Great service and great meal! Really enjoyed popping in here after going to Chatsworth. Cosy pub vibe on one side and lovely restaurant on the other. Also very well priced. Will definitely be back!

Just ok. Please note we only used the room, we didn't eat in the restaurant so I can't comment on the food. Pros: Great location, room was spotlessly clean, beds comfy and a nice strong shower. Ok value (but not exceptional) Cons: Car park was full when we arrived and we had to park a considerable walk away down a side street. After a long day of activities and carrying all our bags this was less than ideal. Smart TV didn't work on catch up or streaming services, we did manage to get the Freeview working however. Kettle was a tiny underpowered travel kettle, not really fit for purpose as you couldn't boil enough for 2 full mugs. It also had a damaged lid so didn't click off automatically. Check in was poor. No signage or prompts to tell you what to do, the place advertises as a hotel but is really a pub with a few rooms, which is fine but some information about how to check in would have been useful. Walking through the busy bar with my young Son and all our bags wasn't great and then the bar man didn't know how to check us in anyway so had to call a colleague who eventually gave us a key and explained the checkout process. No staff to be found later on, despite being a pub it seemed completely dead by 8pm. Not awful by any means but lots of small things that for the price charged, could and should have been much better.

Called in for an evening meal. I was disappointed to find out the full menu wasn't available as it was a Sunday. We considered going elsewhere but decided to stay. Halloumi and Risotto starters were nice. The roast beef was nice too, the meat was particularly nice. Would like to try the full menu another time. Overall it was a nice meal.

Lunch with family, ordered the duck breast with potato dauphinoise. The duck was nice but the dauphinoise was just potato slices and some cheesy oil bundled together. It all came in seperate bowls which was a bit weird, but no real complaints

Stayed here Saturday, 27th January, 2024 for one night. Hotel is lovely, has loads of old character and is spotless clean. We stayed in room 1. It was absolutely stunning and very comfortable. We had an evening meal, but because neither of us were overly hungry, we decided to just have starters and share. Food was very good. Staff were all pleasant and helpful. We will definitely hopefully return very soon.

Was ok. Fairly quiet despite Google saying it was busy. Pint of beer and cider were good enough.

We made a spur of the moment trip to Matlock Bath, as the weather is awful and stayed in a hotel nearby. We chose The Greyhound for food, because when we drove past it, it looked inviting. I'm so glad we had dinner here. It really was top tier and I was blown away with the quality of the food! I had the venison haunch and it was cooked to perfection, with a port jus and garlic mash - comfort food heaven!! The beer was good and the service was top notch too. We only visit Matlock Bath a couple of times per year but I have found our new go to for food and drinks. Thank you to all the staff and our utmost compliments to the chef and kitchen staff. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
