we had an amazing visit to Barnsdale gardens today! I'm honored to award Barndale a maximum triple yum (yumyumyum) score for some very yummy scones, warmed up and supplied with a generous serving of cream and jam. the staff were great, and gardens amazing. a beautiful experience for our group. thank you Team Barndsdale!

What a lovely dog friendly cafe/restaurant. The food was great and the staff just so friendly. Two of us had the small breakfast and said it was very tasty with good quality ingredients. I had the sausage cibatta which was excellent and I just loved the seasoning in the sausage. Our Pups enjoyed the water and treats provided. The food and drinks were reasonably priced. The whole place has a lovely friendly warm feel to it. We can also recommend the mulled wine and hot apple and cinnamon drink. We will definetly be returning. Thank you to all at Radish.

Food was pretty good. I had the chicken and chips which was OK and my partner had the vegan wellington which was very good. Vegan options were limited (no starter or pudding and only one main) but was very tasty and well done. Staff were very friendly and great service. We stayed for the Thursday night pub quiz which was very good. Great vibes.

Enjoyed some lovely food here. We specifically visited here based on word of mouth for their selection of game choices. Some choices were not available, but given that the owners are moving, we weren’t surprised. The partridge was lovely and despite the hiccup with the venison croquette, that was lovely too. Such a big old building, it had a nice atmosphere. I could have done with taking a jumper though as those windows make it drafty! Shame we’re a bit late to the party to visit here, as I think it’s a great place.

We had a fabulous afternoon tea for 4 people. The food was delicious. Everything was so fresh - sandwiches, scones & an amazing selection of cakes. Free refills of tea & coffee available as well. We added a bottle of Prosecco as we were celebrating birthdays. Staff very friendly & nothing too much trouble. We pre booked the previous day.

“A royal disaster at the Kings Arms! Took the family out for what we hoped would be a hearty meal and instead got… well, a small sample size of a dinner! The much-anticipated muntjac main came out and looked more like an appetizer, served with all the grandeur of a bite-sized snack. When we politely asked the waitress if this was actually the main course, she snapped back with a cheery ‘Well, maybe you should eat before you come next time!’ Ah, the charm. Things only got weirder when the owner marched over, raised an eyebrow at us like we were some sort of Yelp/TripAdvisor/Google Review mafia, and kindly informed us, ‘You’d better not even think about leaving a review.’ Well, here we are, honoring her request… sort of. So, if you’re into dining experiences where you leave hungrier than you arrived and enjoy being mildly threatened, the Kings Arms is your kind of place!”

Absolutely fabulous A wonderful pub and restaurant the attention to detail is second to none!! Great choice of drinks and an extensive wine list. Food is phenomenal all cooked to order using fresh seasonal ingredients. We eat here on a regular basis and the quality of food and service experience never changes highly recommended but booking is essential. Probably one of our favourite places to eat .

We booked a table for 7.30pm 14th February for Valentines Night. I had a confirmation email from a lady called Jeanette, they confirmed they were looking forward to seeing us. We booked a taxi from Oakhm costing £15.50 each way only to find out on our arrival that The Noel at Whitwell was CLOSED!! Thank goodness Berridge Taxi's were so helpful and took us back to Oakham. I received no notification of this closure 😕 I would avoid this place!
