Friendly manager/owner offered us a table at short notice. Service was exceptional and food was delicious! We had the creamy mushrooms, followed by prawn penne and meat pasta bake. Portions were immense! Wonderful classic tiramisu to finish the meal off. Booking definitely recommended, on a Tuesday evening they were almost full. Absolutely worth a visit!

Lovely restaurant. Great setting. Fabulous Interior. The food was excellent. So.e of the best we have had. We had the steak. Perfectly cooked. Very juicy. Staff are friendly. Reasonable pricing. Highly recommended.

I was camping at trail view camp site and went for a walk with fellow campers and stopped for a few slurps .. got a flat pint but the elderly bar maid was amazing and noticed the young lad had served it and stopped him and changed it straight away … worth her weight in gold that lady thanks again

We previously stayed here for one night last year and so when we were looking to have a few days away, we decided to stay here again but for 3 nights this time as the location of the Moon Inn is perfect for visiting the Hope Valley and surrounding areas. Our room was ready at 3pm when we had arranged to arrive and was clean, warm and well presented. During our stay, the tea, coffee, milk, cups & glasses were replenished every day and, although we were happy to use the same towels over our stay due to being able to dry them quickly on the super warm towel rail, they would have been replaced if we had wished every day too. A negative point to our stay would have to be that directly outside the door to our room was a refrigeration unit, which we presume was to do with the kitchen below. This was on all the time making a rattly, humming noise that during the day wasn't that obvious, but during the silence of the night could be heard through the wall to our room. The unit continuously switched on & off making sleeping quite difficult on the first night and so for the remaining two nights of our stay, we had to use the fan supplied in the room as a distraction to mask the noise. Luckily we are used to using a fan at home on warm nights, and as the room was more than warm enough, this suited us as a fix to the problem. We chose the bed & breakfast option for our stay and we were happy with the choice available on the breakfast menu. All in all, for the price we paid, we feel the service and accommodation we received was reasonable. Should we be looking to visit the area again, we would be happy to stay here again.

We walked almost 3 hours to this pub as part of the 'perfect pub walks' trek and, unfortunately, then found they were fully booked for food! They did manage to fit us in for Sunday lunch later the next day, and we had a beer flight (I love these, by the way) and roast beef and coffee and chocolate dessert. Really nice food, friendly staff and lovely building.

Only had a coffee, so I can't comment on the food. Coffee was good considering it wasn't barista made. £3 for an Americano with milk is a pretty standard price these days. The lady that served me was pleasant and friendly. Shame that people were smoking in/around the outside seating area. I was planning on taking a seat to enjoy the view, but I didn't fancy the secondhand smoke, but that's a personal preference for me. I'm not a smoker and had my 9 week old son with me.

We were delighted that the pub opened early enough for us to pop in before eating at the Italian next door. Lovely warm and traditional place. The Kimbereley bitter was excellent, the pinot grigot undrinkable and the three noisy young children unacceptable. Worth visiting but perhaps much later in the evening and only drinking the beer.
