From the first time we visited Kelham House me and my partner knew it was the place we wanted to get married. The venue is stunning and the staff were really friendly from the very first meeting. It was nearly 2 years between us booking and the wedding taking place and although we had 3 wedding co-ordinates due to varying circumstances we always felt like our special day was well taken care off. The day itself went perfectly and was expertly ran by the Kelham house team, nothing was too much hassle. The food and canapés were delicious and all of our guests were complimentary about the food. The rooms were really comfy and breakfast in the morning was again really really good. We would recommend Kelham House and the team to anyone that asked.

We would like to thank Kelham House for hosting our daughter's wedding on 8th September 2024. A special thank you to Anna and her team on the day. Nothing was to much trouble and everyone was so professionally and courteous and treated everyone with the utmost respect. There was a problem with one of the rooms but Anna soon rectified it. The breakfast was amazing and plentiful. Would certainly recommend Kelham House for any special event.

Venue was wonderful but I am sorry to say the service did not add up to the venue Food was poor - soup tasted out of a tin , main course cold , desert mediocre - shop bought meringue nests No tea and coffee after the meal We were on table 1 and were served after tables 2and 3 . the last table was served their main when we were getting desert - appalling !

Great wedding venue. Really really nice. Only thing was the staff were young and not trained enough and came across rude. But obviously everyone has to start somewhere

Our daughter has just held her wedding at Kelham House. The whole event was above and beyond our expectations. The venue itself is stunning. We were lucky that weather turned out to be lovely after a wet and windy start, so we were able to spend a lot of time outside. The younger ones really enjoyed being able to run around the grounds. The staff all deserve a mention from Claire the coordinator, Amy who couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful, always checking if we needed anything, young Josh with the curly hair who was adorable and friendly, the waiting on staff during the meal , the bar staff especially the ones who stayed late and the cleaning ladies who worked so hard to turn everything around from the days wedding before. You all deserve a medal. Everyone enjoyed the three course meal and the breakfast the next morning deserves its own mention……outstanding, there was so much the choose from. All in all, if I could I would give 10 stars instead of 5 lol. If you are considering using Kelham for your special event, there is no need to hesitate.

We had a wonderful wedding day at Kelham House. All the staff were brilliantly organised, helpful and enthusiastic and made the planning process easy and made the day run smoothly. It is a beautiful venue in a very private setting with some amazing views and photo opportunities. The food was also delicious. All in all and absolutely amazing wedding venue. We would highly recommend!

We had an excellent 'private dining' lunch today at Kelham House for my Dad's 80th birthday. Lauren and Brad looked after us really well. We were made to feel very welcome, the service was really attentive and the food was just excellent. Our room looked lovely and was ideal. We enjoyed sitting out on the patio (adjacent our room) afterwards in the sunshine. We chose Kelham House after looking at a few venues and we were not disappointed. We'd definitely return. It was so nice to have such good customer service. Thank you to Lauren and to Brad for 'hosting' us.

I held a wonderful personal and spiritual growth day at Kelham House in July and would absolutely hold another one. The venue is lovely with beautiful grounds and Lauren and the team couldn't do enough to help. The room was set up beautifully, pastries and bacon baps greeted my guests on arrival, lunch was delicious and we were able to eat on the patio (one of the few lovely sunny days in July this year) - all in all, a beautiful venue with a team that are there to support you and ensure your event goes wonderfully.

Attended a conference and had a great day, beautiful building and grounds and Lauren really looked after us, lunch went down a treat too!

I came here for a friends beautiful wedding and wow just wow! The place was absolutely stunning the day went so perfectly the staff was incredible and so helpful, such a lovely day! Would highly recommend this stunning venue to get married at!

We had our wedding here 9 weeks ago and could not fault anything. Claire and Team Kelham were so attentive to every request from us and our guests. Nothing was too much trouble, even with our specific requests. We fell in love with this venue immediately. The perfect venue for our amazing day

Based on the experience we had, and we were just popping in for a tour, you wouldn't go wrong with this venue! Literally drove up to the door, and we were given the time of day to answer questions, and provide the kind of hospitality guests should receive. We attended the wedding of my daughter at Kelham, the staff were great. Organisation was poor according to my daughter. Pity about the chipped crockery, the over large Yorkshire puddings, over crisp on the outside and undercooked on the inside, fatty stringy beef sliced so thin you could almost see through it ( 2 slices). For the price you pay for the wedding you’d think the bar price mark up would be less (£15 for a wine and pint!!) The room (£145) had a faux leather settee and chairs, no cushions. no glasses in the bathroom, no complimentary shampoo ( Kelham quote- we’re saving the earth by not providing plastic - never heard of refillable containers like other hotels ( even travel lodge do it)) Chipped crockery at breakfast ( the cooked one was nice) and soup spoons laid for cereals. overall couldn't recommend it.

