The best restaurants in Newark and Sherwood East Midlands

Went to get food after being at work all day, costing £27 got it home it was awful, had chicken special curry and chips!!had 3 little pieces off chicken, gone down hill since Chris left

not much duck în the spring rolls, more like what a duck eats.

The chicken jalfrezi I ordered was delicious unfortunately the ordered Raitha was just a plain yoghurt and the lemon rice a Pilau rice with a wedge of lemon I know it as a plain boiled rice cooked with grated lemon rind

Food was ok my husband had a beef dinner , I had the fish it was from frozen but very greasy and the small portion of frozen chips let it down , Slow service the young staff were more bothered about polishing cutlery than service and clearing our plates away , wasn’t even busy but seemed like the staff were doing anything but tend to tables , we had a child with us but had to ask for a children’s menu ,I think the staff need training as if it was busy they would be in a mess,

We love this pub for so many reasons, great service, fab food with all your pub classics. Comfy seating area and warm atmosphere, not to mention the outside in summer. Fantastic sun spot ! Thanks from the Team for yet another great meal.

The food here is your standard pub grub stuff, the staff are great but the best bit about the place was the music that was playing in there.

Needs a new manager/ owner or this establishment will close

Based on the experience we had, and we were just popping in for a tour, you wouldn't go wrong with this venue! Literally drove up to the door, and we were given the time of day to answer questions and provide the kind of hospitality guests should receive. Thank you for taking your time with us and showing us around your beautiful house. Updating: Wedding day. Beautiful weather, trees in blossom. Staff on point. Have helped every step of the way; from organising speech order, to clearing the tables. Can't recommend enough.

Food was excellent, staff very friendly. I highly recommend this pub.

Tasty but a bit too much oil on the curry. Will order again 👍🏼

Slow service. Parking can be a challenge.

Great place to sit down and wind down over a delicious Italian coffee. I ordered a latte and a pistachio cake - both were delicious. Plenty of seating indoors and out, though this can quickly fill at three weekends. We'll worth a visit.

Good taste and reasonable price

Our first visit & it more than exceeded our expectations..arrived to a packed out Restaurant on a Thursday Lunch , sat next to a really lovely lady who was dining on her own . We got chatting with Judith who couldn't praise the food & owners enough. After devouring our Lamb Shank & Beef Bourginon we could see what she meant , house Sauvignon Blanc also very good .Lemon Tarts had sold out so we took home Coconut Macaroons instead . A really wonderful dining experience.. there was a real buzz about the place , people were leaving truly satisfied ..
