Took my son and grandson to the tearoom , ordered 3 drinks 2 white hot chocolate and 1 mocha. Waited 15 minutes for the arrival of very luke warm drinks. My son mentioned it and the young girl took them away to be reheated. Mocha was a disappointment couldn't taste the chocolate in it. My son wasn't happy. I begrudge paying £11.

We visited the cafe on the way back to our accommodation in pilsley while walking. The cafe was full which is always a great sign we only had drinks and were on our way. But the food that everyone was eating looked so good. I’ll go back tomorrow if I could just to try menu .

For lunch I ordered the Special after asking if the beetroot was actually in the cheese scone. I was told that it was only served on the side. When it came the cheese scone was cut in half and both halves were covered in the beetroot ‘sauce’. I tried to scrape it off, but to no avail. Had the scone been good I would not have complained, but it was completely dry and stale and didn’t taste of cheese at all. My friend loves beetroot and was looking forward to the same meal, but was of the same opinion as me. The manager apologised saying they were always baked fresh on the day, but then went to talk to the chef who told her they were left over from the previous day. They were very pleasant and offered me 2 cakes instead, but a partial refund would have been preferable. As we were leaving two ladies were also complaining about their cheese scones and did get a partial refund. Very disappointing as I don’t think we will go again.

Stopped by Edensor Tea Cottage while visiting Chatsworth House—it's only about 15 minutes away and such a lovely little spot! The chips were delicious and the tea cakes were absolutely delightful. I really loved the warm, cozy atmosphere, especially since it was quite cold outside. The fireplace added such a nice touch and made it feel extra welcoming. Highly recommend if you're in the area and looking for a charming place to relax and enjoy some comfort food. A hidden gem !!

Such a wonderful tea room in a beautiful setting, we popped in on the off chance and wow! We were made to feel so welcome even with our 5 dogs (4 in a pushchair) We had the walnut scones and fruit scones both were excellent and so fresh. I made the mistake of ordering two fruit scones and couldn't eat them as they were so big! Such lovely staff, so kind and helpful we felt really at home. We ordered fresh ham for the dogs and were taken aback because the chef had taken the time and effort to make the ham look like a dog... Thank you so much We will definitely be back again soon! * we came back for the second time in June and again we were made to feel so welcome, we ordered the afternoon tea and it was scrumptious! When we ordered ham for our dogs the chef brought it himself and he'd made it into a bone which was so lovely of him to take the time to add that personal touch thank you 😊 We can see ourselves being regulars. Thank you so much for making us feel so at home it is very much appreciated. See you again soon...

Early March on a warm Sunday we went on a short walk from Chatsworth car park to Edensor village and the cafe. So nice to sit outside though well wrapped up and have a great lunch. It was quite busy so the service was stretched but I had a healthy interesting salad and the others had meals chosen from the menu which all went down well. The cafe has a small car park and a single toilet which was very neat and tidy. We were all very happy our lunch choice.

Over rated mass produced fodder for people who want to act posh . We popped in after a walk , only to be greeted with “ have you booked “ no was our response . The cakes were dry , tasteless and over priced . Probably straight out of a packet .

Has a fabulous "Autumn Afternoon Tea" here with my Mum and sister one Sunday afternoon. What a lovely place - nothing was too much trouble. We let them know one of us is a wheelchair user and they booked us an easy table with this in mind. The afternoon tea was superb - everything very well put together and some of the more delicate flavours (for example the mixed berry compote with the scone) kept the taste very interesting all the way through. We'll absolutely 100% be back in the not too distant future.

In these strange times the menu was varied and interesting. The dirty chips we had were wonderful and a definite to have again, naughty but oh so nice😉 Visited yesterday 29/06/21for a lunch time meal. Great meal very reasonable prices but moreover the food quality is excellent. We both had the honey ham and duck eggs. Fantastic. August 2024. Looks like the ownership may have changed. We dropped in for lunch but my partners food was very definitely over cooked, the waiter asked how our food was and when we told him how poor it was he just smiled and walked away. When I paid the the bill I informed them of the poor quality of my partners food and the waiters lack of interest and they did remove the cost of the meal from the bill. Would now think twice about returning, a real shame as it used to be so good.

We came in on a Friday morning, the staff were quite helpful at first in helping me find a spot with good WiFi connection and a plug for my laptop. My friend and I ordered 3 drinks between two of us. We wouldn't be sitting long if we noticed the restaurant getting busy but it wasn't. The waitress tells us that we would need to leave in 15-20 mins as someone's booked the table. I asked if we could move to another table for two but were told that it would be getting 'full' very soon. 20 mins later, there aren't any new customers in. So I am not sure if that was the case or it was just a ploy for us to leave as we weren't spending enough.

Lovely afternoon tea with my daughter. The staff were really attentive and made sure that my vegetarian daughter was catered for. They went through all the food with us both. We started with warm cheese scones with beetroot butter, then came the platter - a great array of sandwiches, followed by little cakes and truffles, then fruit scones with cream and homemade jam.
