Really lovely place, staff were attentive and friendly, food was fresh and delicious, we had the club sandwich and Mexican tortilla, will definitely visit again next time we are here.

Met a friend for brunch. Sunny weather so sat outside and watched the world go by, it's a perfect sun trap. Had their special scrabbled eggs, three eggs with smoked salmon mixed in on brown bread. Absolutely delicious. Followed by a slice of Oreo cream cake which was equally lovely. Relatively recently changed hands and great to see such high standards being met. Will definitely be returning. Was impressed so much that to people stopping to look at the menu board I was extolling the virtues and garnering some extra trade for them !

Really good tasting food. I had a club sandwich but swapped the mayo for hummus. The sandwich was fantastic. Mango smoothie was ok, wouldn’t order that again. When back in Loughborough I will visit again though. This is a nice central location and easy to find.

Lots of options on the menu including lots of options for gf + vegan. The wait for the food is a little long but definitely worth it for the fresh yummy food!

Tastiest , freshest English breakfast. Scrambled eggs cooked with care and perfect! A pile of tasty streaky bacon and a decent sausage with beans and toast. The coffee was hot and tasted lovely! Very pleased. Atmosphere and staff very friendly. Loo was clean and tidy with space. Windows and doors allowed air to circulate so not stuffy. Seating in annd outside. I’m going back next time I stop in Loughborough. Thank you

Best service we ve ever experienced. The milkshakes were delicious 😋 The coffee was smooth and had well balanced aroma. We tried the gluten free brownie and the vegan club sandwich. Had a few breakfasts in Loughborough but this is by far the best. Ingredients are decent. The sausage and hash brown quality is always a good indicator of a good quality full English breakfast. I like proper orange juice too not cheap concentrated stuff and this is exactly what I got. Brecky and juice was just under a tenner but well worth it. No quibble on swapping out the mushrooms and fiddling with the main menu either. Im a fussy customer… Recommended.

Excellent breakfast options and their coffee hits the spot. Recently tried their homemade chocolate brownie and it was delicious. I had to slow myself down and savour every bite of the brownie.

First time going here today and the GF food is phenomenal! The staff are friendly and kind and the environment is lovely and clean! Thank you for being so nice to me today I fully enjoyed my GF food and experience. ( I even took food home!)

Poor service. Poor food. Looks like Costco cakes just with extra cream on top. Place looks better on social media but is like a cemetery when you are there. Main boss is a muppet. Go to fifty three cafe instead or coffee #1..those two shops are way better. BaoCrap cafe.

The personalised panini was beautifully constructed! The elderflower and lemon cake was very interesting (the blend was lovely!) and was absolutely beautifully designed! The hot chocolate was tasty and the latte was so beautifully done! I also had another slice of cake 🙈. The vegan chocolate orange cake was wonderful! What a great selection for all types of diets. Vegan, vegetarian, meat eaters, pescatarians, those with allergies. My favourite part was of course the lovely ladies who worked there! They just made me feel like we had been friends for a while and genuinely cared if my food was lovely. They blessed me with their kindness and presence. Thank you so much! May God bless you all.

Went to Loughborough with daughter to review Uni accomm. Found this place for lunch. Extensive menu. Freshly prepared with excellent service. Wish they had a similar cafe near our home

To expand on an earlier review…. We regularly visited here under the previous ownership. Unfortunately the new owners don’t adhere to the same standards. If you can’t get a table’s order of some beans on toast and a couple of jacket potatoes out within 30 minutes of one another, then there’s a serious problem. Regardless of the missing order, all meals appeared at different times across a 45 minute period. I’m not sure that trying to gaslight customers that have left negative reviews is the best way for new owners to endear themselves. Having extracted the long black hair that had wound itself around my tooth, I can confirm its existence. Is it more if less gross when it’s in the final bite? Ultimately, if your customers aren’t bothering to come to you with these sorts of complaints, maybe consider how you’ve not dealt with the multiple complaints that preceded it in that visit. Perhaps invest in some hairnets as well.

Went here for a sunny day with my friends. Everything was amazing - there were so many vegan and gluten-free options which supports everybody, no matter what they eat. The drinks, sandwiches and desert we ordered came freshly created and just the way we wanted. In general, this is the best tourist stop in Loughborough for coffee.

Took over 30 mins to deliver coffee our baked potatoes were dry they came without butter even though we asked for it plus there was very little topping on the potatoe but the side salad was good Had to pay parking as the wait was over an hour before food arrived did comment on this but was met with a shrug and a sorry I think they forgot our order as others came in after us ate then left and we were still sitting there Will not be returning

Ordered beans on toast bread looked like it had been microwaved not toasted, sandwich had hair in it there was 7 of us last meal arrived 50 minutes after the first meal Ordered cheese toasties it arrived like it had been microwaved sent it back only one side had been toasted cost a fortune will never get my customer again

Visited again today, as always the food was great and the milkshakes were great too, highly recommend the Biscoff milkshake! A little longer on the wait for food today but it was a busy Saturday lunch!