Attended a wedding here recently. Venue was lovely, nice function room, staff were enjoying themselves to the band which is great to see, turnarounds between weddings seemed a little tight. Breakfast in the morning after was also nice. Easily accessible from A1 & A46 at Newark.

We had our Wedding Breakfast/Reception at Kelham House - it was put together with venue dressing by Moonstruck Event Hire They did us proud A small wedding, 20 of us, we chose to use the bar/breakfast room to make full use of the outside space and sunlight flooding in through the doors and windows Food, 3 courses, was exceptional - remarkably better than when we came to sample it a few weeks earlier - no waste at all. EVERYONE but EVERYONE complimented us about it We arranged our own cake and wedding singer, both were treated with respect and were enabled and assisted to set up as per our wishes We can’t compliment the staff/Katie enough, they were totally attentive to our needs and those of our guests We got exactly what we paid for and have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them to others who are looking for a very special venue for their wedding

2 years ago we chose Kelham House Country Manor to host our wedding on 08.06.24. This was the best decision we ever made. We have since read recent, not so positive reviews and can only say these portrait the exact opposite of our experience. From our very first meeting with Claire Simpson the level of service we have received has been absolutely first class. We had the most fantastic day and the team at Kelham House Country Manor could not do enough, going above and beyond our expectations. Every single one of our guests commented positively about every single aspect of the day. Kelham House Country Manor really is a fantastic venue with a superb team, who delivered a 6 Star level of service ******. We really cannot recommend them more! Our heart felt thanks to Claire and her amazing team for giving us the perfect day to remember. Mr & Mrs H 🥰

Kelham house has the potential to be a very nice venue, the location is lovely and the room for the ceremony was beautiful, the management and service of the place just let's it down unfortunately. We attended for a wedding, as mentioned, the ceremony and wedding breakfast were lovely. The venue provides back to back weddings, therefore the previous day's guest have not always left by the time the new guests have arrived for the current wedding. This led to several of the party's guest being woken at 7am by the new bride and guest arriving to get ready for their day. Previous guests are also walking about/having breakfast as the new guests are getting ready which can make it all feel a little intrusive for everyone. We stayed in the rooms on site and the quick changeover meant that the rooms were not cleaned/checked properly between guests. A pair of ladies knickers were left in our room on arrival, the extractor fan in the bathroom did not work leading to a damp smelling bathroom and wet floors when we checked in at 5pm. The toilet looked as if it had not been scrubbed for a while as there was a film under the water line coming away from the bowl. The bathrooms did not look as if they had been cleaned well. On the plus side the rooms were very quiet and the beds were lovely and comfortable. The worst was an emergency light in the hotel rooms, a type which is usually used for emergency exits in corridors or large resturants/venues etc and not hotel rooms. The light had a very bright green LED battery light which shone very brightly once all the lights were off, leading to a rather sleeplessness night (thank goodness for the left over pants which worked as a cover for said light). If your risk assessment requires an emergency lighting, please swap it to the spotlight type where the battery light isn't as bright as its really isn't great for sleeping. Breakfast the following morning was cramped with chairs back to back and not enough room for all of those paying for breakfast, with only a 45min timeslot for breakfast it wasn't easy for guests to take it in turns for breakfast if that's what management had planned for. Jugs and food trays left unfilled even though staff were watching, no glasses provided when jugs were filled, which we feel was down to untrained staff that morning. The venue is down as a 4 star, and at £155 a night I would expect more, and to be honest there are chain hotels which provide better facilities and service so I would actually say the venue is a 3 star. There is no offical reception or obvious duty manager to make any complaints to but I will email the venue with this as well as this review. It's such as shame as this venue has so much potential to be absolutley wonderful, but I think the turnaround between weddings is what let's this venue down.

My daughter had her wedding here recently and she was very happy with it however there were some things I feel could be improved. The room we stayed in the curtains were ripped and did not close properly and hanging off, with no toiletries in the bathroom for a luxury hotel. At one point, I heard a staff member swear at another while there was a room full of guests. The breakfast area could be better it's too small for the number of tables we were unable to sit comfortably. There were also not enough tables for our wedding party. Staff were standing around when tables needed cleaning off. we had to ask for ceral bowls as none out same for glasses. The toaster needs replacing it just burns the bread. The food was okay though. Weddings taking place everyday I was woken at 7am by the next wedding party. No definite reception I didn't know where to collect or give room key back and no staff about to ask. My daughter had arranged for tea and coffee to be available all day however this did not happen. She had provided big jars of biscuits for her guests but as no tea or coffee they were sat on the sweet cart next morning she found out the jars had been emptied and she wasn't asked did she want them back. If you chose this venue for a wedding make sure you get what was paid for.

