We came to this restaurant as it was advertised as gluten free and Italian. We were immediately “greeted” by 3 teenagers who were lackadaisically changing the sign for the building, we approached unsure if it was even open. We asked and they confirmed it was but they mostly seemed focused on chatting and ignored us as we walked into the tiny restaurant. The owner was sat on his laptop and informed us they were moving to a new location. We confirmed what they had for GF options and they told us the pizza was the only option. We ordered a GF pizza, pasta, and a lasagna. The teenager employees bemoaned their needing to do work and slowly made their way back to the kitchen where they laughed and joked around without much haste towards actually making our food. One of the employees mimicked themselves drinking the “white sauce” in the fridge and made gagging noises implying the food was gross/inedible before letting the owner know it was old/had gone off. He let us know the lasagna could be made without the sauce and we agreed apprehensively. The staff continued to complain and whine about having to make food and continued to loudly proclaim the process would take a lot of time. At around this point a staff member made it clear they didn’t have any wax paper. The owner asked her to go and get some from the store and she whined and complained more about how long it would take and eventually left to go to the store and get wax paper. This whole time the owner is sitting next to us explaining that the restaurant is in complete disrepair because they are moving to a bigger location. In my head I am concerned as to how this business has trouble accommodating 3 orders and no one else, managing a bigger customer base seems a fantastical endeavour. The girl sent to get wax paper returns at a wandering pace to let the owner know she couldn’t find any at the store. He proceeds to let us know 2 of the 3 items we ordered cannot be completed because of this apparently integral kitchen item. We got our refund and left. We will not be returning.

Ordered a large margarita it took at least 30+ mins to arrive. The service was poor. When the food did arrive, it was about as big as my hand. The cheese on the pizza fell off as soon as I picked it up. Overall it was a bad experience. I wouldn't go back or recommend to anyone.

First time back at Ricci's since they changed owners. What a disappointment! The new owner is clueless, the staff haven't got a clue what they are doing. The whole atmosphere has changed. The food took nearly 1 hour to arrive, yet there was only 1 other table eating. It was a sign of things to come when we witnessed that table leave all their food. The pizza was tiny and hardly any topics. The spaghetti bolognese was bland. The old menu was much better. I wouldn't return , very sad to see Ricci's has been ruined.

Had a Latte and tea to drink on their tables outside. The staff could not work the till and were being "helped" working the till by a male member of staff who was handing the cleaning end of a mop at the same time. The Latte was only warm, looked and tasted terrible, as well as being very weak. The tea still had its bag in and was "builders tea" strong. Also tasted terrible. Braught out by the mop handling member of staff, who did not clean up the milk he had spilt over the serving tray/cups. The sugar in the sachets so hard we could not empty them.

Ordered two small pizzas, weren't expecting them to be as tiny as they were for the price we paid (almost £7 each!). We were surprised at the wait (25 minutes) as we were the only customers at the time. I was going to order pasta, but was told that the sauces were premade (they advertised 'freshly made' pizza and pasta) so didn't go for it. The pizzas were tasty but shame they didn't last long.

Ordered a takeaway pizza with a 20 min wait, 20 min later, realised the order hadn't been put through, so had to wait an extra 15 min though was told 5 minutes. A staff member tried to make a joke of it and explain. The staff member was pleasant and jovial. On finally receiving the pizza we then realised our 10" pizza must have shrunk to about 6" in the oven!! on top of that, it had about an inch of crust. so very little topping, it also didn't help that they didn't slice the pizza either. pizza tasted ok, but over all wasn't satisfied. I also find it disgusting to charge inside menu prices if you wish to eat it outside on their tables. Wouldn't visit again, If you want pizza id pay a pound more and go to another restaurant near by. shame really as I do like authentic style restaurants.

But to fair the boxes were tiny too so at least the chef wasn't trying to overcompensate.... Also, not sure what Fior de Latte meant on the menu? Presumably it's Italian for fish vomit? Or maybe foot sweat? Couldn't quite put my finger on the taste. Wouldn't want to either.

Mediocre restaurant at best. Had tastier pizza from a supermarket. Pasta not impressive either, partner left half of it. Salad served without the requested dressing. Perhaps we just caught it in on an off day, struggling with staff during covid. However, on closer inspection of the reviews, looks like this restaurant is under new ownership and the majority of the better reviews predate the new ownership.