We came here last year, back again and had to come back as it was so good. There’s a new management team…wow, better than last year. Great for ALL dietary needs….well done everyone! Red Espresso is genius (and tastes lush!).

Absolutely amazing cafe. The food is of excellent quality, great value and the staff are so friendly. The owner and her sister are what adds the extra special touch to the cafe. We look forward to coming here and always leave full and in top spirits. We will be coming back again and again.

Wow.. Baobab Cafe is a great gem. It was my first visit during a trip to Loughborough to see some friends and this place did not disappoint! They had an extensive menu of so many delectable treats and the hot drinks selection was unparalleled, boasting the finest blends. But what I found that truly set Baobab Cafe apart was its remarkable staff and owners, who exuded warmth and hospitality as soon as I walked through the door! Being spoilt for choice, I opted for a light lunch and decided to go for a cafe club ... the portion was so filling with the best flat white coffee that I’ve ever tasted! I was tempted with the list of amazing desserts but decided to leave that for my next visit..this place has something for everyone and from the moment you step through the door, you’re welcomed like family.. can’t wait to try some of the other great things on the menu when I visit next! Thank you Baobab cafe for such a great experience 😊

One of my favorite places in the town center to stop and grab a coffee and a bite to eat. The food is excellent, providing a wide selection of options, from a lovely sandwich to something hot. The coffee is out of this world and beats the likes of Costa or Starbucks, hands down, which are just a rip-off due to their names (always support local businesses ❤️). The staff are so friendly, and the new management team have hit the ground running in taking over this local gem seamlessly, without sacrificing the quality, service, or efficiency of this busy hot spot. Keep up the amazing work and service Baobab team! 👏🏼

Unbelievably slow service for a local cafe, not what it used to be. Seems to be under new management which are very disorganised. Food was okay and town atmosphere is always nice but came away disappointed overall.

Something draws me to the place. Nice atmosphere good coffee and cakes. Readable price and I like the triple decker club sandwich. Plus they have very nice biltong. I can't resist a snack on that. Don't know where else in the area does genuine biltong.

Student-y vibe, busy, noisy. A few sofas in among spindly chairs and small tables. Despite the name, not a specifically African theme. Food healthy, world-y, tasty but not fancy. Take their coffee seriously, with many beans on offer.

A nice little cafe, with lots of options, most importantly to me is whole-wheat bread for all the sandwiches. The staff were super friendly.

Absolutely amazing 🤩 the food is incredible and so are the staff. It’s very family friendly but not too noisy so I can sit and work here. Free WiFi. Gluten and dairy free products available. The owner Peter is celiac so has search far and wide and works with one of the best bakeries in the country to get the most amazing gluten free bread I have ever had. The cakes were fantastic and the choices are huge. If your in Nottinghamshire or Leicestershire you must drop in for breakfast lunch or tea! Not to be missed. It’s now a favourite place of ours and we have travelled to 20+ coy countries this year!

Food is good, but it's expensive. I'm also not vegan, so I could do with a bacon roll from time to time... but they do decent black coffee.

Walked in out of the rain. Lovely warm atmosphere. Served by a very friendly and helpful Polish lady. Bought a really good coffee, biltong and boerewors. Dog friendly too! My only gripe is that despite an extensive menu I saw nothing featuring the best sausage in the universe - BOEREWORS! A sad omission, but I left with frozen packets of The Holy Sausage to cook myself. Highly recommended. I will be back before I leave the Costa del Loughborough.

We recently visited Loughborough to meet friends and I found Baobab Cafe. We certainly weren't disappointed. We had the vegan breakfast which was delicious and our friends really enjoyed their full English breakfast. A choice of vegan desserts too. The atmosphere was relaxed and the staff friendly. Good value for money. We liked it so much we came back the following week.

Went here as advised is great for Coeliacs & I'm pleased to say it lived up to the hype. Went during peak lunch time on a Saturday so service wasn't the fastest, and when our table was cleaned they took the table number with them, so I watched my all day breakfast do a few loops round before they found me 🤣 But it was well worth the wait. Recommend to any other Coeliacs or Gluten sensitive/avoiding who want a fuss-free meal 😊

Where do I start, Baobab is fantastic. The owner and his wife are so friendly and welcoming from the minute you walk through the door you are greeted with a smile. The staff are always attentive and polite and make the bit so enjoyable. I ordered an omelette today with toast and beans and my better half ordered her usual Famous scrambled eggs. To drink my partner had a dirty chai latte and I wanted to try the white hot chocolate. The owner advised me to try it with an espresso shot and I wouldn't be disappointed and boy he wasn't wrong. It's like a thick creamy latte delight and I'd highly recommend to anyone who likes a creamy coffee experience. The food arrived hot and fresh and as always, was amazing. We use Baobab for our go to breakfast location every time we are in Loughborough due to the experience from start to finish and I would happily recommend to anyone to give them a try.

