We tried both the Bakewell pudding and tart right in the heart of Bakewell! Sweet, rich and full of tradition - can you really say you've even been to Bakewell if you haven't tried both? Great, friendly, fast service too!

Lovely building with loads of different events/interesting activities. Great park. Decent pub(Barringtons)...live music n brass bands.

We stayed over bank holiday weekend (Sunday). We were unable to check in at the agreed 2pm time due to the room still being mopped? Staff were friendly and polite. Drinks were good value. Breakfast next day was good value as well. Only downside really was the noise from the bar area into our room. Very noisy with dogs barking and loud music and voices. We also had guests venturing down to our end of the hallway where there are only 2 room and they were loudly trying the doors to see if the room were theirs, even though they were clearly named above the doors. Overall a great location, good food and drink, polite staff and if you can handle a noisy environment (until the bar closes then this is the stop for you

Two hours wait for a takeaway! We were told they were busy and we wouldn’t get our order for an hour. After an hour and a half we called to ask if there was a problem and were told ‘We think your order is on its way’ think ??? When our order finally arrived two hours after we called there was no apology for the extra hour delay. Food was ok, but definitely not worth the wait. Will be going back to Curry Corner West Wickham.

A lovely café run by Nick, who gave us a lovely warm greeting and then set about delivering drinks and mince pies to the eight of us in an unflustered fashion. A lovely café stop.

This is now called Jordan cafe. It's a great place. Very clean, friendly, reasonable prices and great coffee. If you've been staying away, go back - it's really good 👍👍👍

Really good! The bacon, cheese and mushroom oatcakes were very tasty and generously filled. What a difference since a new chef was appointed this summer! Friendly efficient staff, swift service, attractive menu, reasonable prices.

Arrived after having walked the full length of the parade, everything elsewhere being served seems to be fish and chips, which at 11:00am thought was a bit much, asked the young g lady if breakfast was still available and she said yes. Happy days, service was excellent, smiling, polite, when breakfast arrived it was perfect. We have an house joke about sausage ratings and these were high on the scale! Great experience and highly recommend.

After reading the reviews I think we just went on the wrong day. We ordered 3 cooked breakfast with tea. Sorry the sausages were so over cooked they were black. I left one so you could see. I know I should have told you at the time but being with family we didn't want to make it an issue. May I please suggest you try grilling items. The bacon and eggs were covered in black burnt bits from the fat. It will not put me off coming again as I say I guess it's just a blip

Absolute shocker! Walked into a completely empty bar, staff member sitting at a table on the laptop, asked if they were serving food(6:50pm) and was told that I had to order now as the kitchen was closing. No problem, I'd checked the menu before I went, so I ordered the steak. Asked to swap the chips and mushroom tomato for a side salad. This should have been when I walked away because this was treated like I'd asked the girl if I could just eat her pet rabbit, never in my life has this been a request that required so much effort. Anyway, food comes out about 9 minutes later and I'm served with a plate of salad, some questionable onion rings, and about 6 slices of roast beef. I have been served steak sliced before, but this was most definitely left over roast beef and to top that off it was stone cold and by no means medium rare as I had requested. Fair play, she did come do a check back within a couple of minutes which is very rare these days, so I said "steak" was cold and she said sorry about that, I'll get the chef to fix it. Comes back about 5 minutes later and I don't even think the chef looked at it. "steak" still cold, onion rings now also cold. She comes back a couple of minutes later asking if everything was OK now so I say no, it's actually worse. Well, at point she starts telling me that it's because it's the salad that's making it cold and that the chef has probed these slices and they are fine and that it should be cold because I'd asked for medium rare! Incredulous, I just said fine, clearly not going to get anywhere. I worked in bars and restaurants for the best part of 10 years, managed a good few of these and if anyone I worked with ever treated a customer like that they would have been fired on the spot. I was then completely ignored for the rest of my visit like I had done something wrong even though I paid full price for my meal. Food - 0 Service - 10 Atmosphere - colder than my ex's heart

Stopped here on the way home from holiday for a quick lunch. The young lady serving was very efficient and friendly. A slight wait for lunch but we had just ordered behind 2 other tables. We both had sandwiches. Mine was enormous, fish goujons, it was very tasty

Lovely Cafe! Nice choice of lunchtime dishes. Really good coffee. All served very quickly by lovely staff. Certainly looking forward to returning.

The cakes looked so good from the window. Went in and asked for cornflake slice and a frangipani. The young man didn’t listen to me because when I got home there was no cornflakes slice. So disappointed.

Excellent fish and chips! Staff very professional, clean and tidy :). Keep up the good work! Will be back when visiting again
