Absolutely wonderful, lower than average prices for fresh top notch food and amazing service. We will definitely be coming back here.

The atmosphere was nice, the staff were friendly but the service was not 100 per cent. Had to ask 3 times for water. Finally arrived, and the glasses were dirty with lipstick marks on. The food was okay, reasonable for the price. Asked for the bill, and the girl never returned, so we went to pay at the till. It was a Saturday and busy, so possibly it's better on other days, but I would not rush back. However, it's good to try places.

10/10 food and drinks. Really enjoyed lunch here and the service was fast and friendly. It’s definitely worth visiting if you’re in the area.

I have visited here many of times, every time I have been I’ve been, I’ve received 10/10 service and food has always been incredible. All the staff are friendly, welcoming and do what they can to meet all requirements and needs. However I would like to mention how Rupert went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Great place and I would really recommend to anyone!!

Wow! What a wonderful time we had in a beautiful location. This hotel and restaurant is a hidden gem. Our room was immaculate. The food was delicious and the staff were absolutely fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble. I loved the fact they had oat milk as a choice with my brew. Highly recommend 💗

best fish and chips in bakewell!

Poor experience. Coffee was weak and tasteless...after being charged 60p for oat milk on top of 2.85 for an Americano, this was unacceptable

Kept waiting at the door before we were given a seat which was free. The waitress showed up for the order after looking for it. We ordered hot drink with dessert. The dessert arrived first and to get the drinks we had to push by pointing out that the ladies who entered after us had received them first. The gentleman who was with me went to get them himself... We might as well have had self-service. I got the impression that the waitress was a young intern left to her own devices. Shabby. The products weren't bad, but I don't think I've ever seen worse service.

Visited at the weekend - very disappointed! Family of 4, one item we ordered was a prawn & Marie Rose open sandwich, 10 minutes later the waitress returned to say there was no prawns. Another 15 minutes passed before the order was retaken. Ordered a beef and horseradish one this time… this was forgotten when the other meals came out! When it did come out there was 1 piece of tough chewy beef on the bread and a very pitiful side salad! Extremely over priced and very disappointing! Wish we had gone elsewhere as we had a lovely day in Bakewell!

Fabulous lunch today at the H bar. Great service and delicious food. The Bakewell flapjack and pudding were amazing :-). Purchased a Bakewell pudding to take home they are so good ! Thank you .

Bought a bakewell tart (was supposed to buy bakewell puddings but I went in the wrong shop, well I am 81) I paid £22.00 on my contact less card, ending 7187 TXN 3830 AUTH 004573.. AT 23.47. It was for my friend. Getting home we have just cut it open, the tarts pastry was hart, very little jam, the sponge filling was very dry and fell apart, no almond tast, certainly not frangipane! More like ordinarily Victoria sponge, the icing looked nice, but crumbled apart, again very dry, very, very disappointing

Totally overpriced for what you get. Open sandwich consisted in 2 slices of cheap supermarket bread with some margarine spread and grated tasteless cheese and a few sad-looking salad leaves.

Came for breakfast this morning very lovely staff and breakfast was delicious could tell it was fresh meat from butchers and don't usually like mushrooms but they were beautiful could tell hadn't just been put in fryer. Would definitely recommend will be returning .

Excellent service as ever great coffee tea and cakes. We have always enjoyed tea and coffee from here.

Great food and really friendly staff

On a rainy trip to Bakewell for the day we decided to lunch here as it was well located and dog friendly meaning we could escape the downpour for lunch with friends. Food was ok, seriously over priced though although I think that’s the only thing boutique about it, the seating was worn away tables dirty and staff put out when you asked them anything. The wait was soooooo long a lady that came in after us was served and her food came out before we even got our drinks! The staff were aloof and disinterested we even had to ask twice to be able to pay and leave then were looked at like aliens for asking to split the bill? £68.40 for 4 people to have a sandwich and a hot drink is a bit much especially when the service was so poor and frankly rude.

visited today with 4 others entered the door and waited to be seates waitress practically barked at us and then shouted us through picked what we wanted from the menu .the waiter who broyght our drinks was curteous’. we placed our order 2 beef abd 1 chicken H butgers steak and ale pie and fish and chips 10mins later told no beef burgers so changed to chicken burger meal arrived and the chicken burger were actually 2 chicken strips on a burnt bun and what was supposed to be steak and ale pie was dry and burnt , only the middle was edible fish and chips ok no condiments on the table as all pots empty asked the barking blond waitress who begrudging ly brought some satches very much like iceland chicken strips and a pukka pie weatherspoon meal at but at high price really expected more £100 for the 5 of us and left dissatisfied wont be returning plenty of better eateries with better microwaved food .