Called in for two takeaway coffees and after a wait of around 15 minutes we left with two very-hot takeaway cups containing what we thought was a cappuccino and a vanilla-latte. We found a spot by the river to watch the World go by with a coffee but then tasted the most disgusting nasty hot milky solutions with no coffee at all, they were foul and quite possibly the worst attempts at coffees EVER! So disappointed with the waste of money, complete lack of care or interest. This was yesterday (Monday 14th June) at 11.16am and the order was clearly given "1 x Cappuccino and 1 x Vanilla Latte" - the order was accepted, paid for and the drinks were sadly un-drinkable.

We visited this many times for pizza and was always great food and friendly. BUT unfortunatly seems to have changed hands, the new owners have no passion for food or customer care unlike the original italian family. Food was ok staff if any slower would have gone into reverse mode or stopped. On visiting the toilet looked like no cleaning for weeks as was kitchen area. SADLY our fond memories of this place have been ruined on this visit and will not be returning 🥺 The owner, staff need to rethink why they are doing this type of business. Whole place needs a good clean. Sorry I do not normally complain.

TLDR, I was asked to just wait outside for a while, 1.5 hours later and I was laughed at as they apologised for the short wait An honest review. Food: I ordered a Meat Fest, Margarita and Carbonara. The Meat Fest was delicious, the cuts were fantastic and the pizza was well cooked. The Margarita was not as good as the Meat Fest, but still nice. a bit thick on the cheese and just had a bunch of tomato slices dumped on the top The Carbonara was .. horrible. Tesco Carbonara tastes better than the Carbonara I received. The wait: Caveat, it was a bank holiday weekend. (30th May) and a beautiful sunny day. I ordered at 6:50 and was just asked to wait outside at 7:20 (30min) I went in to ask if my order was ready, I was told they will come out when its ready at 7:40 (50min) I went in to ask how long my order would be I was told 20min at 8:10 (80 Min) I returned to ask about my order, I was told it we haven't started your order yet, there are 2 orders before you, it will be another 20 min, we can bring it to you at the pub next door when its ready. (My friend was at the pub) at 8:30 (100min) I returned is almost ready, I asked if they will still bring to the pub, and I was told "no, just wait here" 5min later, I finally had my food. Service: The fact that it took OVER an hour and a half for 2 small pizzas and a pasta is beyond me. BUT if they had simply told me up front "there will be a minimum 1hour wait" I would have gone and returned, instead of sitting on a fence for 30min just waiting. further more, being told after waiting over an hour, that my order had not yet been started. Whilst that was fantastic information to have, would have been great to know prior I'm sure the place can be good when it's not busy, but my experience, honestly was horrible. 100% ruined my day, made me feel terrible. the customers were all making jokes about how long everyone had to wait, and everyone was upset. poor management, poor service and the biggest part is poor expectation management. Edit: Hi Ricci (aka. Steve) thanks for taking the time to respond, I understand it was a busy day (and provided that Caveat in my review), but the I was never informed about an hour wait. If I had, I too would have moved on, as we missed our sunset viewing due to the wait. The only two times I was given an estimate was, after 50min, when I asked, and after 80min when I was told my order hadn't been started. I hope that the next customer's experience is better than mine, its a lovely little place, and the pizza was delicious.

We've been there for some pizza and pasta for the first time but it was a total waste of time and money ! The Carbonara was like a milk with macaroni, nothing to do with the proper carbonara and the pizza was just some flour baked with something randomly topped on . Nothing to add but we've been waiting for the food around one hour and a half at least ! The picture is how we found outside , maybe you'll eat with one of those forks on the ground . Save your time and money ! Avoid to go !

Seems this once great pizza place has fallen from grace with new ownership. Ordered a pepperoni and a hot and spicy “got not bolognaise sauce” ok a spicy pepperoni and some garlic bread please. 10”. An hour and a half later I’m standing invisible in the shop. I’m 6’2” and 18.stone. It’ll be 7 minutes. Yep. Normally is. From order! Total of 1 hour 45 for basic pizza. No eye contact. Poor attitude and a couldn’t care less attitude. But when we got the pizza home I really couldn’t distinguish from an own label supermarket one. I wish them luck. They’ll need it. Hope this will help: Ingredients for Bolognese sauce: 2 tablespoons olive oil 2 cloves garlic, crushed 1 cup chopped yellow onion ¼ cup chopped flat-leaf parsley ½ cup dry red wine 1 pound sweet Italian sausage, casing removed ¾ pound ground chuck 7 cups tomato puree or ground canned tomatoes 1 tablespoon each dried oregano and basil ½ teaspoon sugar Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste Make a bu let load and it’ll last a week!

