The best restaurants in England

BEWARE!!! ...The cocktails are very weak, and contain nowhere near the alcohol level that they should. We paid £24 for two cocktails. Our glasses were filled to the top with crushed ice then they produced a premixed 1.5 litre bottle of long island iced tea and simply poured one measure over the crushed ice. So it was not only diluted with the crushed ice but also contained just one measure of what should have been a mixture of spirits...it just tasted of water from the crushed ice. So bad that I have made a formal complaint to trading standards.

Disgusting service from this business… ordered and failed to deliver. The staff showed no remorse or attempted to resolve. Will never use this unprofessional set up again

Superb Sunday lunch, lovely welcoming staff, with a great log burner & comfy chair beside it. The roasts were delicious & spoilt for choice with the pudding menu. Would highly recommend just such a shame it’s not exactly local for us but well with a visit again

An absolute gem. We popped in for an early evening meal and it did not disapoint. The food was amazing and the service was faultless. We would highly recommend. We can't wait to return again soon.

What a lovely little cafe! Really kind attentive staff, a whimsical themed seating area and great art around the place. The flowers are everywhere and add to the cosy feeling! Drinks are fab and so are the food and snacks on offer! Would recommend to all.

Gave our family group of 10 a wonderful warm welcome especially our little girl who was slipped some secret "extra poppadoms"! Thank you for a lovely meal.

Staff is lovely, kind and friendly Place is quite, there is music in the back ground to make the experience better and is not very busy allowing you to talk without a lot of noise Food is very tasty and well served. Portions are very well sized I recommend Prices are good as well

We came here for our wedding anniversary. It was our first time as the high prices have put us off, but as it was a special occasion, we thought we'd give it a try. Given the reviews and high prices, our expectations were high. Sadly those expectations were misplaced. The food was lovely and the service was friendly. But the service was slow. Our booking was for 8pm. We didn't get our main course until just before 10pm. They said it was because they were busy. If they cannot keep up with the number of tables they have on offer then they should operate as a smaller restaurant or get more staff. Otherwise everything was nice. I just cannot fathom how they can charge so much. For that price I expect to be wowed, not just nice. Rossinis is more reasonable, food just as good, service is quicker. We would only go back if they started charging more normal prices.
