Lovely first visit to Jashir, food excellent and well presented , staff very helpful and attentive, thoroughly recommend if you enjoy indian cuisine.

Wow, wonderful welcome, perfect faultless service. Great evening with family. There were 6 of us. Everything was beautifully cooked, we all had something different and anything we couldn't eat we had in a doggie bag to take away. Loved this place (the prices were very reasonable too) and we look forward to returning. Highly recommend.

Easily the best Indian restaurant in the area !! We have recently moved here from Kent and have tried several Indian restaurants but none come close to this place

A colleague had recommended this place and so we booked for 6 people on a Friday night. The menu is an interesting mix of classics but with some new items that we hadn’t seen before. Highlights included the Chicken & Lamb Kheema mix, the salt & pepper paneer and the Chicken Tikka Dhasak. Moreover the service was of the highest standards especially highlighted by the welcome from the chef owner and his explanations of the origins of some of the dishes. Could not give a higher rating or recommendation. We will be back!!

On arrival was offered a weird table at the front of the restaurant on its own where people wait to collect their takeaway, we had booked and so turned this down. This gave me a weird vibe from the off, then got offered a very nice table at the back of the main restaurant, oh so you do have room?! Was very hard to get the waitresses attention throughout the meal, long waits (was ok though as quite like talking to my wife). Waitress kept wanting to take the drinks menu away, but she was very friendly when she came to the table. Food was ok, very well presented, excellent peshwari naan. The curry’s are very creamy mild and a bit sweet for my taste, nice touch that the chef comes out and asks you if you enjoyed your meal. £85 for two courses with a ‘optional service charge’ added (naughty), not the most expensive meal but not great value. There are too many Indian restaurants in Oakham now it was hard to see how this one will stand out.

Loving the Sunday Thali menus. Nilesh outdid himself with this South Indian Thali. Beautifully presented, high praise from everyone from vegetarian to meat eaters alike. Fresh, home cooked.. beautifully spiced. Nilesh is always very hospitable. This is the second different Thali we have had and the first set a high bar but this one was even better. We will be back!

Great authentic Indian cuisine. Nicely decorated. Accomodatingwhen tryingvto boo at the last moment. Went with my wife, her brother and his wife.had a good varietyof food, all excellent. Best peshwari naan I've had. Definitely a favourite place for us all

Excellent food as always been here before The one star i have knocked off is for how cold it was upstairs i have only sat downstairs before i needed to sit with my coat on and also the first ladies toilets i tried to turn the tap on and it moves in a circle so struggled to get water. Food 10/10

great food, very tasty & the staff very attentive but the place was so cold - heaters made no difference at all.

We visited Jashir last night and were blown away by both the food and the service. I had a chef's special Prawn Achari (I think) and it was the best curry I have ever eaten, absolutely amazing flavours! We took our ten year old twins and our parents, everyone said how amazing their dishes were and that we have to come back the next time they are here. The tables are well spaced out and the whole restaurant has a luxury feel to it. Wonderful!

There are many indian restaurants in Oakham and don’t have a particular favourite. So nothing to lose trying another! Any how’s this exceeded our expectations. The decor, food and staff were excellent and even met the chef 👍 Deffo go again and would recommend to anyone to try it. Also thought it was very reasonably priced. Fantastico 🥳

Delicious meal in a lovely environment! We enjoyed a family meal on Saturday evening and the restaurant was beaufully light and airy and clean, and our order was taken swiftly and food arrived quickly. We had pani puri as an amuse bouche which is lovely for a change. Great location, lovely staff and great fresh food.

Absolutely amazing all around. Friendly and attentive staff, wonderful with our kids and so helpful when ordering. Huge delicious portions, really reasonable prices. So good we are going back another night and we are only staying a few days! We wish we could move you to London!

Recently moved from a fairly humble location to a prime High Street spot, the quality of the food at Jashir remains as high as ever. The menu contains the usual 'curry house' favourites but these are outnumbered by Chef/Proprietor Nilesh's dishes inspired by his early years in India. In short, great food served in very generous portions and served by friendly and helpful staff. Try the Channa Masala - superb!

Absolutely delicious food. Oakham has a few good Indian restaurants but this one is exceptional. Samousas! Naans!! Dahl!

Booked a table for our family which included twins of 2 years. We arrived a little late and there was no problem we was shown to our seats. Service was fantastic. The popadoms are so fresh and light and the dips were exquisite. The twins loved them!! The staff were amazing with the twins, very family orientated. really helpful and patient. The food was outstanding. The chef prepared a dish off the menu for us and it was divine. It was a king prawn tikka masala and was the tastiest we have ever tried. Will definitely be booking again soon :)

Visiting the area from Bristol, this was the nicest curry we’ve had in a long time, it was so tasty and the green sauce on the popadom tray is the best we asked for more, a very personal touch I liked is that the chef...

We booked a table for this evening nut weee running late which did not cause then a problem . Once we arrived we were taken to our table upstairs. The food was amazing. The service we couldnnot fault. We will be returning. Thank you Nilesh for a very enjoyable evening 😊

The staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was excellent. I have to say so far this is the best Indian restaurant we have been to since moving to Rutland. We will definitely be back.

We are curry fiends, at least once a week. We went vegetarian and didn’t regret it. One of the best curries we’ve had in ages. Deep heat rather than mouth-scalding.

Called in this evening on the opening night. The food was absolutely delicious, unfortunately the service did not meet the same standard. You have a great restaurant, but really need to train the staff as they really let you down this evening, such a shame....
