We ordered the koz grill and some hummus and it was absolutely delicious. I am celiac and the team were fantastic. They were very clued up on what I could and couldn’t have and also understood cross contamination. All of the grilled meats, chips, salad and dips were gluten free. I was sharing the platter and so the team put the rice and bread in a separate bag so that the gluten containing products was kept separate. The grilled meats were beautifully grilled and super juicy and flavoursome! We shared the platter between three of us and there was more than enough. Definitely recommend and lovely to have a different take away option in town.

Ordered 2 kebabs but one was missing. I was offered a refund of the missing item or I could return to collect the missing kebab but due to the distance we had travelled the rest of the order would have been cold. There was no apology or offer of goodwill gesture for the inconvenience or the expense of travelling back to Oakham. I was told ‘it doesn’t work like that!’ It doesn’t work having half my order missing either. Food was mediocre for the price.

We are quite regular to this amazing little takeaway in Oakham. Suitable for any night of the week, not just the weekend as it is fresh, home cooked, basically barbecue meat with salad and the best turkish rice. You dont have to feel guilty to eat this on a Tuesday if you have the grilled chicken shish! DO NOT miss out on the saksuka, a rich Aubergine and tomato dip. 1 will share across 4 people as a side . The family who run this place are very lovely. It is a pleasure to support them. I am a big chicken wing's fan also and theirs are suuuuupurb!

Made a nice change from the, oh so many, Indian restaurants in Oakham. Easy to order from the website, but not clear what came with each order. Chicken Shiah and lamb chops both came with rice & bread but it didn’t have that on the menu so order as sides. Which was far too much. Very delicious food, would have preferred less rice and bread & more than 6 small pieces of chicken though.

Beautiful authentic charcoal grilled Turkish kebabs. Portions are excellent and they smell and taste amazing. Nice fresh salads and sides. Not your run of the mill kebab house. Highly recommended

A visitor to the nearby Cottesmore, I was keen to try something different from the local cuisine. Saw Koz whilst driving by and decided to investigate more. On the website the prices were expensive to say the least, the most pricey item on the kebab menu was nearly £45. For one kebab! I decided to treat myself to the £23 kebab, thinking I'm getting something really special. Prior to this the most I've ever spent on a kebab was £15, an unforgettable experience that took a lot to eat. This seems the pinicle of kebabs in my local area of Shropshire. The kebab itself arrived in a sealed tray. It consisted of several pieces of meat laying on a bed of rice. No bread as advertised and wholly disappointing. Flavourless and underwhelming. If it wasn't for the massive amount of rice I would have been left wanting. I ordered a regular chicken kebab for my wife, which again consisted of four pieces of flavourless chicken on a bed of rice. All in all, a very overpriced experience. Not something I would repeat any time soon.

This was the first time I’ve orders from Koz and I’m very happy I did! Very welcoming staff, I was greeted with a friendly hello as soon as I walked in and was offered a cup of Turkish Tea! The food was delicious and you get very good portions. I will be using Koz again! Keep up the great work!!! A well deserved 5 out of 5!

The lamb ribs are 10/10 best I’ve ever had I must mention the homemade baklava was unreal it was perfectly crisp and sweet great desert perfect to enjoy after the kebabs the bread that it came with was delightful warmed over charcoal great with the cacık dip . The mixed green salad on the side was delicious I really liked the pomegranate molasses dressing . Great new place in Oakham would definitely recommend. I was staying in Oakham after travelling for work. There were a number of places open for food in the mid-evening, but this place looked one of the most inviting. I wasn't disappointed, even though it was a take-out.. The food was excellent. I ordered the Special Combo with chicken and lamb shish as well as chicken beyti. All were lovely and tasty. The accompanying salad and bread were spot on. It seems like a family run place, and very welcoming at that. Great food and service, what more do you need!

