Well what a horrible place. Keep hearing that pubs are closing at a rate of 7 / week yet this is still trading! How? Must be the only pub in derbyshire that doesnt allow dogs yet walkers with filthy boots are ok. Miserable barman and very slow service

Just had a lovely two night stay with another couple! Had both the rooms available with a connecting entrance to the rooms! The rooms were on the small side but were very clean and comfortable with excellent WiFi connection! Bed was a standard double but very comfortable! Views across the fields were stunning! Hosts were very friendly and helpful without being intrusive! Even the locals in the pub were friendly! The food at dinner and breakfast was beautifully cooked and very filling!! Will definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it!!!

Such a shame - we ordered steaks and I checked with staff whether it was a pub that you ordered a rare in order to get a medium rare he assured us that it wasn’t so we went ahead and ordered 2 medium rare - my husbands was amazing but mine was very obviously cooked - I asked and left plenty for the cook to see it was not medium rare and No I didn’t send it back straight away as trusted them and are onion ring and mushrooms - no feedback after our puddings asked the waitress and the answer was she will try to do better next time we go - soo disappointed would have loved it to be more of a local for us - but will not be going back found the whole experience extremely rude - I expect it is because they have enough custom to not need to try for any more - it’s a shame

Always plenty of people who have just called in for a drink. All the staff and other customers are welcoming. It's not posh or fine dining. It's a pub with well kept beer and good food both at sensible prices There are often interesting specials on the board. Good sized portions too. There is a lovely view across the fields from the garden. Blissfully, there is no music - just conversation. I live locally and for all the reasons above, we eat there regularly in preference to the more tourist orientated pubs nearby.

What a fantastic pub. Found by accident when browsing for somewhere to stay in the Peaks. Stayed 3 nights. Food superb. Great full English breakfast and good selection for evening meals and reasonably priced. Good home cooking and generous portions and all cooked fresh to order so didn't mind having to wait those few extra minutes. Our room, although not large, was clean and comfy with everything you could want and the bonus of own private courtyard if you didnt want to sit in the garden but who wouldn't with those beautiful views. Angela, Glynn and their staff were all very friendly without being 'in your face'. Could not fault the service. Thank you. Can't wait to return.

We were staying locally in Grindlow and decided to eat here on Saturday night as it was walkable, whereas the other pubs would have required driving… We were put on a tiny table hidden around the corner. It wasn’t busy, and it seemed like everyone in there knew each other, so your conversation really stood out. No music or ambience. The food was almost inedible. Zero flavour or seasoning. My girlfriend ordered ‘cod fillet in a white wine sauce with prawns’ off the special board. What came consisted of a rubbery, steamed piece of fish with frozen shrimps on top. Boiled vegetables and oven fries. No sign of any sauce, seasoning, salt, pepper, herbs, garlic - nothing. I had the steak because they had sold out of gammon. We could have cooked far better at home! It wasn’t super cheap either. The male barman was friendly and chatty, but the lady was quite standoffish and abrupt, and when we asked for a touch more lemonade in the gin she literally gave us a single spray. It was all quite odd. Beer’s we’re quite nice but overall, wouldn’t recommend.

We have eaten there a few times now. The food is always good and it's easy to find something fresh on the menu. The local lamb chops were excellent and the home made Bakewell tart was very good indeed. The staff are welcoming and friendly and it's both unusual and to be applauded that you are not merely tolerated if you just want a drink. They do a good pint of Farmer's Blonde too. No dogs allowed , but in every other respect, the best pub in the area.

Website claims "A warm welcome awaits you at The Queen Anne Inn". Well not in my experience. One of the customers (purporting to be a gentleman) was rude to us on the way in, the 'lady' behind the bar was grumpy, with a face like thunder and abrupt to the point of rudeness - we were really made to feel most unwelcome. We were informed it was darts and dominoes night and told (not asked) to sit at a particular table so as not to be in their way (right idea but it was all in the delivery). The lady we believe to be the landlady had been very helpful and very friendly earlier in the week and also on the evening in question. The young girl serving at table was cheerful and friendly. But despite that our evening had already been spoiled. The 'lady' in question really needs to be coached in customer service, to understand that service comes with a smile, it makes all the difference.

Six of us with a 10 week old baby, plus our Border Terrier had been refused by a "fine dining" pub in another local village because they won't have children under six in their pub. After all, children are so much better behaved when they turn seven! So, we phoned The Queen Anne early that morning to book lunch after our walk and found they have a far more inclusive attitude. We were accommodated in our own room aside from the main restaurant as we had a dog with us, which was perfect for us given we had the baby with us. The welcome was pleasant though reserved initially but we as soon as we started chatting with the landlord and lady we found them approachable and friendly. As for the food, it was quite simply the best pub lunch we have ever eaten, unanimously agreed, and we have had a few over the years. The quality of the food, the generosity of the servings, the taste and the very fair price, were all excellent. My wife and I were on our way home from a weekend in Bradwell and a kind friend of ours treated us to Sunday Lunch at The Queen Anne. This is a wonderful country pub in a gorgeous little village. We were warmly welcomed by Glynn the landlord who took our order. We ordered 2 beef dinners and a couple of lagers. The lager was great and the beef dinner was fantastic. Everything you could ask for in a Sunday Lunch. We decided to have another cheeky lager in the beer garden as it was nice day and the view was amazing. For dessert I had bread and butter pudding with cream and my wife had sticky toffee pudding with custard. Both were well presented and extremely tasty. We would definitely return if we are back in the area.

