Lovely service, dog friendly (always a bonus). We were seated and served quickly. Very welcoming and friendly. My friend asked for cheese & tomato sandwich on multi grain bread and I ordered jacket potato with cheese & coleslaw. The sandwich came loaded with cheese, with salad and crisps and the potato came with a small sprinkle of cheese and a small spoonful of coleslaw and it felt a little mean as toppings were £1 each!

Over priced and disappointing! ordered a jacket potato with prawns and was shocked by how small the portion size was! Especially seeing some of the other meals coming out of the kitchen. Tiny little salad in a pot with the brown ends of lettuce, no tomato and drowning in dressing! £3 for the prawns and there was barely enough to cover the potato. Mentioned we were unhappy when we went to pay the bill - no one came to clear our plates - and got told, we can’t help how big the potatoes are’ this is our second bad experience there - will not be going back again.

We have eaten here so many times but yesterday we left very overwhelmed. We went for the weekend brunch platter, I always order gluten free but yesterday was a complete flop, no waffles and the pancakes were so thick they just crumbled and fell apart… Definitely not light and fluffy… Unfortunately they had no gluten free bread either for the toast to go with the fry up so substituted with hard stale and dry wraps…. I would rather they couldn’t cater for intolerances than serve up meals that are so bad you have to leave them…. We’ll try again but it’s going to take a fair amount for Radish to get back into one of my fav brunch spots…

Ordered a latte, only received half a cup as the rest was froth, making way to strong. Ordered a portion of fried mushrooms which consisted of 1 medium size mushroom, I complained so they came back with another one and said it was free? £1 per mushroom is ridiculous. Then dived into my poached eggs to find they were raw on the inside, very disappointed. I’ve been to this place 3 times as it’s my local and every time I’ve been disappointed by something. Waiting time is also unreasonable.

Excellent and varied menu, lovely team. We were looking for a dog friendly breakfast and Radish did not disappoint. Great dog facilities with beds and water and treats! I can recommend the bubble and squeek with poached egg and crispy bacon, hubby had the halloumi mixed grill, both amazing. Sunday roasts feature for the autumn and should be amazing.

My daughter and I went to the coffee experience at two chimps and thought we would try the Radish restaurant as it was close by. The Radish has an extensive menu and the Sunday lunches looked lovely. We just wanted a light lunch - it was really delicious. My daughter had a vegetarian sausage and egg sandwich and I had a baked potato. The staff were very friendly and the service was quick.

4 of us for lunch. We have eaten here before. Staff were friendly if a little slow. We had macaroni, cheeseburger and chunky chips haddock and chips and chicken sandwich with fries. The place became very busy after we placed our order. There was no salad or tomatoes with the cheeseburger snd the cb was very ordinary and quite small. The chunky chips were small and overcooked. Fries too, seemed overcooked. Onion relish on cb was nice though. Macaroni was tasty. haddock was nice too. The restaurant is nicely furnished and seating comfortable but the menu is more in keeping with the venue being a cafe. I felt options for a cooked lunch were a little poor. In summary, the poor choice for a cooked lunch menu was disappointing. Chips and fries need to be freshly cooked. Salad should be provided with burgers.

I believe its called "Radish Restaurant " now, after being extended and new furniture being installed. The environment is really nice, the food very good and staff friendly and attentive. The breakfast is unique in my experience as you choose individual items off the menu. The chef will do soft poached eggs ,crispy bacon if asked, and I love the sourdough toast. My wife and I are still exploring the lunch menu, and it's been excellent so far. As a bonus the coffee is good as well.On a nice day sit outside on the terrace or otherwise try one of the very comfortable sofa's (if available) inside. It's a lovely place and I'm really pleased to endorse it.

Three cyclists stopped for breakfast one overcast day. We had cycled out from Stamford on a round trip and like most cycling groups having a good place to stop is vital. I can very highly recommend this place. Good quality food. Lovely breakfast and good prices. Cakes good, coffee good, space good, all ticks in my box. Staff are very friendly and if you fancy something a bit stronger there is a selection of alcohol like doom bar but remember it’s a cafe. Not a pub. Plenty of space for large groups of cyclists also. There is room outside to park the bikes where you can keep an eye on them. I was happy and secure to park mine up and not worry about locking it. I have book marked it on Komoot as a highlight so I can plan my routes to pop in here. I would call to book a table in the current covid times but I wouldn’t say it’s vital. We visited at 09:30 on a Saturday morning and there was a few people there but it wasn’t packed. You could risk turning up but I’d still book. Thank you for the service. Can’t wait to visit again and go for cake this time.

