Having been to the nursery last week for lunch we returned again this week! Six of us visited to have lunch for my mums birthday. The wine was lovely £45 per bottle. Lunch fabulous - pulled hoisin chicken especially delicious. The food took quite a while to arrive but we were quite happy looking at the gorgeous view and chatting while we waited. After lunch we visited the stylish shop (no dogs allowed inside) which has upmarket and expensive home furnishings. After leaving I decided to buy a tree and phoned to purchase - they took payment over the phone and arranged to deliver which was really helpful - thank you! I would recommend a visit here it’s really enjoyable 🌺

What a long wait! Arrived just before 12 and were lucky enough to be seated - any more than 2 in a party were being given a buzzer and a 30 - 40 minute wait. Waited around 15 minutes for a drinks order to be taken - we weren't allowed to order food yet as there was a 'system'! Food order was eventually taken and then we waited again! Our food eventually appeared by which point I'd lost my appetite and husband was Hank Marvin! Fish cakes were dry and smothered in chilli sauce and chips so salty they burnt my mouth, burger was okay but they forgot the cheese! At times it seemed as though the kitchen just couldn't cope with the capacity as only one dish was appearing at a time - not a great system! On leaving I mentioned the long wait we'd had but to be frank the lady wasn't bothered and struggled with an apology! Such a shame as the location was stunning with some great outside space to sit in in the summer. We won't be returning!

Visited the view this morning with a friend, and we’re both very disappointed with our ‘the view cooked breakfast’. While most of the food on the plate was warm, the hash browns on both of our plates were cold. On calling the waitress they apologised and after a delay brought out replacement hash browns. Unfortunately these were colder than the originals, mine was still partially frozen in the middle. Called the waitress again, who apologised and said she would get us some more. We declined her offer and suggested maybe a sausage to replace hash browns. After a long delay (we had finished our breakfast) two piping hot sausages were brought out ( 1 each). Another waitress came along to clear the plates and asked if everything was ok. We replied that no it wasn’t and told her our story as above. She apologised and said we wouldn’t be paying the full price for our meal. When we got to the cash till to leave we were firstly surprised by the just under £40 for 2 ‘nothing special’ breakfasts and 4 coffees, and on enquiring about a discount due to the cold hash browns, we were told no discount (or apology for that matter) as we had been given an extra sausage each. We were speechless except to tell them we were very disappointed and would not be returning.

Decided we would give this a 2nd chance for weekend Brunch; after a prior experience. Never again. On arrival we were informed there was a 40 minute wait for food so we ordered hot drinks. Then we were informed there was a 30 minute delay to being able to actually order brunch. This would then compound the extra time. It was not that busy with plenty staff available. We had our hot drinks, paid and went elsewhere for a much better experience Not recommending

This was not at all the best breakfast around and not the best value. Most of it was not very warm and we had to ask for butter for the toast. We wouldn’t go again and all of the family have said they wouldn’t either. They also are not at all flexible with the menu. It is however a lovely building and nicely presented

Our first time back for food since their very posh revamp. The building is beautiful, lofty, lots of wood with a bit of an Aspen feel to it. It makes the most of its position with great views out onto Rutland water too. The beef dish with horseradish mash was lovely, would highly recommend and at £15 a very reasonable price. The gnocchi was well cooked but I couldn’t taste the walnut pesto at all…it needs a bit of sauce. Coffee was very good but the amount you get is too small. Bigger cups please. Service was friendly and helpful. Parking easy and plentiful. Very dog friendly…few too many barking hounds for our liking but apart from that we enjoyed our lunch.

We arrived around 11:45 and were told we couldn’t order lunch until 12:00. We were given menus but nobody even came to take a drinks order until after lunch service has started. Lunch arrived (bland soup and a sandwich) before drinks, we then ordered additional coffees but were asked twice what our order was because the member of staff couldn’t remember, unfortunately he still got the order wrong! When we payed the bill we were asked if everything was ok, my response was ‘food was fine but the service has been really poor’ we were met with ‘yeh we’re really busy today!’. Not even an apology which is a shame. The whole experience was average at best, I hoped for so much more as I loved visiting before the big renovations! Please pull your socks up, people are paying above average money for mediocre food and terrible service!

Went for lunch with my husband to try out the new restaurant as we loved going to the old one. Well wasn’t very impressed. It was a Friday afternoon and was very busy, anyway we were seated and after about ten minutes had our order taken, two sandwiches and two coffees. Had coffees served and then waited, and waited for our food. Finished our drinks and still no food and couldn’t get anyone attention.anyway after 1/2 hour sandwiches were delivered and were very disappointing, bread was dry on top so they had obviously been sitting on the pass for a while and were nothing special so won’t be going back.

We had to wait ages for a morning coffee with four members of staff serving us. The staff were wandering about trying to look busy, with some huddled in groups chatting. When the coffee arrived it was very hot, in handle-less beakers. These were unpleasant, difficult to use and possibly dangerous. The nursery sells mugs (some at £25 each!) in their shop - why couldn't they use some of those in the cafe? Two coffees cost £7 and was more expensive than other cafes in Rutland. We are regular visitors to the nursery, but will not use the cafe again.