We have developed a taste for Turkish food, after discovering a Turkish food stall while shopping in nearby Peterborough, so had been looking forward to trying the food from Koz since we first saw it was opening in Oakham. We tried to order by phone last Saturday, as we live around 6 miles away from Oakham, but we could not get through on the phone as it just rang out then went to messages, we thought they must be busy due to it being their opening it week. We tried to phone an order through again this Saturday, but still had the same problem, so we decided go in and order this time. The shop itself is small with 2 or 3 small tables joined together, which seems to be more of a place to sit while you wait for your takeaway to be cooked, rather than a place to sit and eat your meal. You can see all the kebabs in the counter fridge and pick what you like the look of, and watch them being cooked on charcoal grill while you wait. The staff are very pleasant and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. For example, we forgot to order a portion of chips so went back to order them, and they gave us them for free, they also gave us extra garlic and chilli sauces. We didn’t have to wait too long for our food, maybe 20 mins, and we ordered quite a bit. Excellent customer service. For a starter we tried the hot Meze, which is enough for two hungry people, or three less hungry people to share as a starter, alternatively it would make a good sized meal for one. The hot Meze included 3 Kalamar (battered squid rings), which were crispy and not at all chewy, they went really well with the garlic sauce. 2 larger and 1 smaller pieces of Sucuk Izgara (fried Turkish sausage), which were delicious. 2 Sigara Boregi (fried rolled filo pastry filled with fetta cheese and parsley inside) which were really tasty. 4 Falafels with hummus which were far nicer than we had previously from elsewhere, 2 Hellim (char grilled Halloumi) and several pieces of scampi which we also enjoyed, everything included was cooked to perfection and was very tasty. Although the hot meze may seem quite expensive for a starter at £14.95, considering the quality, variety and quantity you get, it is certainly worth it. It is also a good way to sample all the hot starters for a reasonable price, we would definitely order it again, as we enjoyed everything that was included. It is very difficult to choose a favourite from the hot meze as everything was really delicious, though if pressed I think I would say my favourite was probably the Sucuk Izgara, so would probably order an extra portion of that next time, as we all liked it so much. Looking forward to trying the cold meze in the future too. For main meal I had the special combo which allows you to choose 3 kebabs, it comes with rice and a choice of green or onion salad or a combination of the two, and Turkish bread. I opted for Adana (minced lamb with red peppers and herbs), chicken Shish (cubes of chicken fillet marinated in herbs) and chicken Beyti (spicy minced chicken with garlic and herbs), they were all delicious. The chicken Beyti wasn’t that spicy, so if you don’t like spicy food don’t let the fact it is listed on the menu as spicy put you off, as it is very mild and very tasty. The Adana was lovely and so tasty, another from our party also ordered a large Adana and really enjoyed it. The chicken shish was very tender and juicy, another from our party also ordered a chicken shish and really enjoyed it, in fact it is the best chicken shish kebab we have had. I really enjoyed all of the kebabs in my combo, and was pleasantly surprised by how succulent the chicken Shish kebab was, everyone in our party who tried it said how nice it was, and the Adana is now a firm favourite with another in our party. You can order chilli or garlic sauce to go with the kebabs, the chilli sauce is quite hot but goes nicely with the kebabs, the Ayran drink was nice to take the heat out of the hot sauce a little, the garlic sauce is a good tasty option if you prefer a less spicy sauce for your kebab. I would like to try the chicken wings another time as they looked nice. We will definitely be ordering more kebabs from here in the future. For desert I had Sutlac (Turkish homemade rice pudding), it was a decent size portion that could easily serve 2 if you are a little full, though I had no problem finishing it by myself. It is served cold which is tradition, it was very rich and creamy with hints of vanilla, absolutely delicious and will certainly be ordering it again. All in all Koz is a great little Turkish kebab takeaway, that offers delicious authentic Turkish kebabs cooked on a charcoal grill, if we could get delivery, or could order by phone and collect, would definitely order more often. Would highly recommend Koz to anyone who is in Oakham, and wants to experience delicious authentic Turkish kebabs, cooked to order on a charcoal grill.

This is really a takeaway place with a couple of tables - so we took away lovely grilled lamb shish and ribs. Excellent flavour and great value for money with bread, rice and salad included in the price. We'll be back very soon. A great addition to Oakham.

The four of us had a very enjoyable evening here. The owner/ waiters were very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious from start to finish especially the scallop and king prawn main course. Lovely atmosphere on a Friday evening too.