Doing the rounds of a few garden centres, my wife and I included the Rutland Garden Centre at Oakham, where we found this lovely cafe. It was lunchtime and we decided to stay for lunch, along with many other visitors. It is not a huge place but it is friendly and there appeared to be a number of regulars. There is a regular menu supplemented by special fish, meat and pasta dishes. My wife had the fish - tilapia and hake fish bake - and I chose the chicken and mushroom linguine. Both dishes had exceptionally good flavour, were very good value, and we are happy to recommend this cafe without hesitation.

This cafe is a key member of a group of businesses that are setting themselves up in a small craft village outside Oakham. The others are all developing but this cafe is a must. If you have had lunch earlier, this eatery is better than perfect for the tea and cake afters. Be prepared - the portions are huge. Gluten free options were available today. Good seating available but none seen outside. Mobility issues are fairly well sorted but entry/exit may be easier via the garden centre entrance rather than cafe doorway, which is NOT a problem at all. All service with a smile, decor a delight, with several pictures on display that you could happily take home. The only request I would make, is that the business card which is so easily available at the till, could be used as a loyalty card on its reverse. We will certainly use this cafe again and were pleased to find the craft village itself today.

Hate to give a poor review but I've tried this place 4 times over the last few years and I don't think I've ever been in a cafe which tries so hard to make you feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. My group of 7 had planned to have lunch but unfortunately there was nothing that could be offered to the vegetarian or coeliac. This is nothing new when eating out - and they certainly didn't expect to be catered for. But I fail to see why the owners were so clearly cross about being asked. THEY are in catering. is not the onus on them to make customers welcome. And if they can't/won't cater for special diets just politely say so rather than become aggressive towards the customer. Of those that did eat they forgot the food and again became aggressive when we asked. There were only two other people in the cafe and lots of (sad looking) staff so it was nothing to do with stress during a busy period. I have no idea how businesses like this continue to keep going. Hopefully they won't and some nice people will take it over and run it properly. Maybe if the food was great you'd put up with the misery of the inept customer service...but its not...its like school dinners...but worse.

The Garden centre is has got much better recently in terms of layout and pants for sale but the star attraction is the Potting Shed within Garden Centre that we have gone to almost monthly for the last few years. The breakfast and lunch meals are tasty and good value. John always describes each of the meals for lunch with such verve that you are generally torn of which to opt for. So many continue to go back for the chatty and good natured banter from John, which always makes us come away with a smile. The team are great, quick to serve an are turn the tables quickly as they are generally full most days and especially weekends. The meals are very good tasty and good quality and good value. The Home made cake are good to take home for that afternoon tea as a treat. There is a chance that John & Val may lose the Potting Shed to the Garden Centre, who sees it as an opportunity to take it back, and hope this doesn't happen, as most people go back for the food and banter from John who fronts a great cafe.

We visited for a spot of afternoon tea and cake. All the cakes looked wonderful and it was a very difficult decision but I settled for a piece of lemon drizzle cake. Oh my days: it was heavenly! Generously sized, good quality, old fashioned lemon drizzle cake, so moist with a sharp (but not unpleasantly so) fresh lemon flavour. A grown up cake for sure but there were plenty of choices so am sure something to suit all ages. The lunches also looked delicious so we may well pop over here for lunch sometime soon to try them. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the cafe was spotlessly clean. It was obvious that many of people sitting at the tables were regulars so it would appear that the lovely people who work here take pride in running a wonderful little place that people enjoy visiting again and again. I am certainly looking forward to another visit!

The coffee shop at the garden centre is good value, with very hot coffee! Food is as you expect for such a place, good value and tasty. The staff seem very nice and helpful. The garden centre also has some good plants and are reasonably priced as well

I meet friends here and everytime the food is lovely and plentiful. They take the time and trouble to cater for vegetarians and offer something different. The cheese and leek quiche I had yesterday was extremely tasty, not your run of the mill tasteless offering. Beautiful home made cakes and desserts. Service is very friendly even when very busy. Highly recommended.

Stopped here twice whilst visiting the area, once for morning coffee, once for afternoon tea. On the first visit we had our dog so sat outside after ordering our coffees. Waited 10 minutes only to find they had forgotten us! Coffee was good and reasonably priced but no biscuit.Visited again on my own whilst out walking for a pot of tea when the service was quick & friendly and good value. The garden centre complex ("Rutland Village") is well worth looking around, with an outdoor gear shop, pet shop etc.

The Potting Shed is a favourite with my friends and I. Food is always good, great value for money and the service is exceptional. There are usually daily specials in addition to the menu giving a good variety to chose from.

This visit was a little disappointing for us as this centre was a favourite at one time. The plant display was average and the other areas did little to boost our enthusiasm. The staff were very pleasant but lacked in depth knowledge for such a centre.
