Was ok. Fairly quiet despite Google saying it was busy. Pint of beer and cider were good enough.

Go for the butterfly chicken; you will get a little jug of cheese sauce for your chips.

Felt unwelcome soon as we walked asked for medium rare steak and came out well done

A lovely warm welcome when we went in. The food - breakfast was wonderful plenty of choice pipping hot. A great place!!!

I can only say how disappointed we were with our meal . The staff were fine but our food was terrible . The vegetarian wellington was all pastry. It came with chips when mash was on the menu . The vegetables came directly from a frozen bag and were tough and tasteless. They must know how bad this meal was themselves. Again shame as the staff were really friendly

All you can eat breakfast for £10! Spot on. Excellent real ales too. Friendly local family run.

Nice basic food and lovely real ale

A lovely little country pub, atmosphere was very relaxed. Sunday lunch meat was cooked well and plenty of it good selection of vegetables but not as warm as we would have liked. No vegetarian alternative or reduction in price for vegetables only and as a vegetarian a small/child's size plate was given which was annoying. If the vegetarian was better it would have been 5 star for the value for money

Excellent food and service.We had a Sunday carvery and the meat was fantastic. On a personal level I prefer no music while I'm eating.

we arrived 1.20pm on thursday, the place was almost empty. we ordered steak pies, three beans chilli and tempura king prawns. the pies were good . the tempura batter was not used for tempura king prawns but anyway the batter was crispy. the three beans chilli was rather in small portion.

Fab Sunday Lunch. Dog friendly too. Lovely play area for children. A proper friendly pub, no rushing and pushing you to eat up and go, friendly relaxed atmosphere.

Great place for a well priced delicious Sunday lunch consisting of 3 meats & 2 plate sizes for Smaller & larger appetite. Would highly recommend. Will definitely return.

Dropped in for a quick lunch. Warm welcome from the landlord and landlady. Good varied menu at reasonable prices. Generous portions of tasty food served with a smile. Recently refurbished and a good ambience. Would certainly call in again if in the area.

Been a long time since I have been here, but as expected it was like I remembered, Great real ales, and reasonably priced, with a very fast pool table.

We would like to thank everyone in this lovely pub for making us so welcome in our three days stay in the area. Sarah, Caz and the landlord ( I didn't get his name) were so friendly as were the locals and everyone spoke to us as if we were long time friends. We also had the pleasure of seeing Dean Concannon who is the best singer I have ever heard in a pub.(And I have been in a lot of pubs in my time)..Dean came and spoke to us this evening and is a really nice guy... Went here for a buffet following my father in laws wake. It was perfection. The bread they use was like home made yummy or what. Would definitely go there again.

We only had 'lite bites' but it was very nice and well presented. Be patient, it takes time to get your food, but it is worth it

I don't like roast carverys got put of 11 yrs ago but we was passing through and so glad we did the carvery was amazing so nice get lots also and not expensive I had a small he had large he with 2 alcohol drinks it was less than £25 . Here on holiday, after reading reviews we thought we would give it a try, the reviews were spot on, lovely food, friendly staff. Highly recommend if you are in Darley Dale.

Called into the Grouse today, past it many times, so stopped for lunch and glad we did just looked like any normal pub very plane, but very clean, furniture and fixing dated but the staff very friendly and the food is good and plentiful and good prices will go back again soon and take our friends

Needed a meal and a pint after a long drive. Arrived just before the kitchen closed at 7pm and ordered a steak. It arrived promptly, cooked as requested, beautifully medium rare, surrounded by all the usual suspects. Three decent real ales on tap, I sampled the Timothy Taylor's Landlord and wasn't disappointed, very well kept. Friendly locals made me feel welcome. Does exactly what it says on the tin, good food and beer in a traditional pub atmosphere.

Visited Grouse on the Go Extremely pleasant people a HUGE Choice on the Menu extremely quick service will definitely visit again... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Visited the Grouse Inn today for a wake, though not the greatest of circumstances the venue and hospitality can't be faulted. The landlord was attentive, the food was lovely and everywhere was extremely clean.

No atmosphere, mediocre Sunday carvery with shop bought frozen roast potatoes, water soaked veg - most of which had wasn't available! No desserts available.

My cousin from USA called in here about 6 years ago and said how amazing the food was, so decided to take a drive up to it and have lunch. Unfortunately there has been a change in land lord and they no longer do food so we left and went for a brew at the burger van across the road where the old chef from the pub now works. Fun trip out

We eat out for Sunday lunch quite often and travel all round and have found quite a few nice places. Today however we went past purely by chance the Grouse at Darley Dale and well to say it was good was a bit of an understatement. Outside does not prepare you for the quality and taste of the carvery it’s fantastic yes you might be put off by the decor when you first walk in but don’t be the place is spotless and the staff are excellent and friendly. Match that with the very very low price and you like us will be going back time and time again. I to be honest with you am a very fussy person and the Grouse just ticked all the right boxes for me. Give it a try and you will not be disappointed.

They're using a mobile kitchen in the car park and the food is first class. Well worth a visit don't pass it by. Great menu; extensive choice cooked to perfection.

Popped in whilst in the area. Decent pub with small beer garden at the rear. Friendly pub with mainly locals for customers. Not currently doing food and only one real ale available, otherwise I'd have scored it higher.

Quick pint of very well kept Tribute. Car parking both opposite and to the side. Both the interior and exterior are clean. There is a play area for children. Cannot comment on the facilities or food The do have live music, so check their website for events

Wouldnt eat again if the food was free. Myself, my son and neice wasted a full plate of luke warm food rock hard yorkshire puddings and fatty meat. The chef refused me and compensation! AVOID

It's been a while since we went to the grouse inn, to say it's literally along the road from our house. We went to a friend's 60th birthday party in early March. What a lovely surprise, it's had a new landlord and landlady, who were very friendly along with the other bar staff. There was a local band playing and the buffet was excellent. All together, we had a really good night in a great atmosphere. Would definitely recommend a visit.

I actually wasn't here. My friend lives nearby and Google won't stop hassling me until I do a review. It seems like a nice pub from the outside and has a carpark. That's all I can say on the matter really. Now hopefully Google will leave me alone. 🙄

I partook of the Carvery which they do on Sundays. It seemed very popular with locals. It was very good indeed. Moist meat and delicious gravey.

This was a lovely pub with great food, we were a late booking with 4 adults and 4 kids got us in. Staff were friendly and the locals also. Definitely will come again when we're in the area. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Great food. Good price. Many options in the menu. Staff are very nice. It also happens to have quite a lot of history as it is displayed on their walls. If you are in the area, it is the ideal place to have a meal.

Great place, biker friendly, dog friendly, food fantastic! Worth checking out for bands ,live music etc! Will be frequenting this hostelry on a regular basis . Well done you guys!

The stars sum it up. It's OK, but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit. The giant TV playing a football match was irritating. Food and Drink were good.
