The best restaurants in Rutland East Midlands

I have done a more detailed review, but here with minimal characters allowed i can honestly say during our stay i have no reason to recommend this restaurant. The food was a bit hit and miss. I had the steak and it was very bland the fish and chips and tart from the brasserie menu were nice. We were not actually seated in the restaurant but in the same place we had breakfast. The restaurant, brasserie, breakfast area are all in one area its just kind of divided up and is in a separate building to the rooms which are mainly separate from the main hall. We were expecting something a wee bit more grand, there's no atmosphere here although the staff were all very attentive and Covid safety very good, most of the time. (staff seen on the odd occasion not wiping tables after guests had left) It didn't meet my expectations.

I get inordinately excited when I arrive at the Co-op to find the ridiculous revolving door out of action, or the fire door sneakily open. Otherwise, a rather magnificent store for little Rutland, with a good range of products and excellent staff and service.

Was a great crew on this evening called in earlier half 5 ish and had a problem with my app order, down to me to be fair but the manager think her name was Abbey apologies if I’ve got that wrong was extremely helpful and sorted it all out for me, rest of the crew dealt with were just very polite and friendly a credit to the company

Really nice cafe, in a great setting! An ideal place for a break while on a walk. Good selection of food and cakes and very friendly and accommodating staff. Would highly recommend.

For service very well done. The waitress (sorry I did not get her name!) Noticed that my steak was not done as I requested (rare) she waited while I checked, and then she replaced the whole dinner. Wonderful service and attitude, thank you.

Fantastic pub restaurant hotel. Very friendly and attentive and helpful staff. I'll definitely be back! I'm also glad it's on a dead end road with no other places nearby... helps to keep it special. I can't comment on the rooms but a friend told me that they're excellent with a definite comfortable country pub vibe.

Really nice cakes and milkshakes and friendly service. Lovely decor and fairly priced. Great addition to Oakham. Highly recommend.

Ordered over 20 minutes before they closed, ten past 9 I checked see how long it’d be and they’d just cancelled the order. Don’t advertise a closing time if you’re closed before then!

Went with the family for a relaxing Sunday roast, we ordered two roast beef and the gnocchi, when the food arrived it was a really good, fresh meal and the portions were a good size. Prices are very reasonable and service is friendly. I would highly recommend if you’re passing through the village.
