Great little takeaway. Food won't blow you away but it's good enough for the price.

Some of the best Chinese takeaway I’ve had and incredibly good value for money: 1/4 duck with pancakes, mixed hor dourves and chicken chow mein main to £25 (very good) . I highly recommend the starter mixed hor dourves. It was well priced at £9.20 for 2 people, there was a good taste of lots of different foods and they were all incredibly tasty and plentiful. The chicken satays were juicy and tender unlike many takeaways I’ve tried. The service was very fast and friendly, restaurant seemed clean.

Live in the next village, but first time I have used this takeaway. Honestly one of the best I have ever used. I rang and asked for starters and main from the menu (all genorous portions of great quality), and one that they don't usually do (vermicelli noodle Chow Mein - absolutely fabulous). Will use many times. Can't recommend enough.

Cheap and good quality, fried noodles, fried rice and duck with onions are also delicious. The staff are also very friendly and approachable. Worth recommending, keep going!

Nice takeaway. Took us a few minutes to find it. Easy parking a minutes walk away. Didn't take card, which was a nuisance as none of our party used cash so we had to go and find a cashpoint. Food was lovely and not too expensive.

Awful. I’m 70+ and I’ve had a LOT of Chinese takeaways in my time. This is without a shadow of a doubt the worst ever. Supposed to be chicken green Thai curry but had this weird fatty rubbery substance which was just inedible, in something which tasted like milk with some chilli powder in it. Revolting, went in the bin

Extremely friendly. Excellent customer service. Food freshly cooked and tasty. We had chicken balls, vegetarian spring rolls, garlic chicken, sesame prawn toast, special fried rice, chicken chow mein, beef chow mein. All tasty. Allergy information clearly displayed. Any questions was answered promptly which was reassuring. Definitely worth a try.

We were only in Bakewell for four nights, but this place was so good we ordered here twice! Probably the nicest takeaway Chinese I've had. Great choice of vegetarian dishes with tofu, mock duck and mock chicken. Loads of vegetables in the dishes. Please come and open another branch in Stoneygate, Leicester 😉

Great food, fast & friendly service. Particularly enjoyed the mock duck with green pepper and black bean sauce, and the mushroom & broccoli. Cash only is a minor drawback.

Food was quite nice, not the best I've had but would definitely go back. As for finding it was quite funny as it's up a side road and i basically used my nose to sniff my way to it.the chap behind the counter was funny and talkative.good size portions.

AVOID awful my uncle and I had a takeaway last night and a now very poorly with food poisoning STAY AWAY

We ordered half a crispy duck and pancakes for almost £17 for the dish and we literally recieved salty dry shredded CHICKEN mixed with about 1% duck. It was like they had run out of duck and thought we wouldn't notice the difference. What a disappointment. The cucumber with it was also out of date and slimy. They only take cash, didn't provide a receipt and we wouldn't get a refund.

Just had special curry fried rice special chow mien and crackers didn’t order till I got there waited 15mins cash only but fine the food was spot on and tasty with extra veg will definitely use them again o yes £19.50 cash

Awesome place! The foods are good. The staff is friendly also. We don't know it's cash only and the staff introduces the nearest ATM we can use. Definitely a worthy restaurant to pick up during the trip at Bakewell!

Got our order wrong ( number 6 ( 10/9/21) and the taste was bland with too much onion to bulk it up . Should have check before I left as it was £3 more thank I worked it out , boiled rice missing and in its place a beef meal .. they all tasted the same . When it was a restaurant it was good , won’t be going back

Service was poor. They wouldn't do a half rice half chips like every Chinese takeaway I've been to does, so will make you get full portions. They also don't take card. Had to ask where nearest cash machine was and they just pointed and said up there. I came back with the money and got no acknowledgement and had to ask a few times to pay for my order. No apologies for these things, just rude service. Curry sauce was a bit too thick, the egg fried rice just came plain and the chicken wings were overdone a little, too crispy. Overpriced.

Avoid, disgusting service, had lovely food from here before, tonight however different service ribs chewy, salt and pepper chips double fried and hard. Chow Mein greasy, king prawns inedible tasted off. Rang to complain to be met with an arrogant man who didn't want to do anything, called me a liar stating i rang order through over 1 hr before i complained, stating i had eaten the food, granted the skewers were fine but the rest was in the bag. I had 15min journey back home. After much deliberating i stated i would come down to the shop with the food. I was met by a man who was so rude, he stated i had eaten some of it which i stated was only the skewers. After 10minutes he said "i have blocked your number and we don't like customers like you here" and did eventually refund my money, this was infront of other customers, appauling customer service, needless to say we wouldn't have returned anyway, sad as this the only local shop.

