The Bakewell Tart Shop & Coffee House in Derbyshire Dales

My wife and I stopped here for a late breakfast/early lunch during our third visit to Bakewell over the last few years. I had a breakfast and my wife had a Tuna Sandwich. The breakfast was as good as one could hope for, freshly cooked and quite a platefull. Tuna sandwich was delicious and very filling. Served with a pot of tea for two, all for under £20. The service was equally good and I would recommend this establishment to all.

We popped in for breakfast on a weekend in October. it is clearly popular with locals and tourists alike - and although busy got a table fro our group without too much difficulty. We enjoyed everything - the staff were wonderful, the food and drink excellent. Portions are generous! Would highly recommend this for breakfast and or drinks and puddings!

Fantastic food and Gluten free options the bread I also bought from there was amazing cannot recommend highly enough & such good value

I love Bakewell tarts and this place lived up to the hype. All the Bakewell variations were delicious as were the brownies. Special mention for Fay who really looked after us, service was great. Thank you and I will be coming again ☺️ 😋

The cafe was very busy but still welcoming. Service was great. We ordered tarts and drinks. I had a chai latte which was served steamed and brewing - a quick filter and it was ready. Delicious! So good we went back the next day for breakfast. Would definitely recommend a visit.

We visited this delightful tea rooms on a rainy Monday. We were warmly greeted and promptly shown to a table. The service was excellent, all of the team worked together. Fay the owner and also the cafe manager spent time chatting to us and ensured we were well looked after. We had coffee and Bakewell Tart (with custard) which was delicious. We would absolutely recommend.

In Bakewell so had to have a Bakewell Pudding !! A lovely little café with take away shop in front. Friendly attentive staff, lovely touch of a carafe of water with your meal. My Bakewell pudding and custard was yummy while my husband enjoyed his Pork and stilton pie. Coffee was good. A reasonable price too given it is in a tourist area ! Good selection of gluten free if required including a Bakewell tart.

Visited for lunch, staff were excellent, really nice and friendly. We had soup and a pork pie, very tasty. Decided after having a ginger beer and dandelion and burdock that we need a hot drink. The tea came with additional hot water and sufficient milk for several cups. Really hot tasty coffee. Very impressed with everything definitely recommend.

We visited The Bakewell Tart Shop yesterday and was so impressive from start to finish. The guy who served us was so attentive, polite and friendly. He seemed to genuinely want us to have the best experience. My wife is gluten and lactose intolerant and she had an Australian chai and gluten free Bakewell tart. She loved it and it was nice for her to have a choice with no fuss. We were given a bottle of water and glasses while we waited for our food! Great touch! Amazing experience and came out feeling so good. Can’t wait to go back.

Delighted to find somewhere with a Gluten Free menu offering several choices. GF bacon sandwich followed by Bakewell Tart were thoroughly enjoyed. Non gluten free Bakewell Tarts also delicious. Fay was particularly friendly and helpful. Pity dogs couldn't be accommodated… we’d to leave her in the car! Would definitely return and recommend to others.

Our first Bakewell tart was very enjoyable. Very good service and nice food. Friendly staff and the Bakewell tart with custard was more than enough for morning tea. Large servings and reasonable priced.

I cannot see how anyone can fail to give this shop 5 stars. Not only were the staff friendly and knowledgeable in the shop but the level of courteous and polite service given in both shop and cafe were absolutely exemplory. So much so that I made a point of specifically thanking the staff at the time. As for the food and the cakes...................delicious! We will return when we are next in the area of that I am certain.

Best Chai Latte I've ever had, made with proper black tea and herbs. Bakewell pudding was very enjoyable and the service exceptional. We very much enjoyed chatting with Fay, the owner and look forward to receiving our package of Chai tea once we're home. Only here for a couple of days but will definitely be back before we leave.
