Our choice of the tea cottage for a light lunch turned out to be a great one. The menu isn’t long but it doesn’t need to be because there is plenty of choice and freshness and quick service are the hallmarks. Delightful, apart from the difficulty parking.

Visited here for a midweek breakfast after always hearing great reviews about it. It did not disappoint! Quality over quantity is definitely the key here! The ingredients are SO good! Each component of the breakfast is small but of the best quality so it’s extra delicious. All the staff were super friendly and welcoming and we can’t wait to return!

We were out walking on the Chatsworth estate and decided to go to Edensor to look at village. We hadn't originally intended to stop at the tea barn but the Edensor Platter on the menu looked so nice that we stopped there for lunch. Service was prompt and friendly, the platters were delicious and we enjoyed a very pleasant lunch outside in the warm sunshine (on what we had anticipated would be a cold rainy day!).

A lovely spot for lunch in a delightful cafe in Edensor. The staff were all very friendly and attentive. The menu is varied with lots of options making it difficult to decide. We had the Edensor platter and the stuffed mushrooms. They came beautifully presented and were delicious. We finished with a cup of tea (nice that there was a choice of builders brew and loose leaf tea - we went for builders brew) and a slice of cake. The white chocolate and cherry cake was moist and yummy! There was lots of choice of cakes with gluten free options. Plenty of places to sit inside and out. We didn’t have our dog with us but I will be returning with my dog as they are not just welcome but catered for too with fresh water in bottles, dog toys, blankets and treats.

I was given an afternoon tea voucher for this delightful tea room, which we went to yesterday. My husband and I had not been here previously. There will certainly be return visits and we will be telling family and friends how lovely everything is. Clearly there are some very critical people if they have been unhappy when they visited here. Yes, our table wasn’t ready until our allotted time, we were early. That is as it should be because the table was being cleaned when we arrived. Georgia served us, she was delightful. Yes, the tea room was busy. It was a sunny Sunday afternoon. To be expected. We had come to take our time and not be rushed and that was exactly what happened. On booking I had requested a window seat and that was what we were given. The decor is lovely. There was nothing we did not enjoy about the food. The cheese scone and the cheesecake and the treacle tart were particularly delicious. When chatting to the staff afterwards, we were told a pastry chef comes in each morning to prepare for the afternoon teas. You can’t get much fresher than that. We felt the afternoon tea was very good value for money. I have been to several afternoon teas. Some garden centres now charge similar prices to this and this is a far nicer setting. Someone in another table had Eggs Benedict and that also looked amazing. Well done all.

After a walk around the Chatsworth Estate it was time for a pit stop at the lovely scenic village of Edensor and this fabulous cafe. Very friendly and welcoming staff, plenty of inside/outside seating available and a very good menu choice with lots of yummy cakes to choose from. Service is quick, food is tasty and an ample portion size, this is just a lovely place to enjoy a drink and bite to eat whilst enjoying the surrounding area.

We came in for lunch when out walking for the day and were relieved to get a table as it was busy and looked lovely. The place is gorgeous looking and the food was outstanding, really delicious. We would return in a heartbeat! The toilets were clean as well which is always a bonus. A small negative was having to queue behind people ordering their food in order to get a table, then just being told to find ourselves a table outside. I did also have to ask when our food arrived for them to finish clearing away the previous people's dirty plates, napkins etc (this had been started but not finished). So the table certainly didn't get a clean. I can forgive these points! It was a busy Saturday and the food was, as I say, pretty special.

I called in for lunch whilst my mother was visiting us. So pleased I did. We ordered the soup of the day (carrot and coriander) and a cheese scone. Although the tea rooms were very busy - it was a bank holiday - we were seated promptly and our order taken. The food arrived shortly after, steaming hot soup, dressed perfectly with the most generous aroma and accompanied by a cheese scone as requested. It was hot and scrumptious. We both tucked in and expressed our delight at our choices. Bowls consumed my only disappointment was the realisation that I was too full to enjoy one of the amazing cakes on show, Reasonably priced, excellent quality and fabulous service. Well done.

Perfect little tea cottage, in the heart of the Chatsworth Estate at Edensor, which is a beautiful and very special little village. The staff could not have been more welcoming, we arrived early and they welcomed us in, out from the cold. Opens at 9.30am. We were shown to our table where we could wait in the warm whilst the team set up. Beautiful quirky building, with lots of character with some old traditional features. Lovely friendly staff, the food and service was fabulous. We couldn't fault a thing. I had one of the vegan options, and it was delicious, the rest of the party were just as thrilled with their choices and the service. I noticed some 1 star reviews and these are all mainly due to waiting at busy times, so really not deserved in my opinion! Faultless 10 out of 10 for a perfect service. Thank you to all the staff at Edensor, it was our first visit and we would highly recommend, and return if we were in the area.

We visited this place after a lovely walk through chatsworth park, and what a wonderful place! The management have truly made this a wonderful venue with superb decoration and furnishings. We had booked the autumn afternoon tea and it was absolutely delightful! The little soup cup was delicious to start and the sandwiches were soft and fresh. Following this we had scones and other little seasonal cakes (we had to take some home, which were kindly boxed up), all delicious. Our server Becky was brilliant and we felt really looked after, and the young lady who was the barista Queen (Holly) was also making sure we had plenty of tea. A few outside tables but you have to go inside even if it’s just to see the thickness of the walls! I only had a tea cake and a cuppa… well a huge teapot full of the best tasting tea I’ve had in a long time. Very friendly service and the prices are good value too. Didn’t really want to post a review as I would like to keep this place a secret. Excellent lunch. We were made to feel very welcome. The food was nicely presented and an excellent menu to choose from. Will definitely recommend to friends travelling in the area.

We visited Edensor Tea Rooms last week for a post-Chatsworth Afternoon Tea. It was a perfect end to the day. The staff were super friendly, the cafe was super pretty and the food was super tasty. Our table was ready for us on arrival, there...

We had not been here for over 20 years. It does not seem as grand as we remembered it with high prices. It was a challenge getting here as we came through Manchester total nightmare.

Whilst I cannot fault the quality of the food, the lack of toilet facilities causes me a major problem. Previously when we have visited here we were able to use the toilets belonging to the pub next door. Having mobility problems and on medication , I politely asked if it would be possible to use the staff WC. This was refused and I was told to use the public toilets which were a considerable distance away. It took me a very painful 25 minute walk to go there and back.I am 85 years old, leaning heavily on a walking stick . I feel very disappointed as i have visited this fish shop many times in the past.

Really lovely food, you wouldn't know it from the outside/inside - it's like any other pub but the food was really good. Had the best dessert - rice pudding with apple and nuts - to die for.

We went for Sunday lunch and it was probably the best I've had, the meat melted in your mouth and the veg was brilliant with meaty gravy

Arrived around 10:45 am on 10/11/24 only to be informed that there was no hot food being served until 11:15 due to a take away order. Others in front of us left and we reluctantly ordered two coffees, a flapjack and a Pork Pie instead of the full cooked breakfasts we’d hoped for. We were charged twice for the Pork Pie, which we pointed out and were subsequently refunded for. We sat at a table that had the previous occupants breakfast plate on it (which was never cleared, considering the waiting on staff weren’t serving any food at the time) and waited for our coffee which did not arrive. We fetched it ourselves from the counter, at which point around 11:05, they started taking breakfast orders again. The place seemed poorly managed and why you’d turn away valued customers for a take away order is beyond me.