We waited ages for rubbish food that was massively overpriced. Paid £8.50 for an ‘open cheese and chutney sandwich’… it was two slices of cheap bog standard bread with pre grated cheese dumped on it. Couldn’t pay me to eat here again.

We had lunch here yesterday ploughman's board and homemade soup, delicious food and friendly service. Very good value

Have had a couple of meals here. The gluten free pizza is AMAZING! Such care is taken by the staff and so fab that they are dog friendly too! 😊

Lovely sweet staff but their coffee and chocolate cake was terrible. They have lovely outdoor seating which you might enjoy on a sunny day in this picturesque street. Great location though.

Dined here 2 times over the holiday stay in Bakewell and each time the portions were amazing and the staff were so welcoming. Each time our group was quite large and they managed every time. 10/10

We were looking for somewhere to eat and looked at other places then found H very welcoming g and polite staff sorted out a table for 4, no issue with the service, the food we ordered it was hot and tasty, drinks were as ordered. For the cost it was no more than anywhere else, will go back again, I cannot speak for the bad reviews but my experience of H was great, thanks all at H

Decent coffee. Fairly weak. Eggs Benedict overcooked, served on a stale muffin with overwhelming amount of bland hollandaise sauce. Eggs on the full English were undercooked and the difference in quality of sausage between two of the same dish was weird. Black pudding more like a hockey puck. The bread was okay. Didn't feel like we could complain and reorder as we had already waited ages. Staff were pleasant and polite, albeit absent.

Had to wait around 20 mins for coffee which would've been disappointing if it was busy but I could only see a couple other tables occupied. The coffee itself was really poor - under extracted, milk not sufficiently heated or stretched. Was more like something you'd get out a service station coffee machine. The breakfast seemed like it had been sat under a heat lamp for far too long. Everything was dehydrated and just a little unappealing.

Great food, fresh stone baked pizza, early evening after a hike to Chatsworth and back on a hot day. Choice of outdoor seating in sunny court yard frontage, spotlessly clean and welcoming.

Sausage sandwich came without butter. The tea was watery (weak teabags) in a large teapot and I had to ask for sugar. Usually these additions would be set aside on the table so I could help myself. The pudding was awful to much pastry not enough filling very disappointing and not worth the price ( better off going to get a slice from the bakewell tart shop you won't be disappointed at all, it took me two days to eat it. ) but the custard was delicious. The young lady who served me was helpful.

Best to sit outside in sun ...food are good , but atmosphere is awesome.

£26 for the saddest looking charcuterie board pictured below (minus a bite of cheese and bread we had already tried). The worst food I've eaten, I actually laughed when it arrived as I thought it was a joke for £26. Described as a selection of meats, cheeses, breads and other things. The cheese was cheap cracked and dry and just two small pieces. The bread was a stale bread roll, hardly edible. We actually left most of it. The salad was really dry and wilted like it had been left out in the sun all day and was described as rocket and balsamic salad, which it was not. Other Items described on the menu were missing from the board. When I said to the member of staff we weren't impressed with the size or quality of the products for the price we paid, she made up some excuses and said she had accidentally put it through as a single board, despite us paying for a sharer board, and it clearly going through on the till as a sharer. She then disappeared for 20 minutes and we were left wondering if she was coming back. 20 minutes later she appeared with a larger but still very sad looking board. It was full of random assortments such as coleslaw another bread roll, and other random things it looked like that had just panicked and scraped together from the kitchen. I explained we had now been here 45 minutes, we needed to leave as our parking was now up, so asked for a refund on the food. She argued saying she couldn't refund as she had given us the food we order Just on to seperate boards. I tried to explain again, we no longer wanted the board as it wasn't as described and taken a long time to come after we were given the wrong meal , but she made me feel like I was in the wrong. I told her again, we ordered 45 minutes ago, have already eaten half of the 'wrong order' which was barely edible and we now didn't have time. She then gave us a refund for half of our bill, charging us for a single person charcuterie board, despite the board, 1) not being what we ordered, 2) missing half of the items listen on the menu for it and 3) the products being very poor quality and tasteless, dry and old.

