The Queen Victoria in Charnwood

Sat down for lunch, only had an hour waited for 20 mins and decided to leave and get fish and chips from Syston chippy, as we had run out of time. However received a mouthful from the overworked waitress on way out. Not been back since.

Can't make any comment on the food and atmosphere as I was only in the "back bar/restaurant" for a wake. The staff were friendly even in the difficult circumstance.

Visited for a Company Xmas lunch, and it was a very enjoyable experience. Will certainly return.

Clearly a popular local pub, with the standard pub food options. A few vegetarian and vegan options. All our dishes were thoughtfully prepared and presented. Service was occasionally slow.

First time visit. Slow service, small portions with expensive prices. A small plate for the carvery with a tiny amount of meat, £14. This is the adult portion. Staff seemed stressed out and off the ball. Carvery food section is tiny and basic. Meat dry. Had great expectations, sadly will not be returning and left feeling frustrated and out of pocket.

Super experience even though we had not booked. The pub was lovely with a restaurant extension (come in via the restaurant entrance to avoid the bar queue!) We sat indoors by the window and had a good view of the garden where there was a children's play area. we ordered the cod & chips, and a chicken & halloumi burger with fries. The food was piping hot, best burger I've had In a while from a pub .. The fish and chips were great, a special mention is deserving of the mushy peas which bought the great parts together. Totally worth the trip out..

I’m new to the area and have been in here half a dozen times with a friend since I moved to Syston. Can’t fault the place! Welcoming, friendly and lovely atmosphere. Had 3 meals there so far and can’t fault the service or quality. One was the weekly carvery roast, another was a meal from the Travelling Taverna and today was the chicken and bacon pie. Superb quality. The chicken and bacon pie was nothing short of amazing. Its the kind of place you can go into on your own and feel comfortable, plus you can take your dog in with no issues at all. Thank you so much for not only making me feel welcome but for the amazing food.

We went to the Vic after seeing a advert for the kids play area, there was a swing and climbing frame. The food was expensive, and the bar service on a hot Saturday afternoon was being done by 1 person, not good.

Menu limited, not the best service, we waited quite a while for our meal. Please remove skinny fries off the menu. They are dry, bland and cold. What's with the dark interior? A bit a light would be good. The food was tasty, we had burgers but nothing special

Thought this was a gastro pub! No so in my opinion.

Went to the rave on Friday, it was banging and very busy, loved it, good pub anyway but cool that they're doing event's like this.

Great food, good drinks and lovely setting. Family and children friendly. Parking can be small but there are opportunities and near by streets.

Had the Sunday roast lunch with Family. Nice rear Restaurant room. Food was cooked ok. Yorkshire with stuffing in them were good with a crispy top! Average pricing and Staff attentive. Only negatives were the server on the meats used the same knife to cut all three meats and I don’t eat Beef. For the price there should be a Vegetarian gravy on offer.

Immaculately presented landlord, well aware of his customers needs overseeing a dozen diners poring over a beautifully presented and eclectic menu. First class cuisine and service, no wonder this place already has such great ratings and deservedly takes pride of place amongst other emperors of public houses within the good beer guide.

Very well presented, fantastic staff, plenty of space and well stocked on all manner of drinks. Food is fantastic also - Highly recommended.

Lovely pub nice outdoor seating area plus extended lawn with tables beyond. Great choice of gin too. Need to come back on a Sunday I hear they do an excellent roast.

Brilliant pub good food and entertainment

Lovely home made Sunday roast, the food was well presented, well prepared and piping hot, after dinner we sat in the garden and enjoyed a drink in the sun, if you are after a traditional Sunday dinner this is perfect.

Beautiful pub on the outskirts of Leicester, well presented with very helpful and professional staff. Food was lovely.

Service was slow. 5 people behind bar was more concerned about each others day than serving customers

The environment is generally charming and hygiene is maintained to the highest standard. The carvery is good value and the staff are polite, however in recent times their rate of service has declined in that it's become something of a lottery as to who gets asked if they would like a dessert or not when the dishes are being cleared away.

Enjoyed our lunch and would go again.

Great service and well catered to as vegans for a Sunday lunch with family. Veg was perfect and it was wonderful to have a vegan dessert that wasn't the typical sorbet offered at most places. Special thank you to Ella for such lovely service.

We've just come back from another fantastic carvery at The Queen Vic. Fantastic food, lovely staff and all topped off with a few beautifully kept pints of Tiger. Outstanding as always, Mark and Zoe should be very proud 😊

Went here for a Sunday carvery which was beautiful, 3 selections of meat and plenty of vegetables. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. There is also plenty to choose from if you fancy a nice drink.

Always nice to visit the Queen Vic, always made to feel welcome, plenty of out door space in the summer and they have bouncy castles for the kids in the summer months. They also have a lovely dinning building where you can get a lovely Sunday dinner or take the good lady for a romantic meal in the evening. 5 stars all the way from us it would be 10 stars if it went that high

This was our first time here the carvery was absolutely beautiful everything cooked just perfect only thing I missed was some mashed potatoes but it lovely would recommend deffo going again 😋

Had a surprise 50th party here, Zoe and the team made us feel very welcome, the buffet they put on was great, all adults and kids had a fab time, highly recommended!!

Excellent traditional pub, with Everards beers & a number of other great guest cask ales. Spacious beer garden & a hearty carvery in the restaurant.
