Very grateful to be fitted in last minute for a Sunday toast. Beautiful traditional pub, lovely cosy atmosphere, great hosts and of course tasty food too. Thankyou so much. Highly recommend!

A member of our party is coeliac so we called in advance to book and were quickly put at ease by the staffs knowledge of how to handle cross contamination. Upon arriving the chef and owner came out to speak to us about how he’d prepared our food first thing this morning before anything else, had put on a separate fryer for anything we’d want to try, and discussed how he could adapt the menu to allow us to have items not marked as gluten free too! The menu had several options to choose from and a very nice pub sized meal was enjoyed. The owner then came out after to check we were happy with our meal asking questions to help better educate himself as well on how he could improve in the future. The food industry would be much better for people with illnesses/ allergies if every owner took the time like Mike did to speak to members of the community and understand how they can do better to cater for more people. Would certainly recommend and we’re confident this place will only get better.

Best Sunday lunch ever, as always!

Another amazing meal at one of our Favourite pubs. We visit Langham once a year and always make a reservation for the Wheatsheaf. The staff are always really pleasant and make you feel welcome. The food choice is fantastic and has something for everyone. My mother in law is gluten free and had a variety of meals to choose from. The service is prompt and the food is served to perfection. Will definitely recommend this place and will be going back. Only one recommendation I would have is that they do a small plate option. My parents in law struggle to eat big meals and I feel they would have been better with smaller portions. They enjoyed the food but hated wasting some of it. Just wished we lived closer so we could visit more often.

Absolutely brilliant pub friendly atmosphere the food was exceptional from the black pudding scotch egg ,baked camembert starters to the pork stincanto and haddock main meals could not fault it . Staff were great very friendly and professional . Big thank you to Mike for the lift back to our holiday home too

We rocked up at 8:45pm on a Friday night, three adults and two dogs, and the team could not have been more accommodating. As non-locals, we were given such a friendly welcome! As for the food, it's easily one of the best pub meals we've had in a long time. Homemade and clearly prepared fresh, it really was beautiful. Extra points for the vegetarian and vegan menu. Really can't speak highly enough of this wonderful village pub.

Very expensive, really average in fact my food was dreadful and I sent it away . The service was very good but so many places in this area why bother with pricy and average. Great reputation but totally over rated sadly.

The outside could do with a lick of paint but inside is lovely and the food was good. They dealt with my allergy query well. I had baked camembert with fries which was nice. Partner had chicken burger. Meals were large so we couldn't manage dessert! Lots of vegetarian options.

I had the “rare” roast beef- it was more medium rare, so quite nice. It came with a large Yorkshire pudding and generous portion of stuffing with veg. The only veg that was not quite up to standard was the roast potatoes which was not cooked well. Overall a good lunch though.

Very generous portion of roast pork with a large and tasty Yorkshire pudding, tasty stuffing served with vegetables and plenty of sauce. There were three thick slices of roast pork which were a little dry and tough. .the crackling was tasty and crunchy. The roast potatoes were tasteless. Service was excellent and the ambience was cosy. Good value for money as the portions were generous.

Best food ive had in a long while

Really good quality food with friendly service. I'd say great pub food but that feels like an undersell. Between the four of us we had lamb and vegetarian Sunday lunch which came with generous servings of veg, including toasties and gravy. A nice big Yorkshire pud that was large without being ridiculous. 2 of us had the slow cooked BBQ pork which was outstanding as well. The starters were every bit as good. While we didn't have desserts the menu was very tempting. The service was friendly and efficient without being overbearing. All in all was a superb Sunday Lunch choice at a reasonable price point. In our case it worked out at 2 courses and a couple of drinks was £25 per head. Great value for money given the quality was really good. Highly recommend it. We will be back and probably outside of a Sunday to try a few of the dishes.

Lovely pub, great food! Been a few times and everyone's always lovely - staff and locals alike. No complaints whatsoever :)

I hosted my baby shower here this afternoon and it was amazing, they moved tables and chairs to accommodate everyone. The food was incredible with extra effort made to those who had food allergies. The staff were and have always been amazing everytime I have been in and always go above and beyond. Would highly recommend and would definitely host there again! Thank you Wheatie and Team.

