the thinnest I have ever seen, tasty yes, but served with a few whole Brussel sprouts ( Really ) and chunky chips, some combination. The chicken curry was spicy and again tasty but was Luke warm. Lamb shank excellent, Prawns very tasty. Starters were good. I just wondered why you didn't just provided your superb carvery on the day. I will be back to sample your menu, in due course - but when Fathers Day comes, it would be nice to have the option.
