The best restaurants in East Midlands

If are not a regular in this pub do not go they and the pub favours the regular over new customers

Absolute waste of time! Far too many tables for the size of the room, clearly not enough staff on shift (3 floor and 1 bar for a full restaurant on a friday!), incredibly long wait times both for orders to be taken and for food to arrive. A waiter told us twice that he would be with us in a moment and said our food with be with us in a few minutes, and we were left waiting each time. We ordered 2 drinks together and they arrived separately (obviously not a huge deal but with everything else it was just another sign of bad service and no organisation). Over an hour and 20 minutes later when our food arrived it was simply boring. Dry lamb, bland vegetables, unseasoned fries, cold untoasted store bought pitta and overcooked dry falafel on a bed of undressed flavourless shredded lettuce. Tables that were seated after us were eating before us. We had to flag down staff every single time rather than having an assigned waiter checking on us. As a waitress myself I would be completely embarrassed by every part of the service given but I do not blame the floor staff as they were clearly overbooked and understaffed. There was no sign of a manager in control of the situation. When given the bill they had the cheek to add on a service charge after not even doing simple acts of service like taking orders in a timely manner, checking back on the food or pouring wine. Overall it was a complete waste of our evening.

Lovely pub especially after a long walk. The steak and ale pie was amazing with good beer on tap to accompany it.

Excellent value food and staff happy to help with food allergies to make your meal safe. Would really recommend their mega breakfast

very friendly, cosy and oh so nice chocolates. we had amaretto and tangerine little bon bons ! also dark hot chocolate and double espresso were superb! 10 out of 10 for me !

Went out with with family for lunch. I had the lamb, which was mostly fat and grease. It looked awful and there was no way I could eat it. It took a long time for me to finally get the attention of a member of staff. They were all congregating at the bar area talking. They were all oblivious to diners and did not ask if everything was OK, hence the long wait. Eventually someone saw me and came over. I refused to have it replaced as another portion would be the same. I was given a free dessert though (eh...) This so called restaurant is overrated and extremely disappointing. There are some great places to eat. Unfortunately this isn't one of them.

Called in today for a Samosa and Pakora fix. Superb.Great choice of food. Best Pakora I’ve had since leaving Birmingham. Highly recommend.

I love Bellins ..however I was little disappointed. It was very busy with some big tables and felt that we had been squeezed in ..we had booked 3 weeks in advance so mot just a walk in. The antipasti..was meat n salad and a few pickles ..no cheese ...also the main was ready befor..we had finished our starter ..just felt a little unwelcome ...Maybe just a busy night but it wasn't our best experience

What a lovely little farm shop - great selection of fresh produce, meats and cheeses. The lamb and mint pie was so delicious! Lovely little cafe where you can watch the riding school have horse riding lessons as well!

I very rarely leave negative reviews even if I do not enjoy the food.. We do not know how any of the cakes or doughnuts taste like as after 10 minutes of listening to two employees happily chatting to each other in the back of the store, we decided to leave. No one was willing to serve us. And will definitely not return. Whilst we were waiting, another person wanted to order but then he decided to leave too.. Explains why they still have so much cake left..

Loved their scrambled eggs salmon with cream cheese and chives

The best fish and chips in Stapleford. Friendly team a real asset to our area. Fresh crispy batter and beautifully cooked chips. Always good!
