It was really good. Lovely staff and excellent food. I recommend the pastie. The toilets were clean. Good location, there was a dog refill station. And there was outside a witch with purple hair. WRITTEN BY Charlotte

We'd struggled to get parked for the Mam Tor walk and ended up at the Edale car park. Even though it was still busy, I was motivated to keep trying for a car park space due to their sign advertising cake and free walking maps. I got a space...!! We headed to this lovely cafe and they were super helpful and ended up having a lovely afternoon waking Mam Tor!! We had a vegan sausage roll as well as a pork version too. A perfect find ❤️

Loving the fence outside. Check out the dog refill station. Outdoor sitting front and rear. Next to the railway station. Dog friendly inside and out. Staff friendly and helpful. Went mid morning, good tasty food and at a reasonable price. Very clean inside. Nice atmosphere. Check out the free map with local walks from the cafe . Nice touch letting us put some charge on the phone while we visited. Definitely worth a visit.

An absolute pleasure. This little cafe was rammed with people when we walked in and now we know why. 🤩 The staff are so friendly & helpful, the coffee is amazing. Their choice of pastries, cakes and tray bakes have you spoiled for choice. You even have the most amazing little Aztec cookie with your coffee. ❤️

Went to Edale Station to await arrival of a friend but they were delayed by an hour. We therefore decided to go for a coffee. Lovely warm friendly atmosphere upon entering. There are places to sit both inside and out. I noted a log burner for colder months and decided we would return and sample the food then. Coffees were served with a complimentary tiny piece of flapjack which was scrummy.

We popped in to pick up a free map for Kinder Scout and then called back in after our hike for a well deserved drink and snack. The cafe itself is lovely, nicely decorated with old memorabilia. It feels welcoming. The cakes are delicious, with generous portions. They were very filling! I had a tea and my son had shot chocolate. The loose leaf tea was a really nice blend and I loved the glass teapot it came in - it allowed the full flavour of the tea to come through.

This was my second time at the cafe, and it never disappoints! By far the best cakes in The Peak District! Home made apparently and best described as delicious. I highly recommend the Pecan & Frangipane, the Bakewell is delightful too!

We called in here about 45mins before closing, but the welcome was warm and friendly, and the cream teas were good! After our tea, as they were finishing for the day, I cheekily asked if they would be selling off the 2 remaining cheese scones at a reduced price - and they very kindly just gave them to us fo nothing! So that provided us with a good part of our supper later! Recommended!

We were having a day out at Mam Tor and got the train to Edale station. The Penny Pot Cafe is literally next to the station. When we arrived we had pop, coffee cheese and onion pasties, vegan rolls and a big birthday cake cookie. There were sheltered tables outside and it is a lovely setting. After walking up Mam Tor we visited again and had crisps, cookies and pop. The birthday cake cookie is the best!! Both times the service was good and food too.

Right next to Edale train station, this is a very busy cafe, full of large groups of walkers, with dogs in tow. Good vegan and veggie pastry options (and sausage rolls, etc), though it seems that once the limited amount of hot pastries have run out in the morning, that's that for the day. Only one toilet, which is unfortunate as many travellers come in off the same train and end up queueing up for it. Nice, spacious outdoor seating area.

Located just next to Edale Station and nestling in trees, the Penny Pot cafe is a perfect place to pop in. There is seating outside and your table may be visited by a friendly robin. You can get a breakfast, light lunch or just drop in for a delicious cake. The scones are perfection! I particularly enjoy the home made soup. Chris is making sure that the Penny Pot is a place where things happen: the Be Kinder Trail, curated by Jarvis Cocker and Jeremy Deller started here. I visited these tearooms with my daughters on Friday 24th May. I have been to other tea shops in Bakewell, but Toscas is by far the best. We had afternoon tea for three of us, we sat outside in the court yard. The afternoon tea arrived and there was lots of lovely cake and sandwiches, beautifully presented, and our host friendly and gave us a warm welcome. We really enjoyed our afternoon tea, very civilised, we will defiantly be visiting again. In fact we will have a day out to bakewell just to visit Toscas .

Lovely venue for a mid morning brunch, limited seating but such a pleasant cafe.

Fantastic cafe, the icing on the cake (no pun intended) being the birds feeding next to the window. The staff are friendly and efficient and the the food is of a good standard and reasonably priced. I can't understand the few negative reviews, maybe some folk have unfeasibly high standards/expectations?

Friendly staff, generous, well cooked breakfast. Highly recommend. We'll definitely call again. Dog friendly too which is a bonus.

I was really hoping for the wholesome, home cooked food that the price tag promised. The bean casserole tasted like a tin of baked beans with a whole load of dried sage stirred in. The salad could have been bought in a bag at Asda. I won't be going back.