The menu on the website isn't the menu that they have anymore so make sure you get the correct menu before you order. Food is good though

This is the only Chinese takeaway in Bakewell so they have the monopoly. The guy who takes the order is rude and rushes. Yet again this evening for the 4th time in a row the order had items missing when we got home.2 dissatisfied kids who were looking forward to a chow mein. When you ring to complain the guy denies the order was wrong, yet he still managed to charge us for the items he claimed we didnt order. My advice is do not leave the premises until you are certain your order is complete.The food is average. We will not be using this takeaway ever again.

We called around 10 minutes ago to place an order for takeaway for collection. When we got through we were told to wait a second. After a minute or so we were asked what we wanted. Started to tell them what we would like to which they responded it will be around 50 minutes. We said great so half past seven. He said no it will be later. After a few minutes of trying to find out what time we could collect to which the repeated answer was I can’t tell you!! We decided we would have to try elsewhere. It really is a shame to have been met with such poor attitude over the phone. We have recommended in the past this takeaway as we had previously had a very good experience. Never will we ever order from here again.

Ordered at the takeaway and only waited around 15 minutes, all of the food was delicious, not super greasy/salty like some other restaurants we've visited. Pretty fair pricing for the quality, Not sure why Escape519578 underneath me has called it dire?... presume they have their knickers in a bunch just because it was cash only... definitely not "warmed up" either....

Love a good Chinese. Visited for first and definitely last time. Should have picked up the warning signs - massive menu, ready in 5 minutes, no customers waiting, cash only (with COVID and they didn’t tell us when we ordered over the phone) and only a 3/5 food hygiene rating which is worrying. Food was just dire, not freshly cooked, just warmed up - worst Chinese ever. Sweet and sour chicken was just a mess, overcooked veg, wouldn’t have know it had any chicken in it. With so many good places to dine in Bakewelltagive this one a big miss. Quite expensive too.

Notiçes all over the windows saying it's been reposest and now closed.!!!. Apparently they are operating from the old Bamboo Cottage take away. Zero rating on hygiene,so won't be trying there .

My second time visiting and it was as good as the first time I went. Good and quick service and food was delicious. The egg fried rice is especially my favourite, and is something I could eat all the time! I did not give 5 *’s as for myself I’m particular with my food so there was only a couple of options for me.

We ordered a takeaway to pick up whilst on holiday in Bakewell - despite 2 of us being vegetarian and 2 pescetarian, the menu was extensive enough for us to be able to order multiple starters and choose between a variety of main courses. The staff on the phone were polite and helpful with all our enquiries (including portion sizes as we were sharing starters), and the bill worked out at around £15 each for around 8 starters and 5 mains - really cheap given the quality of the food and portion size! Despite being really busy, the man who I assume was the manager? let us sit inside the restaurant to wait for our food as it was cold outside and we'd turned up early for collection - despite this, he still apologised for any wait + gave us a bunch of extra fortune cookies :) Literally can't fault our experience with the takeaway - I'd recommend it to anyone.

Visited here during a short stay in Bakewell, booked for a Wednesday evening for 8pm.Shown to a pleasant table upstairs and given complimentary prawn crackers and dip. Service was prompt and friendly, as usual we were the last ones in even though they are open until 11, however we did not feel rushed or pushed out which was lovely. We ordered a bottle of house wine which surpassed expectations! For starters we shared Prawn roast and 1/4 duck and pancakes, plenty of food, great quality. We then had beef in chilli and ginger, along with crispy chilli beef. Both fantastic. We had 2 sides which in hindsight we didn’t require - portions are huge! Finished the meal with a recommended Chinese tea, delicious! Would recommend and return if in the area.

We ordered a takeaway as the menu looked really interesting with plenty of choices. The portion sizes were good, and value for money. It tasted amazing, and was the nicest Chinese food I have eaten in a very long time. We wish we lived nearer, as this would be a regular treat. The staff were really helpful and friendly too.

Had food here before , which has been fine , rang up the other day to see if I could order a takeaway, unfortunately they was shut & I didn’t realise and rang someone answered the phone and was awful very rude screamed down the phone “NO NO NO “ however all I asked was please could I order food for collection , I would of understood if I was rude however I wasn’t ! & has put me of never returning !

Really delicious! Great food, a little pricey but worth it. There’s not much variety other than pubs in bakewell so this is a welcome change. I’d advise to book though as they were fully booked on a weds night. Mixed starters were a good choice.

