Food was excellent, staff very friendly. I highly recommend this pub.

My wife, father-in-law and myself have just had a fantastic lunch. Excellent value for money, friendly staff and very welcoming. The dog loved it because free treats were available. Father-in-law is in a wheelchair and restaurant easily accessible from car park. We’ll definitely be back.

I have always acknowledged great food and I have to highlight our experience today. Firstly, I would like to say that it was amazing to see a village pub full with locals, out to enjoy the sun. Secondly, the food was out of this world. We had the Greek Mezze for two. Absolutely fantastic, tasty, enjoyable. Credit to the chef and the supporting team. Highly recommended. Well done.

Wow loved the Sunday roast the best I’ve had for a while. Had a short weight but the chef got us in. (Me and the wife) The meat was so tender and vegetables super fresh, so loved the red cabbage, roast potatoes. Lots of it and will be back thank you (free WiFi)

I popped in for a beer and walked out with a pizza that stole my heart—and my dinner plans. Collingham Crust, you’re a delicious accident!

I have just tried out the new takeaway pizza . It was amazing so tasty. The crust was perfect and more than enough toppings. Well done its a brilliant idea for the village .Hope this will continue to grow and look forward to having more pizzas in the near future.

Went to The Royal Oak for a takeaway pizza tonight, and they were incredible. I ordered a mighty meaty and pepperoni for myself and two others, and we were all so impressed. Generous amount of toppings, light fluffy dough and a great cheese pull! One of the best tasting pub pizzas we’ve ever had. We will certainly be back! 🍕

We’ve just been for a burns night dinner, after watching the bird Murmuration at a nearby rspb - warm, cozy, friendly atmosphere and incredible food. The chef treated us to home cooked bread to start and a Scot’s broth that warmed us right up. We then both had the pork belly with haggis Bon Bons, the meat was so tender, the haggis was delicious in a crispy breaded coating, loved the rich red cabbage and pretty much licked our plates! Would highly recommend and will definitely be back.

Booked for a Sunday lunch. 3 adults 2 children. Thought it was a bit pricey for the meal £18..... but when it came out, it was well worth it. Beef was really tender and the roasted veg spot on. Will certainly return. Would definitely recommend.

Great place for an evening meal after fishing the river trent

We went for Sunday Roast yesterday, all I can say is we will never return,we ordered beef and was told they had sold out,which is acceptable so my partner had the half chicken and I chose honey roast gammon. I really wish I had taken a photo, when my meal got delivered it had a gammon steak slapped on top of the "veg" which consisted of 2 slices of carrot,1 piece of parsnip and 4 anaemic looking potatoes. The Yorkshire pudding was the best bit. All of the above was swimming in a ridiculously thin gravy. The waitress was very polite and when I told her it wasn't what ui expected,she said sorry I'll tell them in the kitchen, and never returned back to us. At £18 each it was very overpriced and most definately not worth it.

Good pub food and very pleasant service but just so slow. Our food did not arrive until an hour after we had ordered it.

We had heard mixed reviews about this pub, but I can honestly say that my husband and I had the most amazing meal tonight! The chef definitely knew his stuff and even discouraged us from ordering the rump steak as it was not at its best, and offered us the sirloin at the same price. The deserts were heaven and the service was excellent....will definitely visit again 🙂

There was nothing to write home about. Food I could make as well, if not better, myself with disco music slightly above background level. I can't imagine what other nationalities who know more about food think when they visit this country.

Lovely place, I had to pop in on the journey home. Looked lovely an cosy, and it was full for today's lunchtime. We will have to visit again to test the food and service ourselves, looks well worth the visit.

ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT pre booked a table for Sunday lunch for 6 people and a dog On arrival they had to rearrange the seating in the dog friendly area to accommodate us which meant moving a table of 4 people who were already seated Not a great start Waited sometime before menus were brought to us And an even longer wait for the food to arrive Which was lukewarm The roast beef gammon and lamb were obviously not sliced from a joints which at £17 each we expected On the plus side there was a good variety of vegetables despite them being lukewarm We did mention this to the waiting staff who said that they would pass the information to the kitchen staff Would we return? Probably not

Went this evening and was very impressed..I had a burger which was lovely and the fries were lovely and crispy.would have liked a bit more coleslaw as there wasn't much ..my wife had the pie,chunky chips,mushy peas and a rich ale gravy which she said was a bit too rich ...the staff were very polite and friendly and we will definatly return ( soon )....it would be nice to have a lasagne or curry on the menu and some other pub classics ( my wife loves lasagne but it's not for me ..)

We went to sample the new menu tonight at our local. I have to say that since the new management have taken over, they have transformed this place. The staff were attentive and friendly, and the food was very good indeed. Well done. We will be back with our friends 👍

Visited today for Father's Day and had one of the best Sunday Roasts I've ever had! Really enjoyed the beer too and the staff were all lovely. Would definitely recommend!

Massive improvements under the new management. Finally a landlord who knows how to run a pub. Can't fault the place now.