My children and I went for Easter Sunday dinner last week and the whole experience was fabulous. We were greeted with a warm welcome by Ruby upon arrival and shown to our table. The ambience and surroundings were pleasant and the meal superb. The Beef Fillet is to die for (highly recommended) and my two children enjoyed their Roasts. My son then wanted a Chocolate Sundae which wasn’t on the menu, but the team produced not only one, but two as I liked the look of them as well. My daughter had a wonderful orange chocolate tart which was delightfully presented. I can’t praise this pub enough (pie night on a Thursday also highly recommended) . Keep up the excellent work, Mike, Marva and the whole team. Will be back soon 😁

This is my local village pub and after stopping off on our way home - group of 5 - and giving feedback for three of the group that the Abbots Ale was sub-standard, and then enquiring about the extra charge for replacement drinks, were told in no uncertain terms that our custom was not welcome again!!! Mate, your're the ring-in - not a publicans bootlace!! Seriously - does this landlord know how to spell customer serivice??? Good luck - won't be getting my custom or any of my friends/acquaintances again. Let's see how long you stay in busi ess???

13 Family and friends had a Sunday lunch today to celebrate a 60th birthday, The food was excellent and more than plenty,all served hot and fresh, the service we received was excellant and nothing was to much trouble. A big thank you to all the staff and chef for making our day a brilliant one . A lot of us travelled down from Hull and belive me the journey was well worth it. Would recommend the weatsheaf to anyone. 5 Stars 🌟

Could just do with a tidy up of the beer garden / back entrance area - broken window and cigarette butts on outdoor tables

Second visit here and I am pleased that we have this place locally. Amazing food selection, including a decent separate vegetarian/vegan menu. Service was spot on both times, once being a busy Christmas service. Could really do with a milk alternative for coffees would be my suggestion for improvement.

Popped in mid Sunday afternoon for a quick pint. Have not been in for a while but found the staff friendly, pub busy and good atmosphere. Can’t go wrong eh?

This is the first time I have visited this pub for my mums birthday, yet I was rather disappointed. The staff are friendly and quick, but the food I felt was not great at all. We had to send back three camembert to the kitchen because they were still hard and not melted enough.

Our social group of ten neighbours ate here for our early Christmas celebration, Christmas Fayre Menu, great taste, service and value. All enjoyed enormously.

We as a group of 5 people decided to pop in for a bite to eat on the way back from gates garden centre as they was too busy. The food was delicious. I had the Chicken breast burger with the onion rings and chips and it was so nice. My friends had the lamb shank, the vegetarian lasagna, the fish and chips etc, the food we all agreed was brilliant they had the puddings but mine was enough so didnt bother but all portion sizing was brilliant. The staff who served us from the second we walked in was kind thoughtfull and went above and beyond for all 5 of us. She was a true asset to the wheatsheaf pub. I will be visiting again and would highly recommend this establishment in it entirerty.

My friend and I enjoyed a fantastic evening at the Wheatchef last night. We sat in the snug with roaring log fire. The food was fantastic. A perfectly delicious pie mash and veg! Service as always, efficient and friendly. Very reasonable price too. Highly recommended.

Couldn't believe how quiet it was on a Saturday night given the excellent quality of the food. The veggies in the group were pleased to have a real variety of dishes to choose from and the venison pie and beef dishes were also superb. Excellent service too.

It's no suprise the chef has won awards for his pies, they are amazing! There are many other tempting dishes on the menu, we'll definitely be coming back to work our way through the menu! Incredibly friendly staff too, nothing was too much trouble.

We called in to the Wheatsheaf for lunch and were not disappointed. We thought the menu was excellent with numerous different dishes that we liked the sound of. For our mains we chose the pork Stincanto and slow braised fillet of beef. Both dishes arrived piping hot and were very tasty with very generous portions. For desserts we both chose the homemade apple and cinnamon crumble. Once again these were served piping hot and unusually for a crumble were deliciously light. We really appreciated the time that the owner and chef Mike spent talking to us and explaining the history of the Wheatsheaf since he took ownership. The service from every member of staff was friendly and efficient. Along with 2 pints of tasty Brixton ale and a soft drink the bill came to £60.00. Thanks to the whole team for making our final holiday lunch so enjoyable.

