A great chippy with good friendly service. Would always recommend this chippy in Newark.

Pensioner’s fish and chips (still a big helping) plus mushy peas, total cost seven pounds. Quality of traditional F’n’Cs spectacular. Newark is full of great chippies but this is the best!

First time here, had kebab, fish, chips and peas, as well as chicken wings. All the food was great tasting, the kebab was one of the best I have had in a long time. Highly recommend, and the owners are lovely friendly people

Fantastic all round, clean place and a great selection Living in the states I was so excited to have proper fish and chips for a long while It didn’t disappoint, the cod was flakey and succulent and the batter perfectly light and crispy The chips were fantastic and the peas a perfect side Highly recommended

Visited as heard it was nice. It wasn't . I was unlucky I guess . Wasn't the best . Shame . Server ate one of my chips offf the tray too.

Had very nice gluten free fish and chips from here. Everything was freshly cooked to order. The batter was light and crisp and the fish was flakey, the chips were perfect, fluffy on the inside and not soggy on the outside. 2 x small cod, small chips and bottle of water £16.00, excellent value would highly recommend.

Has to be the worse chip shop ever, the women in charge is rude and creates an awkward atmosphere among customers along with her own staff, the food is very average and she roll’s up chips that tight in paper they basically became a ball of spud..ordered cod what we received was no cod and was some thick skinned anemic mush.

Called in this evening as I was driving past at tea time and decided to give the chippy ago. Lovely crisp chips not greasy at all they were 10/10 chips for sure ✔️ we had 4 meals and everyone said how nice their meal was! The chippy had a steady flow of people coming in to buy their tea/supper. I will definitely be marking this place for a return visit when I’m back in the area. Lovely owners /staff who enjoyed the through put of customers making a friendly chippy atmosphere. I review a lot of chip shops up and down the country the food from here is very good and well in the top ten places to get a chippy tea from.

Stopped off at Mr Chips while in newark at lunchtime, what a great little find, although I only had chips and gravy I was shocked to see a bad teview on tje chips they where fantastic and reasonably prices £3.75 for angood size tray. Definitely be back.

Very nice place to have fish and chips.

Went on Monday for fish and chips to take back to a campsite 15mins away for dinner for me and my family. The chips were good, but the fish was amazing, had a lightly battered large cod and it was stunning. I don't leave serious reviews often but this was that good I really needed to post here. Thank you Mr Chips, thank you.

A very Big Thank You to Mr Chips and All their staff, from the crew of the Newark Crusader. Mr Chips supplied us with 78 portions of superb fish and chips and 3 great veggie burgers and chips, on the Sonning boat fund raiser in aid of The Newark Crusader charity. The food was enjoyed by all!

This is my local chippy, the staff are always super friendly and have a laugh with you. Food is decent, I especially like the wings, they do different flavours on different days. Chip portion sizes are good

Fish was freshly fried on entering, informed that I had a distance to travel with the takeaway and they additionally wrapped it all in foil to keep warm.

Popped in yesterday, best fish and chips I've ever had. Certainly will pop in next time I drop off at train station 👍fish clean,crispy and fresh chips lovely and soft.

No comment on the food. Ordered food for delivery at 7pm. No delivery made for over 1hr30 after the order. The excuse given on having to chase up for our food was the property could not be found after giving detailed and clear directions (no call to us was attempted to help direct either). Avoid.

Mr No Chips! Waited nearly 2 hours for chips that never turned up and they didn't have the decency to call me back to tell me, I said I was staying in an Air B&B so by the time I found out they weren't turning up everywhere was shut including supermarkets so I had no food that night. I would not recommend this fish shop!!

Good price and friendly staff, but I bought a pie and was told it was vegan only to discover (after eating it) that it was vegetarian instead (as it contained cheese). After calling to confirm the pie wasn't vegan, the person I spoke to was apologetic and said he would pass the info on to the person that served us. I'm not allergic to milk, thankfully, but this could have been a very different outcome if I was. I would advise anyone with an allergy to double check the ingredients in their order before purchasing as staff may not be correctly informed and it's not worth the risk.

Got to be one of the best chip shops i have ever visited. chips are the best and plenty of them. they do spare ribs and kebabs top place. WE ARE ALL lincoln fans and use this place after games on the way back to London..............can`t be missed.

Chips where very nice and hot kebab wrap was nice but I'm afraid the savaloy was bland and fish cake as well was bland pickled onions where really soft

Ask for salt and vinegar and the fish was coated in it. I found a hair in the chips. Was told to take my mask off while inside the shop. Very bad experience wont be returning

I stopped off here on my way back from an appt @ a Nottingham Hospital, I have been here before but I think it may have changed hands since my last visit. On entering the premises you can immediately tell it's spotlessly clean, everything is well presented.and the fish is cooked to order, the service is with a smile and my order tasted really nice and non greasy. Keep up those high standards.

Lovely fish, chips and curry sauce. Had small special at £5 and it was a very generous portion. Cooked to perfection and curry sauce was outstanding. Would return again.