Very nice place, beautiful gardens, afternoon tea is delicious. Helpful staff, rooms are clean and tidy.

Wonderful wedding venue and superb staff

We didn't stay here but we was at a wedding. Service could have been better especially for the wedding breakfast. Not many seats when having to vacate the function room for redressing ie, from Service to the wedding breakfast and then for the evening event.

Grand and the food was great with good ambiance.

Firstly, a massive thank you to Claire and all the team at Kelham House for giving us the most amazing wedding day. From the first moment we walked in to look around, we knew that Kelham House was our wedding venue. Yes, the venue is beautiful. Sure, the grounds are stunning. However, it is the team that make the place so desirable. We were treated like family from the very first conversation with Claire. Throughout the entire planning process, every request was met with a smile and nothing was ever too much trouble. Claire provided fantastic recommendations for photographers and decorations and as these are suppliers they've worked with in the past, they know the venue and the team and it just makes everything run seamlessly. We started to come to think of Kelham House as a second home and as such when the big day came it just worked out perfectly. Holding our ceremony outside was a truly unforgettable experience in the beautiful grounds, and using the same grounds to entertain our guests with garden games and fireworks as the night progressed made it exactly how we wanted our wedding to be. The food was fantastic, seeing an army of staff bringing food out to the tables was a sight to behold and testament to the professional nature of the entire team at Kelham House. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much to everyone at Kelham House, you were amazing and provided us with memories that will live with us forever.

Went for a wedding reception. The location, grounds and function rooms are well presented, clean and pretty. Only downside was the price of the drinks at both function bars, by 7pm they had run out of glassware, so drinks were served in odd glasses still warm from the washer. For £7.20 for a single house gin and tonic, it was a little disappointing.

Our daughter had her wedding ceremony here. The wedding breakfast was amazing, everything was hot and well presented. The evening buffet was also fantastic. The staff are absolutely fantastic! Nothing was too much trouble and they were so friendly. I cannot thank the staff enough and I definitely highly recommend for any event 👌 I will certainly return. Thank you again for making my daughter and son in law day so special.

We booked my wedding at Kelham House Country Manor in 2021 after our wedding was cancelled twice from another venue. Claire Rawson was extremely friendly, kind and accommodating. She made us feel at ease and was thorough during all our appointments. We are so glad we came to Claire as she organized our day into something spectacular. She went above and beyond for us, and her team were fantastic, she had an eye for detail when it came to our wedding, and she listened to us every step of the way. Our day turned our perfect even if the day was against us, Claire and her team were by our side the whole way. The food was delicious, and all our guests had nothing but compliments! We really had the best day and Kelham House made that possible for us! We cannot thank Claire and her team enough for everything they had done for us and there is nowhere else we would have had this experience.

Attend a function here which I have done previously. The food is served in an annexe which is extremely cold as there is no heating. The food whilst on the whole was good the jacket potatoes were over cooked to the point of being close to burnt

Staff are lovely, venue is beautiful, absolutely loved it here. The staff accommodated everything asked, constantly checking if everything is okay and offering help. Gorgeous venue for weddings, highly suggest if you need service with a smile, help and a beautiful place. Breakfast was amazing, both the handed out and buffet. In the evenings the staff where on everything you needed help with. Every staff member was brilliant. My only minors were, it was cold and the heating kept going off in the main building which meant we were freezing (kids crawled into bed with me and we had our own extra fleece blanket) Staff switched it on just takes a while to heat the room. (But it's an old style building so boilers have issues) Several people stated that there beds were far too firm and very uncomfortable mattresses. (I moved into the pull out bed once kids got in mine and that was easier to sleep in) The side building was a sauna when going over, but access to your own digital thermostat to change this. Suggestions for updates with the manor if they ever get the funding: Windows replaced from wood to double glazing, boulder and heating replacements, with the same thermostat system they have in the other building and new mattresses that are not so hard. Every place has its issues but despite the issues the staff did everything to sort and make it comfortable, stress free and helped our every need.

Great place for afternoon tea. Fantastic location

We went for a wedding, overall it was a beautiful day, but a couple of things let it down. The wedding ceremony took place outside and 5 minutes before the bride was due to walk down the Isle the staff decided to roll out the carpet which was covered in dirt and old confetti and shook the carpet out and it went all over the guests. Not impressed due to being in best clothes, it was pretty disgusting, plus old confetti and cigarette butts were in the grass which looked a mess. When dinner was served some of the staff were a little sloppy in their serving style and gave the vegetarians the meat dishes. Like I said, overall the day was lovely and the staff friendly.

