We dined on a Friday evening and it was surprisingly quiet. The food was superb!! The starters and the mains were both excellent. Brilliant quality of meat (especially the brisket!!). Looking forward to our next visit. We really enjoyed it. Probably the best Thai we’ve had in Newark

Service was good, food wasn’t great. Noodles tasted like they had been mixed in a cheap supermarket sweet and sour sauce. Other dish was nice but average at best.

Had a meal booked with my partner as we were staying the night a few doors down. Service was flawless. Very attentive and friendly and ensuring we had our water topped up. Food was absolutely delicious and flavourful. Very reasonably priced :) Had the prawn crackers, cocktail soup (enjoyed it so much forgot to take a photo until the last few mouthfuls), mocktail, chips, sweet and sour chicken and coconut rice. Enjoyed every bit. Highly recommended *****

The staff were very friendly and attentive, the food was tasty but expensive for what it was, we had the set menu which was ok but I was not blown away by the flavours, the seabass was quite dry and mainly tasted of sweet chilli sauce which was a shame.

The best thai i have ever eaten, everything was delicious and tasted so fresh. We had the pad thai and was full of flavour as well as the salt and pepper squid and beef. We will be returning for sure!

I can’t believe we haven’t eaten here before, the food is incredible! It’s a shame we live in London (where we are spoilt for choice of Thai restaurants but none even come close to this one), but luckily we have links to here so we do come often enough. And now this will be our favourite place to eat. Both the five spice duck and the beef brisket are out of this world. Can’t wait to come again!

We visit Ma Ma Thai for lunch on our first visit to Newark. We just took a chance and so pleased we did! We had one of the best meals I've had outside of Thailand. We started with the classic Thai starter selection of satay, spring rolls, fish cakes, prawns etc and it was all delicious - spring rolls and fish cakes can be quite uninspiring but these were so fresh with first class ingredients and so way above average. We followed this with curries which were also excellent. I look forward to another visit and trying more dishes. The quality was outstanding, fresh and authentic. The only thing I missed was salad. I love Thai salads and would have liked to have seen some on the menu.

We decided last minute to eat here, so glad we did as we had been when it first opened and wasn’t impressed. We were greeted by two lovely ladies who welcomed us. The food was amazing so tasty! We did eat early 6.30 and by the end of our meal the restaurant was full. Plenty of choices on the menu’s for meat eaters and vegetarians . We shall definitely be visiting again and highly recommend this restaurant

Had a delicious lunch, deliberately chose different things so we could try and all was delicious. Very authentic Thai food with lovely flavourings. Attentive but non intrusive service made it all the better. Had previously experienced their food as take away but the dining in experience was better.

I’ve only been here once but the food was so good. It’s a small menu which keeps it simple and probably helps with the kitchen for them to ensure your food has the best fresh ingredients. The calamari starter was excellent with the sweet chilli dipping sauce which brought it to another level. I had food envy for everyone’s dishes at they came out. The Tai Green curry was excellent. Would thoroughly recommend trying this place.

Decided to eat dinner here after the cinema. What a great choice that was! We decided to go for one of their set meals and it was absolutely delicious. The chicken green curry was a particular highlight. The restaurant and food are all beautifully presented too. The staff were very helpful and polite. We will definitely be back.

The food was horrible as the chicken meat was rubbery and not crispy at all the salad was wilted and black as if it was heated up from yesterday. The soup was also horrible as the mushrooms did not look fresh and the prawns did not seem fresh ether when I bit it they had weird grainy texture. I was afraid to eat this food. Disappointed...

Disappointed with the quality, flavour and price performance of the dishes here. Prawn Pad Thai: Extremely Sweet unpleasent stir fry sauce. Prawns tasteless. Chicken masamman and Rice: Dry and flavourless chicken in sweet curry sauce. Rice was of poor quality. Prawn Dumplings: Minced Prawn wrapped in dumpling sheet. Not pleasant to bite and eat. Lacked flavour. Veg spring rolls: Great and delicious. Very quick delivery via Deliveroo. Will not be ordering from here again as it was not cheap for what it delivered. All the best.

absolutely shocking customer service. first of all, we reserved a table prior to arriving and we were excited to come eat here since we wanted to celebrate our anniversary. upon arrival, we were quickly told that our booking is not written down and had to wait standing up for a long time as the lady at the front goes to the back of the kitchen to sort the issue. this wouldn’t have been an issue if I wasn’t in crutches, but this lady who greeted us at the front not only left us hanging at the front of the restaurant but showed absolutely no consideration for someone who is clearly in pain and in crutches on top of all things. even as I am writing this I am in great pain caused by that lady’s lack of concern and empathy for her customers. as an employee who works for a restaurant or any establishment, it should be the bare minimum to at least give a seat to the person who is clearly injured/disabled and to be neglected especially when you are injured/disabled and struggle to stand up. it is truly shocking to know that even in this day and age there are actual grown adults working in the public sector who lack the absolute bare minimum manners and consideration towards their customers. it is so unfortunate that I’m saying this as the food is truly incredible and all the other employees were lovely. unfortunately, it’s only that one lady who genuinely lacks any sort of empathy, social skills and consideration towards the customers, aka the people who put money in YOUR pockets.

First time to visit this establishment and overall were not disappointed. We did have a long wait for the food to arrive. Normally this is not too much of an issue but annoying when two other tables were served quite some time before us when they came in later than us. The food however, was well worth waiting for. The prawn dumplings were mouth watering. We will visit again

Good basic Thai food but could do with some more interesting dishes on the menu. Thought it was expensive, £45pp for a set menu and a shared bottle of wine (bottle from Asda across the road 🙈) Staff were friendly, although a little slow on service. I enjoyed the Green Thai curry and the prawn dumpling in the starter but was disappointed with the rest. I might not return ☹️

We came here for a New years eve meal and it was fantastic. The portions were massive and we couldn’t eat everything so had to take a doggy bag. The service was fast and we had two courses and drinks in less than an hour. Food was perfectly balanced, especially the curry- it was exceptional. We will definitely be visiting again soon. We absolutely loved the table decorations too, little touches like that make the experience even better - the napkins even smelt of fresh washing so you could tell that they take cleanliness seriously in there.

This restaurant has really excellent food, and the service is good. However, the drinks are terrible. We paid £3.50 each for 'Folkington's Freshly Pressed Juices' only to watch the waitress pull a carton of Asda's juice out of the fridge and pour some into a glass.

Went there with 3 friends today in Newark. Food was excellent, service was very friendly and efficient. Would definitely recommend this great Thai restaurant. There were no other customers at the time. but don't let that put you off - this place is a little gem.
