Singapore chow mein,crispy chilli beef absolutely lovely. Best chinese for a long while.

Food was cold..they took it back. Reheated it.but then it was dry.spoke to the staff she said sorry were busy with a wedding farye..it was a big birthday meal for my wife..so upsetting....

. . . We have been looking forward to visiting this establishment as we have heard encouraging comments from friends, and that they are dog friendly. We now live locally so decided to have Sunday lunch, took a punt as we hadn’t booked but were warmly welcomed and shown to a table which accommodated us and our dog. Specials Board as well as the menu; we enjoyed ‘mushrooms on sourdough’ and a ‘duck scotch egg’ from the specials. Fresh, delicious and very filling . . . and lovely to be able to enjoy a glass of wine. All the staff were delightful; Doug made sure we had everything we wanted and Grace checked that all was okay and that we were happy. We are looking forward to returning having found this cosy establishment. Thank you.

We dropped into The Lime Lounge Coffee House during a visit our trip to Bakewell. The drinks were lovely and the Biscoff slice that me and my daughter brought was absolutely amazing! So much so we brought a slice each for the whole family to take home with us too! Everyone was super friendly and the coffee shop had a lovely welcoming vibe. Even the wall paper in the toilets had a positive vibe - loved that! We shall definitely return and recommend others stop by and check this place out!

A good experience but lacking a certain "je ne sais quoi" The restaurant was very busy and I recommend you book. Starters: I had Gamberoni Fritti Padella il Diablo which was OK. My wife had the Tapenade which she loved. Mains: I had the fillet Rossini which was OK. The steak could have been better but the dish overall was fine. My wife had Pollo Sorpresa which she loved. I had the Tartuffo for dessert. It was quite nice served with shedloads of cocoa powder. I would happily return should we visit the area again.

We have stayed at the duke every other weekend from our first campervan adventure in February this year, we love it!! It's our happy place and there is nothing Bridget and the team wouldn't do to accommodate us, the campsite is lovely and the views are beautiful and the facilities are fantastic and clean, we love the pub with its lovely welcome, open fires and out of this world food !! We never want to stay anywhere else when visiting buxton/bakewell 5 stars 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟 looking forward to seeing Bridget and the team soon 🥰

I've been coming here for about 25 years, back when 'Benny' ran the place almost single handedly. food is good and tasty, and has stayed consistent over the years. pizza very cheesy, and most times base is nice and crispy. a firm favourite with the locals, so I'd advise calling up to ask how busy they are and/or order in advance. chicken and chips is always pretty good value (ask about the prawn sauce!).

Nice costa coffee outlet with good coffee, comfortable seats and friendly staff. A nice place to sit and relax and watch the world go by (especially in the window seats) enjoy

Lovely place to refuel after walking up to Kinder Scout. Very friendly staff. We had a very tasty Bakewell cake , brownie washed down with good coffee and tea. Well worth a visit.

We had a great Sunday lunch at Barringtons a couple of days ago. The roast beef and also the nutless roast were great. The service was good and the staff friendly. The restaurant is well decorated and comfortable. The cocktails were good, as was the cheesecake. Thank You! We would definitely return and might look at staying when we are next in the area.

We had the absolute pleasure of booking Star Anise to cater our wedding evening meal over the bank holiday weekend, and we genuinely couldn’t recommend them more highly. From the moment we got in touch, their professionalism and warmth stood out. They were incredibly understanding of our needs, working closely with us to tailor everything around our budget and timings, without ever compromising on the quality. Their advice and guidance were so appreciated - helping us shape the perfect evening setup with options that suited all of our guests. It truly felt like they were invested in making our day special, and that care shone through in every interaction. And the food… just wow. It was utterly delicious and bursting with flavour. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about it (many going back for seconds and thirds!), and we were over the moon to have leftovers the next morning, which made for the best post wedding-day breakfast. Everything ran so smoothly, and it honestly took a weight off our shoulders knowing we were in such capable hands. If you’re thinking of booking them for your event - do it. You won’t regret it.

It's been a great place, very cosy and perfect service, very fast. We had mainly pasta and some starters. Squid and sea food are very fresh and nicely done.

Hot chocolate wasn't very hot and lacked flavour. The latte was ok but wasn't very warm. The only thing I'd say is the cakes/scones are delicious, the food looked well presented. It really was it's saving grace, but for the price I'd expect a little more.
