This is a fab pub, a perfect village pub. The owners are lovely and very welcoming. The atmosphere is friendly and warm. Great choice of beer & real ale. There is a fish & chip van that stops there on a Monday evening. You can buy from the van and eat in the pub the owners will even provide the cutlery. Parking can be difficult, it's on the street and not a lot of it. The village is pretty and old so the road is quite narrow. This is definitely a place to go & chill out with a pint of real ale. And it's very dog friendly the owners dog is always padding about meeting the customers.

My local for 40 years. It has changed hands a few times over the years but currently run by a lovely genuine warm couple, Jamie and Louby, plus dog Bowie. Old fashioned village pub, doesn't do fancy food but has a great range of beers, real fire, juke box, small rear covered patio area. Dogs welcome, children welcome up to 9pm. Not a rowdy place, but full of noisy chatter and laughter. Changes of draught ale every week leading to multiple CAMRA awards.

A charming pub with a delightful landlord. The beer is excellent. We didn't eat but we did buy two takeaway flagons of beer and drank them at our campsite. Conveniently, there's an arrangement that lets you hand in the empties at the site so you don't have to schlep back again. Smart thinking! Thank you for a great evening.

One of the most friendly pubs (and yes it is a PUB) I have ever frequented and believe me I have frequented plenty. It has the most homely feeling. Louby the landlady made us feel most welcome, (husband Jamie was out at the time).. Even the dog came to say hello, so yes dog friendly too The real ale and lager choices were excellent and well kept by all accounts from the locals I believe there are just cold light bites available. Popular stop for passing walkers on route through and around this pretty village I want to move there! Oh and just to add a Brucie Bonus, there is a Micro brewery in the village Whoop Whoop so some of the brews do not have far to travel. Cheers to that 🍻

Fantastic traditional pub now being run by Louby and Jamie. They have taken to running a pub like ducks to water, perfect balance of being friendly and helpful without being intrusive. They have also introduced new local beers to the lineup which is most welcome. During lockdown they have been providing a delivery service of beers via the Flaggon Waggon something that has been most welcome and added a bit of cheer in these difficult times.

Also very good value and service is prompt. You can just drop in alone for a quiet pint or be made equally welcome in a group. Good atmosphere with pool and darts available. Occasional music which is worth looking out for.Sports shown on a decent sized screen for major events. If every village pub was run like this, most would have one.
