For service very well done. The waitress (sorry I did not get her name!) Noticed that my steak was not done as I requested (rare) she waited while I checked, and then she replaced the whole dinner. Wonderful service and attitude, thank you.

I ordered a jacket potato with my meal but got a few chips instead. Also ordered a portion of coleslaw that didn’t get served. Also meal was Luke warm

First time in your pub just had a coffee amazing price.

Had a nice breakfast.... albeit a bit cold... would return though,do like whetherspoons breakfast 🍳...oh and parking available opposite behind B&M ..pay and display not expensive

Haven't visited in a while but took a trip to here with family for breakfast. Ordered on the app and received drinks quite quickly but wasn't impressed with the middle aged lady who came to bring them. Didn't find her friendly. Around 10mins later our breakfasts arrived, 3 Large breakfasts and 1 child's american breakfast. Presented nicely but couldn't help how disappointed I was the fact my food was Cold/Lukewarm. Beans were cold and bacon even colder. Usually in most wetherspoons pubs we receive a checkback after a few mins and I was hoping this would happen so I could address the cold food issue but this didn't happen. My wife's food was also cold. Disappointed. Coffee was great as always. We were here at approximately 11:30am 17th February incase management see this feedback and happy to discuss further with them.

It was really good, amazing service and really cheap however, my daughter had food poisoning for 10 days because of the food.

It is what you get, It's a cheap place to eat and drink.

Price wise 10/10 a large breakfast, a traditional breakfast and a refillable tea for £10.17, you just cannot complain... OK it is not an amazing breakfast but it does the job and there is plenty of it too. Service was good and food arrived fairly hot, wetherspoons have an issue with food being lukewarm and in our experience recently at another Wetherspoons it turned up cold and burnt! If you fancy a few pints or even a sit down for a cuppa then this is the place, don't expect too much on the food side of things. One of the nicer wetherspoons and service was friendly too. Good value.

I've read many of the reviews concerning this particular Wetherspoons in lovely Oakham and many differ but I've been into dozens of them and honestly this Wetherspoons is way above many including one in Lincolnshire we visited and received cold food at the week before. If you are looking for a pub which serves many ales at £2 a pint, very cheap food, (sometimes it actually arrives warm! ) and you don't mind mixing with the morning alcoholics,then this really is a good place to be at 9am. Nobody can complain at receiving a large breakfast, pictured, a traditional breakfast and a refillable tea/coffee which all totalled £10.17,or 5 pints of ale for under a tenner so the Wetherspoons do have plenty of pluses..... Our food was OK, service was friendly however there were 7 at the bar and Elaine the duty manager was charging around doing everything which has always been an issue at many Wetherspoons I have frequented so maybe a ticket system at the bar could be looked into. Overall today, until 11 days previously at another Wetherspoons, our food was edible and plentiful and well worth the £5.99 for what I received so on this occasion I honestly cannot whinge. One of the better ones. Visited November 8th 2024.

Good food and cheap price for drinks, especially for oakham

i had wanted a straw, i asked the waitress for a straw and she apparently said they don’t have any. i then asked another waiter for a straw and he immediately brought me one! this is outrageous! and then i order a burger with no onions and they literally gave me a burger with nothing except a pickle and a patty.

I was not told that I needed to collect my orange juice from the bar so by the time I asked about it, it had been left unattended on the bar for around 10 minutes and my friend had to ask multiple times to get a straw.

Great staff here, very friendly. Our meals were lovely, there was a good choice of beers, all reasonably priced.

Called in for a quick drink, the place was busy, and as usual empty glasses piled high. Got served quickly, and enjoyed a well served Kraken and Coke.

It's a Spoons! Standard fayre. Had a surprisingly long wait for food, unusual in a Spoons, even when busy. Great ales at great prices

I've been in a lot of Wetherspoons and this one is by far the best.

Had to slum it here today as our usual excellent haunt was closed. As usual at this terrible Wetherspoons it wasn’t possible to use the app - it often just doesn’t work in here. Went to the bar and unsurprisingly there was no-one tending the bar. Eventually beardy arrived looking every part a manager - said all the right words but in the coldest most unhelpful unfriendly way. Panini over toasted and barely edible. Chicken burger so dry I almost chucked on it. We know not to expect the very best at any ‘spoons - but even allowing for that why oh why does Oakham always get a poor imitation of the best that everywhere else gets. Pity I can’t give zero stars. Avoid if you want friendly staff or decent food

Absolutely dreadful-I don’t get the hype. We had a dismal experience with one of the staff members. We will NEVER be going back. Not a pleasant place.

Cheap drinks, which is a plus, needs a bit more atmosphere, but then it depends on who you are out with. You make it the night you want.

Great pub with awesome CHEAP beer! I paid £1.49 for a pint of Ruddles Best. Was not expecting it to be the best I've ever had. But it was spot on! Loverly bar staff told me it was a Monday promotion, and it's normally £1.79!!!! London drinkers, read this and weep!