One of the waiters can't speak good English and had to keep repeating which cake we'd like. She then brought my prawn cocktail to the table then took it away when I was about to take a bite, would not recommend!

The food was exceptional during my visit in January, but I returned this week and clearly they have forgotten the concept of seasoning food. The woman who seemed to be the manager, was stagnant, cold, and was a fluster, even with a quiet breakfast service. If you're gluten free, do not come here. They say they have gluten free options, but upon ordering, no food was available. This was not restaurant level food. Disappointed.

The service was good and the lady very helpful and friendly. The burger and chips was over priced and below par. The meat was compressed, dry and flavorless and does a dis-service to farm produce. The bun was extremly dry and fell to bits. We sent both meals backs.

Having been refused service elsewhere by a rude owner we walked into this place to a really warm welcome. We chose a seat and made our choice. We had 2 of the best cappucinos we have ever had. Piping hot and really tasty. We chose a piece of Bakewell cake, well when in Bakewell.... The slice was fresh and really big, tasty and economically priced. We loved the place. Whilst we were there another 9 people came in all having a drink and cake and all were saying how good it was. 4 of them were also chastised in the previous cafe we had all tried and whilst this place was modern staff were great and the quality superb.

Been here everytime i am in Bakewell, awesome place to be, staff are very friendly and the meals are very nice. I reccommend stone cooked pizza that they sell! Everything is reasonably priced and it was an all round great experience.

Been here twice for brunch now and found it very relaxed and pleasant, they only serve breakfast till 11.30 but we got in at 11.40 and after asking the kitchen they said they would do us our poached and scrambled eggs after the curfew was imposed lol. Why in this country eggs cannot be poached after a set time in the morning and the lunch service has started is beyond me !! Anyway no complaints here...food great, service quick and smiley...only complaint was that coffee Americano's could have been stronger..most coffee joints tend to err on the watery side...if its made strong water can always be added. We didn't complain as the brunch was so nice and they had stretched the brunch hours for us...so we'll done and we'll definately be back.

Visited The H bar and restaurant a couple of times and always had an excellent experience the food is lovely and the service is great. Fab friendly staff and always feel very welcome with my small children. highly recommended.

Came in on Saturday 12th November about 9.40am ,one couple having breakfast. Not busy at all . Ordered breakfast and drinks. More people arrive ,and have orders taken after us ,still no drinks ,My breakfast comes ,so I start eating ,still no drinks . People who came in after have drinks and breakfast,by this time ive finished my breakfast without a drink ,despite the waitress recognising and saying you're drinks haven't come yet I'll go and see . We wait 5 more minutes then go up to the bar and pay for my breakfast. The bloke behind the bar not apologetic,the waitress was but said they were very busy .... But others had drinks despite coming in 20 minutes after us . Hardly a boutique place .

Fish not cooked properly - thickest part was cold in the middle. I mentioned the problem and was presented with increasing levels of rudeness and denial. I was told by one junior member of staff that it will have gone cold standing whilst I was eating it (in the middle?!!), then told by one senior member of staff it would come off the bill, then again by the junior that I’d have to pay in full, and then finally by an incredibly rude and overly assertive manger that I’d have to pay half because I’d eaten the part that was warm. Apparently the cafe is renowned for its fish and chips - at £17 maybe it’s the price they’re famous for! To be honest, even if hot the meal would have been mediocre at best. Go eat somewhere else. I will be in future.

Popped in to avoid the rain. Wish I hadn't. Rude staff. Awful coffee clearly no trained barista. £8.50 for a beef and horseradish sandwich on cheap supermarket bread with missing horseradish. Beef was overcooked then drowned in Bisto to compensate. Partners pork sandwich didn't look much better to be honest.

Very clean and tidy establishment with polite staff. Served much better coffee than some other establishments in Bakewell.

Nice restaurant, We brought ourkids and I think it was a bit grown up for them sat inside, however the food was nice but a bit expensive.

Terrible service, table was left dirty and we clearly were putting the wait staff out by asking coffee even worse couldn’t drink it

Located in the very center of Blackwell. Nice atmosphere, excellent service, delicious coffee and sweets. Dogs friendly. I want to stay longer. I recommend!