This is a village local we are trying to support. The atmosphere in the pub varies. Yesterday it was very quiet and totally lacked any vibrancy or joy. The staff seemed to have changed. Yesterday they were all young and polite but lacked any ability to chat to the customers. Despite this we stayed and ordered food. The burger was just passable. Mine was burnt on the outside. The chips were fine . The coleslaw was very good but a very small portion. All in all we will not be eating there again.

Enjoyed a relaxing evening meal celebrating birthdays with family and friends. The atmosphere was relaxed, the food was great and well priced as were the drinks. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Our grand puppy was welcome (and very well behaved). Would definitely recommend this pub!

We only sat in the pub garden with our dogs. Lovely quiet area. Plenty of seating. When we got drinks, there were more than could be carried so a member of staff offered to bring the rest out. So great service. What more could you ask for? They even escorted one of the dogs who had snuck into the bar back to us!!!

We were invited out to lunch by friends who insisted they pay. Pub had lost our booking, table was by ladies loo, service was appallingly bad, kitchen slow and couldn’t get the orders correct, food terrible (despite the embarrassment of friends paying I still sent the pudding back…), every order had to be paid for as they could not run a bill. Service as I said was appalling largely because they did not have a clue as to what the role should be, management appeared to be non existent and hygiene and cleanliness left a lot to be desired. We live in the village and thought things might have improved since the latest attempt to relaunch the pub, just got worse……it is clear this pub cannot operate successfully as a community pub and it is very evident that those responsible have little or no experience or understanding of what is needed. I try not to write negative reviews, I normally just put it down to a poor experience and one to be avoided in the future..after three days I felt I had to document my experience.

4 of us had the fish n chips on Friday 15th march, it was awful. The fish was like something you would get frozen from Iceland . My sister inlaws fish was no bigger than a fish finger, minted peas like bullets. Also only 3 desserts on the menu and they didn't have 2 of them.very very disappointing and embarrassing as we had recommended the place .plus point bar staff were very friendly but will not be returning for food . Yours a very hungry and unhappy customer

Everything was great..nice relaxed atmosphere, food was really good, games available to play with the kids. Nice service. Good to have the pub back open.

Opening for 2024 on 6th Feb. New menu - very tasty. Great to see Cat Asylum beer on handpump! Come and enjoy.

Called in fir drinks on Xmas Eve. Great atmosphere

Went for new years eve ,was told by staff cannot reserve tables ,so get there for 6 ,as food is being served 6,30 -8,30, so got there for 6 , there was a table for about 12 reserved , so OK, however chef kept coming out and looking at this table ,and saying not here yet ,as soon as they arrived at 7,30 ,food then came out , food was OK, band was good x

Sufficient parking is available off the main road. Stopped for drinks as food was not served. Fabulous service was able to try samples of a couple of lagers, which was a nice touch. Recommended.

Had a lovely Sunday dinner this afternoon it was delicious me & my sister couldn't fault the food at all 😋 it's worth every penny, had a starter, Sunday dinner then finished it off with a pudding ,the service was quick & professional & would highly recommend Sunday lunches at the Royal Oak at Collingham.

Regularly visit this stunning pub. Food is fab atmosphere wonderful staff are very welcoming. Love the different theme events and music. Definitely going to the Soul and Motown night on 18th November 23 the last one was buzzing .

Table booked for 6 indoor with dog, arrived only 4 indoor 2 sat outside with dog, us two outside ordered food at 2 and asked for a refund as no food by almost 3, lovely birthday treat out ruined! Seemed to be utter chaos as next table had order delivered wrong! Avoid! They Put the fault at the new chef!

Went for sunday lunch today. Phoned to book for 6 and a dog. When we arrived they said dog!! So our friends went and sat outside whilst we ate in the restaurant. The food was really nice but we had to share the greens out between the four of us. Meanwhile, our friends who sat outside never got their food after an hour so requested a refund. I would have given 5 stars for our service but cant ignore our friends in the beer garden who did t get to eat. We caravan regular in the area and would we eat there again. No.

A little bit late As we visited this pub restaurant Last October after dropping our daughter to Lossiemouth There was traffic, roads closed and delays so we went a little off piste and came across this lovely pub with the best food for a long journey ahead of us Highly recommend with there community sprit

Not enough vegatables, with Sunday lunch, only got carrots and parsnip, no stuffing served with the turkey or pork? What I had tasted nice, but I was disappointed with the meal, dessert was ok. I didn't feel it was value for money at all. Had to have 2 courses for £21.95 no option just to have 1 course. Didn't have a problem paying that price, but felt it was over priced. Sadly won't return. Lovely pub though

Probably the worst experience, staff training definitely needed. Called to confirm opening times for resteraunt food and informed then I would be be coming to eat. Arrived an hour later to be told they are fully booked, my fault according to the staff.

Delicious Sunday lunch we had the roast beef, wonderful staff smiley and friendly cant do enough for you . very clean also . we will come back next time we are staying at Newark caravan park .

Really nice food £14.50 for a roast which was excellent. However ! They charged me £3.00 for a pint of soda and a splash lime cordial which I thought was a bit greedy.