It's a pub with an ambiance that belies the days of English Pubs of yore: warm, cosy and good hand pulled beer. But we weren't here for the beer, but for the food in the smallest restaurant ever: 4 tablse max! BUT, but but but .... Here is contained a select menu and wine list that would do other more pretentious at twice the price "tourist" restaurants proud .... The food was very good: It was honest, simply sophisticated, and the 2 x steak deal including a bottle of very nice italian wine at £25 was a steal: the sirloin steak was cooked to perfection (If I do have a gripe, then the butcher could have hung it from say 8 days more as the rind-fat was not quite mature: should be juicy yellow when cooked ... !!! ... but, it was still excellent: 4.5 stars :)This was my 3rd visit to the Queen Anne in 4 years. The food each time has bettered itself, but for value for money and for the quality of the cooking that we had (all 7 of us) on Friday 18 Oct the Queen Anne should be considered as one of the top pubs for eats in : It's truly 5 stars. It's a hidden gem .... You'll have to find it and book in several days in advance.....

We ate at The Queen Anne during a week stay in the Peak District. It came recommended by a previous occupant of the cottage we stayed at in Eyam.Despite being midweek, out of season there were quite a few people in the pub, drinking and eating. The barmaid ( is that PC?) was really nice, helpful and chatty. We were looking at the menu and the specials board when she pointed out the steak and wine deal - two steaks plus a bottle of wine for £25. They also do a pizza and wine deal too - pizzas home made of course! We started with brie parcels with a sweet dipping sauce. they looked delicious and I was given a little to taste - they WERE delicious. I had Coquilles Saint-Jacques. Whilst the sauce was tasty I was a little disappointed with the pieces of scallop, which were very small and few in number. The main course however was excellent. Good cuts of steak, well cooked and really tender, served with proper chips, cut on the premises, crisp and chunky. Accompanied with a choice of sauces (another £2.50 for that, which is maybe a little on the expensive side for a small portion of sauce) we opted for the pepper corn and the blue cheese - both tasty.Too full for dessert we opted for coffee, which was good.Oh, I almost forgot - the wine was very acceptable too! A Pinot Grigio.Another good meal in a rural pub in the Peaks. A mix of locals and tourists shows that the Queen Anne has got it right in giving a warm welcome, serving some great local beers and providing, on the whole, great food. Had we been staying longer we would have returned.

My wife and I were driving in the Peak district, and happened on this lovely Inn by chance. The bar has a warm log fire and Mine host was most welcoming. The food was well prepared and nicely presented. Two course lunch with four choices of starter, main and sweet means we will be going back often to sample the other dishes.

Landlord, Glynn, was very receptive after provisionnally letting him know of our group's intention.Lovely beer garden and our group enjoyed sampling his wares. An excellent ambassador as to why certain pubs are surviving the economic climate.

The Queen Anne is fairly exceptional as a pub, although it is somewhat tucked away. My family often make trips there especially. The food is excellent and offers a good menu with changing specials. Beer from the local Bradfield brewery is worth a trip alone, they also have guest ales on in the summer. We're always warmly welcomed and made to feel at home.

Hi We live within a few miles of this pub, and if your looking for great food at a price to suit all pockets, you wont be dissapointed, you will get a great welcome from Glyn and the range of beer is very good and again not overpriced. Great pub for locals and visiters to the area.

We stayed for two nights over a weekend. The full English breakfast was excellent, with lovely extras like fresh berries with the cereal. However, we had a bad experience of the evening offerings. Stick to the steak or pizza, which were both good, and avoid the more adventurous menu items is my advice! Our room was well priced but had a telltale smell of damp, which sent us shopping for air freshener.

We stayed here for two nights over the May Day Bank holiday weekend. The breakfasts are very filling and they use tasty local produce that really sets you up for the day. Cereal, toast, plenty to drink and the full-English. We also had an evening meal here. For less than sixteen quid, we had a juicy steak that was cooked perfectly and a 'create your own pizza' - excellent value! There is quite a brief menu but a specials board offers a good selection of alternatives. There are also special offers on food and house wine. Finally, I would recommend the Farmers Ale, brewed at nearby Bradfield - very smooth!

Whilst I cannot fault the quality of the food, the lack of toilet facilities causes me a major problem. Previously when we have visited here we were able to use the toilets belonging to the pub next door. Having mobility problems and on medication , I politely asked if it would be possible to use the staff WC. This was refused and I was told to use the public toilets which were a considerable distance away. It took me a very painful 25 minute walk to go there and back.I am 85 years old, leaning heavily on a walking stick . I feel very disappointed as i have visited this fish shop many times in the past.

Really lovely food, you wouldn't know it from the outside/inside - it's like any other pub but the food was really good. Had the best dessert - rice pudding with apple and nuts - to die for.

We went for Sunday lunch and it was probably the best I've had, the meat melted in your mouth and the veg was brilliant with meaty gravy

Arrived around 10:45 am on 10/11/24 only to be informed that there was no hot food being served until 11:15 due to a take away order. Others in front of us left and we reluctantly ordered two coffees, a flapjack and a Pork Pie instead of the full cooked breakfasts we’d hoped for. We were charged twice for the Pork Pie, which we pointed out and were subsequently refunded for. We sat at a table that had the previous occupants breakfast plate on it (which was never cleared, considering the waiting on staff weren’t serving any food at the time) and waited for our coffee which did not arrive. We fetched it ourselves from the counter, at which point around 11:05, they started taking breakfast orders again. The place seemed poorly managed and why you’d turn away valued customers for a take away order is beyond me.
