The best restaurants in Derbyshire Dales East Midlands

Staying in Buxton for a few days and wanted a nice restaurant to eat in. We hadn’t booked but this wasn’t an issue. Friendly, pleasant staff, nice atmosphere, good menu and the restaurant was spotlessly clean. The meals were freshly cooked, lovely and hot and really tasty. Excellent value for money too, we would definitely recommend!

Great setting. Elegant dining room. But let down by slow service - one hour wait for food to be served - menu inaccurate, food appeared to have been kept warm in kitchen for too long, not good quality ingredients. For that quality overpriced.

We have eaten here on numerous occasions and never been disappointed. The menu is varied and not expensive. It was a very busy day but the staff were professional, helpful and efficient. The food was well presented and tasty. recommended.

Great location, could take both dogs and they were made welcome! Right on the doorstep of some fabulous walking. Room, basic, clean and comfortable. Restaurant was busy so service a little slow but food was good. Breakfast was substantial and tasty. Only criticism was finding the bar with no staff a couple of times....that said, they were busy. Would recommend and will definitely go back 😀

Great food great customer service

Stopped here on the way home from holiday for a quick lunch. The young lady serving was very efficient and friendly. A slight wait for lunch but we had just ordered behind 2 other tables. We both had sandwiches. Mine was enormous, fish goujons, it was very tasty

We called in today after purchasing new boots from the shop below. There is a HUGE sign on the door directing you to the doggy seating area which my dog and I completely missed but the proprietor was very nice and we had a laugh about my eyesight! The traybakes were absolutely delicious and the drinks were great- excellent value will be back

It is a nice , clean and cosy restaurant.Staff were very friendly and welcoming. We mainly ordered pizza's and it was delicious. I ordered wild mushroom risotto but unfortunately what I got was just rice and mushrooms. I was disappointed with my food and regret ordering it.

We visited Buddys on Saturday evening for my grandson Buddies birthday. My son had booked for the 4 of them, and I went online on Saturday to tag 2 more onto their booking. It all got a little confusing. I was really pleased when Lewis went out of his way to give me a call and sort it out. I explained it was a birthday, etc. When he found out my grandsons name was Buddie he said he would try and do something special for him. When we arrived, he had sorted a birthday balloon and some sweets for Buddie which was a lovely touch. The food was delicious and all the staff were very helpful. Lewis made sure we were looked after all evening and went out of his way to ensure that the birthday boy had enjoyed himself. He is an asset to your business.

Great location, we were lucky with the weather so ate outside. Sara was lovely. Small menu but we all found something we liked. Great value food. Will be back

Superb Al fresco breakfast in a lovely courtyard right in the heart of this ancient historic village. Quality of ingredients was superb, the tea was delicious and the environment was delightful. I would heartily recommend

Well what a horrible place. Keep hearing that pubs are closing at a rate of 7 / week yet this is still trading! How? Must be the only pub in derbyshire that doesnt allow dogs yet walkers with filthy boots are ok. Miserable barman and very slow service

Incredibly good hearty locally produced breakfast, has to be the best breakfast I’ve ever had in my life, The other half the same, this place is very reasonably priced and in a very quaint town. Loved it thank you. Geordie Kate Dutch and Dylan the dogs