Beautiful pub with lovely interior lighting giving it a warm, homely feel. Absolutely beautiful. I visited in the morning and the service was awful, nobody behind the bar, waited ages for her to serve bar customers as she prioritised food delivery. Even though it was a weekend there were no staff.

Ignored while watching two people get served right in front of me..then sarcastic or what ."enjoy your drink"..I guess manners are subjective..so is service..so outdated guys

A more spacious Spoons with some interesting local historical artefacts - especially liked the up-cycled agricultural machinery in the bathroom. Everything else was to an expected standard.

Dirty tables filled with pots,people having to wipe their own,ordered our food it came after about 15 minutes,our barbique Chicken,Bacon and cheese Panninis were barley warm the Cheese wasn't even melted,I sent them back,waited another 10 minutes for another meal to be brought to us,this was hot but so bland and dry,abit like eating a rolled up newspaper, this was the worst one we have eaten with a dollop of barbecue sauce in the middle.

Very good value for money. The cost of food and drinks is cheap and the food is of a reasonable quality. The cod and chips were okay. The next day I had the all day brunch which was very good and a large portion. Most dishes come with soft drinks or alcohol at a very reasonable price, far cheaper than other pubs. Service is good.

We had the cod and chips - nothing great, just ok, and a grilled chicken burger- which was dry and tasteless. Chips were ok. However, drinks were included in the meal prices which were very reasonable. I wouldn’t personally seek it out for a meal, but it will fill a hole in your stomach if you are hungry/thirsty.

Words cannot express how deeply pleased I am writing this review, a young lady called Amelia, was friendly and kind and thoughtful, and she wasn't even a bar staff she was just a cleaner she truly has made this place looks spotless. It was looking like a restaurant level must say I definitely am pleased with the whole pub and how it looks will definitely be visiting soon! Give that girl a raise!

Ate here, the food was good and exactly what you would expect from a Wetherspoon's pub. The ladies toilets (upstairs of course) are impressive!

Usual 'Spoons set up. Decent food, cheap drinks if you chose right. Decent downstairs disabled loo with Radar key access, ordinary loos in another postcode as per usual with 'Spoons. Fetch your own 13 amp plug charger for charging you tablet, phone etc.

Called in for breakfast. Good value. Tasty and service was good. Vegetarian tastes well catered for. Portion sizes just right for us.

Absolute disrespect for neighbors. We live as much as 150 meters from them, but the evenings and nights are simply unbearable because of them, loud music and screams from customers regularly prevent us from sleeping.

Wanted burgers taken off menu so my partner had steak and kidney pudding wasn't nice 1 piece of steak I had Lincolnshire sausage and mash sausages weren't Lincolnshire and left over from breakfast and mash was like smash won't eat there again

It's a Wetherspoons, all you need to know.

Well I ordered the steak and kidney pie! It literally had 1 piece of steak and no visible evidence of Kidney ! So I had to use the dishwasher stained cutlery to cut out my partners kidney and rub it in the gravy. Mmm then I was satisfied. I suppose it was a real pie, but so small it must of been embarrassed.

A big Wetherspoon pub , unfortunately out of cod on a Friday night. Service was fast but forgot one order and missed peri peri sauce off another. Quickly rectified. Very noisy and almost full.

Inexpensive food and drinks, no need for the bar you can get it delivered to your table via ap, even absent friends can buy you a drink! And you even get your steps in with a walk to the wetherspoons toilet situated normally in an adjacent post code!

Helpful and pleasant staff despite being very busy. Enjoyed mixed grill. Can park on roadside after 6pm unlimited. No car park. Enjoyed food.

It's a wetherspoons, so pretty standard. The staff were friendly and attentive, so no complaints there. Tables were cleared promptly so 👍

My family went here for dinner, The staff were great and we enjoyed ourselves. However, our food was not enjoyable in the slightest. My fiancé and I had the vegan beyond burger. Our 4 year old was feeling absolutely fine before eating here but after he had a margarita pizza and apple juice he complained of an upset stomach. On the way home he went pale in the face and projectile vomited all over the car and again at home. I can’t say for sure if it was the pizza or the apple juice that has made him unwell. But it was definitely something from this particular Whetherspoons.

Had a visit to Oakham for the first time. Worst day to choose 2nd Jan rain and floods everywhere. Looking for somewhere near by to take shelter and this was the place we chose. Lovely and warm, nice atmosphere and food hit the spot.

Very understaffed so drinks orders were very slow and food orders even slower. The staff who were in were nice, but at Christmas you would think they would put more staff on. The food was not good - one person received cold meat, I had my initial order cancelled as they didn’t have the food available and my replacement order was clearly just low quality frozen food (anaemic peas and watery scampi). The food was not priced to reflect this.

This is actually a really lovely Weatherspoons. Decorated beautifully inside and out, even the ladies' toilets, they are weirdly stunning! Food is great, nice atmosphere. Couldn't ask for more really from a spoons 👍