I would just like to say a huge thank you for making my 60th birthday special on Sunday, the food was amazing, the roast beef was so tender and melted in your mouth. The staff where amazing nothing to much trouble. I will definitely be returning very soon

Love coming to Wheatsheaf Langham, been coming for a few years snd always enjoy the food, Service and amazing feel of the place. Can easily say its my favourite pub restaurant in the area.

Staff were really friendly and attentive. Food was excellent and we felt it was reasonable value. Children’s meals seemed good quality and decent size too.

Had a busy day so decided to have a take away. Very accommodating gentleman took the order and hubby collected at the given time. The food was really delicious. Braised fillet of beef is superb. Lovely fresh veg to accompany it and apple crumble to finish. Food was hot and very well packed to safely transport home. Recommend and will certainly be using regularly ourselves.

Couldn't fault anything. Friendliness of the staff, large menu choice including vegetarian and vegan options and the food was amazing. We'll definitely be back, especially on Thursday pie night!

Great pub food, seems to be made from scratch and have great gluten free/vegetarian/vegan options! We were a big group but service was fantastic, nothing was too much trouble from the lovely staff! Would definitely visit again when visiting Rutland Showground, good parking too.

Another gorgeous meal at the Wheatsheaf this is our favourite place to eat with our 2 small boys. All the staff are very accommodating and so lovely with our boys. We drive 50 mins to get there but it’s so worth it. Food is always piping hot, fresh and delicious! Thank you again for a very delicious lunch.

Visited for a birthday lunch . Really good . This is a proper pub doing excellent food , not trying to be a pretentious gastro pub. Great friendly service with a smile. We had calamari and squid for starters (different starters ) both hot crunchy and presented very well. We both followed with the world renowned pies . Mine a chicken and stuffing pie , other a lamb pie. Both delicious ,mine served with mashed spud and veg and with a jug of gravy . Other served with chunky chips , pot of gravy and veg. Both meals served lovely and hot , great presentation and very filling. No room for pud . Thanks for a lovely meal and will definately be back.

Having been refused food at 9.05 pm by another local pub, the landlord of the wheatsheaf took pity on 2 very weary travellers and arranged for food after 9.30 pm by the time we actually got there. Service was friendly and helpful and we enjoyed a lovely late evening meal in pleasant surroundings. Would highly recommend.

Being honest. Just tried to call in to get some food. No food served on Wednesday, apparently not open on Monday or Tuesday either... So alas, not really a chance to see what it has to offer...

Got caught stranded on route home to manchester due to our car breaking down. Mike was massively welcoming and offered us amazing food and service throughout the night until accomodation was sorted. Drinks were flowing with extremely friendly people and the food on offer was brilliant and accomodated perfectly for my partners egg allergy, would highly recommend a visit and will be back again at some point.

After an eventful day of a car breakdown and being left stranded in a small village we didn’t know, we ended up having the most amazing experience at The Wheatsheaf! Mike, Mason and all of the team there went above and beyond to provide the most attentive, personable service I’ve ever had. They greeted us with warmth and made us a beautiful, fresh meal that was perfectly accommodated to my egg allergy, lovely with drinks flowing all night! This pub has a lovely warm, community feel that is formed through the dedication of all the staff there! This is a basic pub, but does the job for an everyday meal. My husband really enjoyed his burger, which was huge, but I was very disappointed with my fish and chips, the chips weren’t crispy and the fish batter was soft. If we go...

I cannot rate this establishment any higher! Every member of staff was great, went above and beyond and all had a smile whilst doing their part to make service flow! Food was unreal!! Went away for the weekend with my now Fiancée and went here two days in a row and actually spend most of the second day wishing for dinner time to hurry up! Unfortunately a bit of a trek to come up from Southampton for a lunch but will definitely return if I'm ever in the area! Thank you so much guys, keep up the great work 👌

We came here as it was dog friendly and was greeted by the chef/boss probably not sure but very friendly set us up a table for food so the dog could sit with us and we could watch the England game as well. Good selection...