We were staying in Bakewell overnight and ate at this Chinese restaurant. The staff were very friendly and complied with the government guidelines. The food was amazing and one of the best we have eaten. Would definitely recommend a visit.

We have eaten here and had takeaways many many times, it's our local. Our daughter cannot have gluten, we know the dishes they can cook for us and it's never been a problem. So when our teens decided to have a dinner out without us, it was the obvious choice for safety and food they know to order. However on this occasion Sunday Aug 30th, the waiter after seating them, told them that no vegetable could be gluten free. He refused to take their order and continued to make rude remarks to them and about them as they obviously, but very quietly, decided to leave.We are obviously looking for a new local for our Chinese takeaway. Very disappointing.

We stay near Bakewell once a year and really look forward to visiting Eastern Court. They’re always extremely busy so it’s best to book ahead. The food is gorgeous and great quality. Staff are always lovely and friendly too. Can’t wait to come back again!

Lovely food but disappointed we didn’t get the food we actually ordered!! When we got home we discovered we had 2 crispy duck pancakes in stead on 1, no special fried rice☹️ no crispy chilli beef but we did get some random chicken dish we hadn’t ordered. This has happened before here. More care needs to be taken preparing the orders. Otherwise delicious food.

We had a delicious takeaway meal last night. But sadly only half the dishes were correct. Somehow got 2 crispy ducks instead of one, no special fried rice, and the crispy beef was replaced by some chicken dish (not sure what it was). Everything tasted great but you can’t have that much of a lottery for your meal!

We've had several takeaways over the last few months and every-time it was delicious! Everything was cooked to perfection and couldn't fault any of the meals! It might appear pricey when paying for it, but you get a lot for your money and when it tastes really good you don't mind paying for it!Will definitely come and dine now that restrictions have eased sometime!

Charged £2 for prawn crackers...what absolute snides!

Nice food. Its a good place for a quick treat but is also quite expensive.

Visited with family, the food was lovely and we couldn’t fault any of it. Service was friendly and efficient and overall reasonably priced. However in the current times that we live in their had been no alteration to the table set up and tables are far too close. The people sitting behind are probably less the .5 of a metre away, such that you cannot get past to the toilets and you need to walk around. On first arrival track and trace and sanitiser are asked to be used but it seems that this is as far as they are prepared to go and do not want to reduce the number of seats they can fill. This can be avoided if they used the tables downstairs and removed possibly 1 round table upstairs..

Based on other reviews we decided to order a takeaway from here as we couldn’t get a seat in the restaurant. Aromatic duck was bland , not crispy and the pancakes, cucumber and spring onions seemed old and stale. Spring rolls also seemed stale and had a strange flavour. Chicken in black bean was tasteless - more like a gravy. Sweet and sour pork hong kong style - pork had a strange batter and the sauce was overwhelmingly sweet. Maybe a bad night but wouldn’t recommend based ok what we had.

Visited here as a treat whilst camping in the Peak District. The staff were very friendly and it was one of the best Chinese takeaways I’ve had. Personal favourite was the crispy aromatic duck and sweet and sour chicken. Would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting the area and would happily eat there again.

We have eaten here twice. The food is lovely. My favourite Lemon Chicken was spot on. My partner has King Prawn Chow Mien. Our only mistake was ordering rice. One portion per couple is more than enough. Drinks reasonably priced. Lovely glass of white wine £4.00. Cannot comment on dessert as we were too full. Staff very friendly and efficient. Would definitely eat there again.

While staying in Bakewell for a couple of days on our first night we decided we both fancied a Chinese, and put it this way we went there the second night aswell, very good food and excellent staff. The price of the meal and drinks were very reasonable and of good quality

As per other reviews staff very friendly and menu was great. We had the house special chow mein which was great and glad we did not order rice as well as huge. Seafood mixed started also fab. Definitely recommend and will visit again

So disappointed - we ordered Hong Kong style sweet and sour chicken, egg fried rice and a quarter crispy duck with pancakes. The duck was old and dry, the sweet and sour sauce was so incredibly sweet we couldn’t eat it and the rice was really bland. Maybe they were just having a bad day but given the inflated pricing we assumed the quality would be there.

I can't recommend this restaurant more highly. Arrived on the off chance that they'd have a table and thankfully they could seat the two of us. The staff were wonderful, they couldn't be more helpful or lovely. The food was possibly one of the best Chinese meals I've ever tasted. Definitely worth a visit

On New Years day we decided to have a Chinese takeaway meal and rang up on the afternoon to see if they did a delivery service and was told yes. In the evening we rang up to give them our order only to be told that they would not deliver to Over Hadden that was only 2 miles away.