We have driven past here but have never had the time to pop in. Wanting lunch out we chose the View and are pleased that we did. Contrary to some other views on here I think the setting and the layout are great and I bet it will look lovely when decorated for Christmas. The highlight for me was the main, I had Cinfit duck leg with fondant potato and shredded cabbage. The duck was lovely and the jus/sauce was excellent. We shared a really good fruit scone, the best we've tasted for a while. I can sympathise with those who found the service a tad slow, they were really full and maybe could do with 1 or 2 more waiting staff at peak lunchtime but the only as lowdown for us was a delay in someone taking our order for food. However, once we had ordered the food arrived pretty quickly. Great Outlook! We shall definitely be back

Fabulous new building… but overall experience disappointing especially the new Cafe.. Arrived at 11.45am and was told the kitchen opens and ordering at 12pm. Seems odd nowadays to have a cut off and wait between breakfasts and lunches .. Complete lack of service/attention despite 8 waiting staff and had to ask for service to get a drink. Waiting 20 mins for a water (they get this wrong) and a coffee. The staff did not smile or seem happy to be there. The retail Shop concept were ok but merchandise all very much the same and lacks breadth of choice. Outside /plant nursery staff much more friendly. The concept fits in Rutland but execution in my view is letting it down.

Waited a few minutes to be seated with a promise someone would be with us shortly. After waiting quite a while and watching tables who had been seated after us be served we left without ordering. Got a take away coffee at the hatch instead with much quicker service.

Good food, nice views and décor but... If you are looking for a quiet place for coffee and breakfast this is not, barking dogs and crying children all around, everything felt chaotic and people around us were either waiting long and starting to be irritated or their orders were missing or incorrect so the atmosphere wasn't that great. Food was very good but the wait was pretty long for basic breakfast. Granted it was on a Saturday, weather was ugly and looks like half of Rutland was there to eat. I can imagine this would've been much nicer on a sunny day with people more spread out inside and out. Also big minus for a background 'music', wind chimes at breakfast? Big NO from us. Shop was lovely, beautiful items however pricy.

We so used to love the garden centre and cafe but the refurbishment has made it too corporate. The shop felt like an upmarket London museum gift shop and had no warmth to it. The staff in the cafe were attentive snd efficient but £3.35 for a cappuccino that was barely three mouthfuls was ridiculous. You'd get a better deal in London. I'm sure it will appeal to many and a fortune has been spent on the refurbishment but it just felt unappealing. We travelled over an hour to visit having loved it so much on previous visits but wouldn't bother again. We could simply go to the nearest Dobbies.

Went here lunch having not been in a while, went to order the food and when ordering with the young blonde girl on the till every time I said an item she sighed and pretty much rolled her eyes. I asked for some components to be removed such as the chutney and it’ still came out with the chutney in the sandwich. Good job I’m not allergic. And top it off I had to go up and ask for our drinks after we had pretty much finished off our food! (Only to then be tried to be charged again!) the waitress just spoke to her colleagues and was uninterested in the customers and was rude to a lady also who wanted to order take away ice cream. Wellies used to be good but after this experience won’t be back. I must however credit the lady who tried her best to resolve our issue whilst this younger girl clearly didn’t want to be there or have a clue what she was doing.

Lovely reasonably priced food, kind and attentive staff, quirky little touches like the milkshakes in glasses shaped liked wellington boots, little noisy if you sit indoors but quieter space outside...plus you can come with your dog if you sit outdoors. Pleasant garden centre tearoom.

We visited the garden centre and popped into Wellies for a coffee. Wellies was busy - clearly a morning coffee venue - and not surprisingly so - good coffees, home made food and cakes etc. Very pleasant break.

The soup was very good, but the bread roll was very average. It was flavourless and had the texture of homogenised factory bread. I had a cheese sandwich with tomato chutney. The cheese too had little flavour and was overpowered by the tomato chutney which was very strong and quite tart.

We sat in the the 'Dog shed' as we had my sister's Yorkshire terrier with us. The staff immediately put the heater on for us. Tea pots were refilled with hot water. Scones enormous and very tasty. Staff very helpful.

Love wellies. What a shame the older lady isn't a little more friendly and welcoming as the other staff. Lovely food though, in a pleasant setting.

Wellies is a fine little cafe in a garden centre, right on the circular bike and walking route round Rutland Water, so perfectly located for us as we cycled round last weekend. The cafe’s an attractive modern one (better than most garden centre cafes), staff are friendly and the service is pretty quick - especially given the attention to deal shown in the presentation of our food. We had a large panini and a toasted sandwich, each beautifully presented on trendy oval white plates with a small salad, fresh coleslaw, a small portion of crisps and individual little jugs of fresh vinaigrette. Excellent value for just over £6 a head. The only minor niggle we had was that most of the plants used as table and wall decorations were artificial not real - a bit of a let-down for a garden centre cafe, we thought...! This is an attractive place though and we’d recommend it - much less crowded than the admittedly attractive pub a mile or so earlier on the circuit.

I absolutely love visiting Wellies. I’ve been on a number of occasions and every time I am very impressed. The service is quick and friendly, the space is always clean and the food is delicious. I’ve been with my partner, my friends, my parents and grandparents, and I’ve even had a birthday afternoon tea there! There’s something for everyone. Thank you Wellies. I’ll be sure to pop over again soon for a slice of cake and a milkshake. I thoroughly recommend to everyone!!

Our grandchildren love a trip to the Olive Kitchen, it is quirky and fun. The best of pancakes and waffles are made there and that is the best thing. Tony is always good value and always loves to see people.

The Wheatsheaf is a hidden gem! Their Sunday lunch was absolutely delicious, and the service was top-notch. We followed up with a delightful dessert to round out the perfect meal. We took part in a 5-mile hike around the lovely countryside that surrounds Langham afterwards to walk it all off! If you're looking for a fantastic Sunday Lunch, I highly recommend giving The Wheatsheaf a try. You won't be disappointed! The beer selection and quality on the day we visited (real ales) were OK to good, middle rating there, but I wasn't there for a session, so that didn't detract. The seating layout is not as cosy as it could be, but the staff were very accommodating when we called in for a beer after the walk, allowing us to sit in the dining area. All round highly recommended