First time going there and found it to be a great place to chill/socialise/work. Staff were super friendly and accommodating. No exaggeration but their matcha latte was the best I’ve ever had compared to all the mainstream coffee shops. The food was great, even have an option to create your own sandwich which lots of filling to choose from. Have a great selection of cakes too which equally taste just as great as the food.

I was in Loughborough for the day and was having a late breakfast, fantastic service and friendly staff loads of vegetarian options,prices are reasonable and the taste and portions are great. Nice cappuccino if again in Loughborough will definitely visit again.

Would 💯not recommend!! Ordered salmon & scrambled eggs, 1slice of toast & couple of tiny bits of salmon mixed in egg!! For £6.25 rip off also ordered brown bread sandwich with butter, came up on white bread, changed it for brown but didn’t have butter, should so really dry, should have just asked for money back but we were really hungry….Lesson learnt!!! Spoke to manager to complain said he couldn’t do anything@ least he could have asked if we wanted a tea, coffee or cake as a goodwill gesture…..would never use these again!!!

Staff powering thru mask-induced lightheadedness/face-shielded like riot-police:D) Food\drink still top-notch, not mentioning service as that’s always been par excellence👍🏽👍🏽

We ended up here around 2pm the first sat after Freshers after the place we intended to go had no food left. I’m so glad they didn’t! It was busy but we found a seat and it didn’t take long to order. We were starving so had the works but left with a doggie bag as the portions are decent. The milkshakes are 9 year old approved. Staff are lovely, menu caters for all, including kids, and they were big and fully staffed enough to cope with a busy, rainy Saturday crowd without making us feel rushed or making us wait. If I lived closer I’d visit more regularly. 4 stars for atmosphere as some patrons seemed a bit grumpy. Perhaps hungover? I hope they cheered up after a decent meal and coffee.

Lovely friendly staff. Fresh, well presented tasty vegan breakfast, plenty of it! Sat outside in the sunshine. Food was hot, and cooked well, couldn’t fault it. Lovely pot of tea with a choice of plant based milks. I came back later on for cake to take home , that was tasty too!

We stopped in Loughborough for a lunch break on our drive home from Yorkshire to London. We’re so happy we chose Baobab Cafe. The menu all looked delicious and I was really impressed by the gluten free options. Having read the other reviews and after speaking to the staff I was very confident that care would be taken in preparing my meal. The Cape Club sandwich was delicious and the brownie perfect. The atmosphere in the cafe was lovely and the staff were super friendly. This will be our go-to place for our journeys to the north. Thanks so much to everyone at Baobab, we hope to see you soon!

I recently visited Baobab Cafe with my family all the way from Ireland. We were absolutely delighted with the experience. The cafe's menu is truly amazing, catering to every dietary requirement. The variety of options ensured that each member of my family found something they loved. The homemade cakes were a delightful treat, and the locally roasted coffee was simply delicious. What made our visit even more special was the fact that my daughter proclaimed the milkshake she had as the best she's ever tasted. Baobab Cafe has certainly left a lasting impression on us, and we'll definitely be back whenever we're in the area. Thank you Baobab Cafe

We enjoyed a nice lunch here, we opted for two baguettes. One with chicken, bacon and lettuce and the other with tuna Mayo and sweetcorn. The baguettes were freshly toasted which made for a nice crispy exterior but leaving the inside perfectly soft. We didn’t really care for the nachos and would have appreciated a choice of crisps or maybe the option to add a side of chips, however this wasn’t available. The rocky roads were unbelievably good! Just the perfect level of sweetness and pack with soft crumbling biscuit… plus they were huge!

Kind and friendly welcome when entering from the staff. Great fast service to the table. Lovely food and drink. Would recommend to anyone as the menu choices cater majority of dietary needs with a vast selection to choose from. I will definitely visit again.

I'm not sure what cakes the previous review had but our cakes are always delicious and we've tried almost all of them now! I can't recommend this place enough they cater for all sorts of dietary requirements especially for vegans (my girlfriend) and gluten free (I'm coeliac). The options for both of us are exceptional so if you are vegan or gluten free definitely check this place out!

Fantastic for any Ceoliac. Good food. Good service. Let down a bit by the ambience created by bright orange tables and chairs which make it feel a bit down market (like an Easyjet lounge) from the outside.

Lovey meal here today I had a Mexican wrap it was great the menu here meets everyone's needs from vegan to the big breakfast and loads in between. Love it.

As my family don’t eat onion nor garlic, the owners really accommodated for that. We had the Veggie Club Sandwich, Vegan Lotus Biscoff Cheesecake, Vegan Hot Chocolate with Marshmallows and Cream and Pineapple Juice. Great service and food overall - will definitely recommend
