Lovely food and staff very friendly. A nice range of meals and drinks. Cakes were excellent too! Did try a local large and will be purchasing more!

We had the lunch for less. £28.50 offers a good choice of three courses in a delightful restaurant where service is excellent and food is superb. What more to you want from a restaurant? Been many times and the standard is always first class.

Enjoyed some lovely food here. We specifically visited here based on word of mouth for their selection of game choices. Some choices were not available, but given that the owners are moving, we weren’t surprised. The partridge was lovely and despite the hiccup with the venison croquette, that was lovely too. Such a big old building, it had a nice atmosphere. I could have done with taking a jumper though as those windows make it drafty! Shame we’re a bit late to the party to visit here, as I think it’s a great place.

We had such a lovely lunch at Hungry Birds Cafe in Oakham! The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, tasty, and clearly made with care. What really made it special for us was the Little Bird lunches for kids—such a great idea! My daughter loved hers, and the little sweet bags at the end were a genius touch (perfect for a bit of gentle bribery when needed!). The cafe itself has such a warm and cozy feel, and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. It’s one of those places where you instantly feel comfortable . We’ll definitely be back—highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxed, family-friendly spot with great food!

We had a fabulous afternoon tea for 4 people. The food was delicious. Everything was so fresh - sandwiches, scones & an amazing selection of cakes. Free refills of tea & coffee available as well. We added a bottle of Prosecco as we were celebrating birthdays. Staff very friendly & nothing too much trouble. We pre booked the previous day.

Our experience here initially started well, friendly young bartender checked us in, the room was nicely presented and lovely and clean. Decided to book a table for 7pm in the restaurant…. I’m currently sitting here typing this at 8.05pm, still without a single thing to eat, the couple beside us have waited 50 minutes for the soup starter to arrive. Now in a busy period that wouldn’t be a problem, there is only 4 people in the restaurant. To be honest this has now ruined what was promising to be a lovely experience. If you require me to book a table at 7pm and still haven’t served me anything to eat by an hour and 15 minutes ( currently) you need to get better staff. Frankly disappointing. The Coach House Inn you need to get yourselves together because your current standards just aren’t good enough. Now 8.15pm and still no food……..

“A royal disaster at the Kings Arms! Took the family out for what we hoped would be a hearty meal and instead got… well, a small sample size of a dinner! The much-anticipated muntjac main came out and looked more like an appetizer, served with all the grandeur of a bite-sized snack. When we politely asked the waitress if this was actually the main course, she snapped back with a cheery ‘Well, maybe you should eat before you come next time!’ Ah, the charm. Things only got weirder when the owner marched over, raised an eyebrow at us like we were some sort of Yelp/TripAdvisor/Google Review mafia, and kindly informed us, ‘You’d better not even think about leaving a review.’ Well, here we are, honoring her request… sort of. So, if you’re into dining experiences where you leave hungrier than you arrived and enjoy being mildly threatened, the Kings Arms is your kind of place!”

This pub has all the makings of a great place to dine. The menu is great. The atmosphere is chilled and professional. We had great hopes for our recent visit. To the fair the food was very good. Both our meals were really beautifully presented and on gorgeous plates. The goddess tasty and well cooked. It could have been a touch hotter but otherwise it was really good. What let the visit down was the speed of service. It was busy and the staff never stopped but there weren’t enough staff working and the result was a very long wait for drinks, which were forgotten not once but twice, and plates cleared and dessert asked about. Shame really. We’ll definitely go back but for their future’s sake I hope they get more staff.