We had our Civil & Hindu Wedding/Reception Party at Kelham House Country Manor and we have to thank both Claire's for being amazing and not to forget the Team - They were superb! Not only were they fantastic hosts but also enjoyed a good party which made it extra special! From the day we met Claire.S to start wedding planning to the morning that we checked out, she and the Team couldn't have done anymore for us, our family and friends - to the point in which my now husband spoke about them more then me in his speech but they deserved it! Weeding party & over night at the single storey room beside. Normal style Hall like other weddings hall. Room very good standard in room ( not outside ) . Feel like 4 star . If high request for photography might be not enough spots.

Booked a wake in the garden room. Claire was fabulous, she made the whole process easy. We had afternoon tea and the bar was open. The rooms are £135 per night per room with breakfast and we had guests who stayed and they really liked it. All in all beautifully organised, great food, staff and location. A perfect send off.

As a wedding venue its lovely, BUT the chamber maids need to pay more attention to detail to the cleanliness of the guests rooms, between guests, for the money paid to stay in rooms that was appalling

My wife and I got married here a few weeks back and we have to say we are so glad we chose Kelham House. The staff were so friendly, the food was incredible and nothing was too much bother for them The venue is situated in woodlands, which has produced some really nice photos from our photographer. They also have the option to get married outdoors which was one of the biggest selling points for us, even if it rained! We love it so much, I wish we could do it all again

Lovely wedding venue and hotel. We stayed at Kelham Manor Country House for the weekend of our wedding (which was at Kelham Hall opposite the Manor). The staff were incredible from the start of our stay. We had an amazing weekend at Kelham, service, the breakfast and the bar were great throughout. The venue itself is also lovely for a wedding and the grounds are lovely. Would definitely recommend!

We had our wedding here on 5th March, fantastic venue and very well organised. Ideal for weddings of 100 people or less. We had fireworks in the grounds and the venue comes with 12 bedrooms so family can enjoy the day without worrying about getting home. Very well ran and excellent staff, thanks for making our day go so smoothly.

Great venue for weddings and fireworks

We had our 2nd wedding reception here after getting married in Croatia a few weeks previous. Clare and the entire team were fantastic and were running around after us and our guests all night. A big thank you to clare (both Clares!), the waiter staff, barman, DJ and everyone else. Thanks

We arranged an afternoon tea in the garden view room for 55 guests in June 2021. The food sandwiches, deserts, hot drinks and soft drinks were all on point,. All our guests really enjoyed our time here. We received such a great service from start to end. The staff were all so professional, and would promptly respond to any email or phone enquires, the manager Jon-paul was lovely and showed us around the property on short notice. Highly highly recommend this venue for any of your events. Thankyou so much to everyone at the venue that made our day special.

Spent a night there..place is lovely.. breath of fresh air.. rooms are clean and very spacious..the food is tasty..very..and staff are polite, professional.pity my stay was cut short...would def go back..highly recommended..

My son is getting married here next year and we went for a meeting to discuss arrangements. I was immediately struck by the homely and relaxed atmosphere it didn't feel like somewhere I had never visited before. Very clean and tidy and the few staff we met we're very friendly. I'm really looking forward to our stay here and the wedding. I will update this post afterwards.

Lovely venue, could of had a couple more people on the bars as was very busy

Recently got married here, on 30th November, and it was everything we could have dreamed of. We had both our ceremony and reception at the venue. From the day we booked the venue, to the late AMs on the night of the wedding, the staff at Kelham House we absolutely fantastic. No request was too much, and everything was thought of. Samantha, the events coordinator was always on hand to calm my panic and answer every question I threw her way. I cannot praise her enough! The venue itself is wonderful. Log fires were burning, we were able to decorate the whole venue with our exclusive use package, and had complimentary use of the sweet cart! The grounds are fantastic, even in the foggy weather which just made it that much more magical during our photos!! The food was delicious, and all allergies and preferences were catered for. I would recommend Kelham House and their incredible staff to every couple looking for a cozy, intimate wedding that has charm and that little extra something. The bedrooms are all unique and made us all feel very pampered. Definitely will be coming back here!

We were there for the Thoroton Society annual lunch. The food was good. The staff were excellent

There for political lunch. Food and service very good, bar has interesting beers (not cheap). Sound system with portable mike for speeches was worse than useless - screeches and clicks; we had to abandon trying to use it. Car park quite large; just as well as half was under water after heavy rain!

Just ate at kelham house ,what a joke this place is service is diabolical, no one knows what they are doing its a real shame as the setting is lovely and the food isnt bad ,will not be dining here again it was a special occasion a birthday for my mother and this as spoilt a lovely day thanks very much 😕