Needs to get with the 20th century and not just take cash ! He said it was to keep costs down but prices were average ! Latte was nice though ! As you have responded get the facts right we had one coffee one tea one coke and a pizza !! Which came to over £11 pound which would be enough in all shops ! And the notice saying no cards is on the till which you can't hardly see and as we went straight to a table and were served from the table we did not know until it came to paying ! This needs to be made clear on entry ie a larger sign !! Anyway doesn't matter me and my family won't be returning as there are plenty of cafés that do take card and serve average food and drink at average prices as well ! If you are going to reply get your facts right first !!!! Oh and the pizza was not the best as somebody else has stated you have to eat it separately as the cheese is so thick and greasy it slides off ! have had a lot better ! 4 out of 10 for that !!!; Dropped the ratting from two star to one as I don't like people who lie to make them look better !

Food was delish and tasty! My husband is Italian so we can say hand on heart the pizza has nothing to do with the genuine pizza served in Italy (esp the base) and it is more American than Italian but it did not dissapoint at all as very fresh and yummy. We were impressed by the home made marinera sauce, infused olive oil, both full of flavour and lush mozarella cheese. Would def return and recommend! Thank you for a lovely experience x

Friendly staff but seating a bit cramped and the food was very basic for the price. Let me elaborate following the owners observations with my own, the pizza is so laden with cheese it slides off the base meaning you have to eat them separately. The 'pasta' not homemade is served on a plate not a bowl and is swimming in water at the bottom. The sauce may well be prepared in site but I'd hardly call it sophisticated. So for price if I were to compare it with say Zizi I know where I would go. I think all the other reviews mirror my observations just a shame the person issuing the riposte does not take criticism well.

We found the people and venue to be lovely but sadly the food was disappointing. The pasta was watery and overcooked - some of the worst pasta I've had for many years. The pizzas were better but not of the quality I'd expect from a dedicated Italian café - too heavy overall, no doubt caused by the chunky base and too much cheese. I have lived in the south of Italy and know what good Italian food tastes like, and this is not it.

Seemed like a very welcoming place.. took them ages to take our order (which was just for a coffee). The landlady was running around looking a bit flustered even at nearly closing time on a weekday. It took her a further 5 minutes to get the coffee to the table. For someone who likes their coffee hit, this was quite a disappointment. The kids wanted an ice-cream, so I left the rest of the family to go across to an ice cream shop just around the corner. Took us 5 minutes to return with our ice creams. We were stood outside in the kerb to be told quite rudely by the landlady to vacate the place as we hadn't purchased it. I was forced to reply that we were stood on the kerb rather than inside her shop. I wouldn't be returning here..a simple yet quite a rude gesture sullied what had until then been a lovely day. The hosts (in particular the lady) can certainly use a masterclass in customer service

Nice little cocktail bar. No food, just beers and cocktails. A bit rough and ready. Cocktails are 2 for £9 before 6 pm or 2 for £12 after.

Absolute shocker! Walked into a completely empty bar, staff member sitting at a table on the laptop, asked if they were serving food(6:50pm) and was told that I had to order now as the kitchen was closing. No problem, I'd checked the menu before I went, so I ordered the steak. Asked to swap the chips and mushroom tomato for a side salad. This should have been when I walked away because this was treated like I'd asked the girl if I could just eat her pet rabbit, never in my life has this been a request that required so much effort. Anyway, food comes out about 9 minutes later and I'm served with a plate of salad, some questionable onion rings, and about 6 slices of roast beef. I have been served steak sliced before, but this was most definitely left over roast beef and to top that off it was stone cold and by no means medium rare as I had requested. Fair play, she did come do a check back within a couple of minutes which is very rare these days, so I said "steak" was cold and she said sorry about that, I'll get the chef to fix it. Comes back about 5 minutes later and I don't even think the chef looked at it. "steak" still cold, onion rings now also cold. She comes back a couple of minutes later asking if everything was OK now so I say no, it's actually worse. Well, at point she starts telling me that it's because it's the salad that's making it cold and that the chef has probed these slices and they are fine and that it should be cold because I'd asked for medium rare! Incredulous, I just said fine, clearly not going to get anywhere. I worked in bars and restaurants for the best part of 10 years, managed a good few of these and if anyone I worked with ever treated a customer like that they would have been fired on the spot. I was then completely ignored for the rest of my visit like I had done something wrong even though I paid full price for my meal. Food - 0 Service - 10 Atmosphere - colder than my ex's heart
