It's always good food prepared freshly with a smile by the staff here. Decent Asian food and a reasonable price, well worth a visit, either for takeaway or to eat in.

Honestly kinda mid. Nice for casual, cheapish Japanese food, but not super amazing. Asked for a deluxe sushi platter or whatever it's called. The prawn nigiri was fantastic. The vegetable roll was also good. Panko prawn rolls delightful The rice in everything was good, very well dressed and balanced. The big letdown was the salmon. Very clearly farmed, as evidenced by the visible visceral fat they didn't quite manage to cut off. As sashimi, it was genuinely disgusting. Worst tasting salmon I've ever had. I couldn't bear it, and had to spit it out. Same real when in a roll. As a nigiri with some soy sauce, it was okay. But only just. I get that wild salmon is less sustainable and more expensive, but the low quality of the salmon was GLARING. Do not order it. You will need soy sauce just to be able to swallow it. I also ordered a regular pumpkin katsu curry, to take away. I was asked whether I want rice or noodles, and I answered noodles, but was given it with rice. The curry itself was still very nice, however, there was one big negative to the way it was done. The person serving me poured the curry OVER the pumpkin katsu, soaking the breadcrumbs and thus removing all semblance of crispiness. This might have been fine if I were eating in, but when you're ordering it as a takeaway, basic food logic would dictate that you keep the breaded component nice and dry. I would have much rather had the breaded pumpkin stored in a separately container, away from moisture, so that I could add it to the curry when I planned to eat it later. What's the point in having Panko if you're going to douse it, for it to soak through on its journey? I didn't correct any of this because I already felt like I was being an awkward customer with my various questions and requests to swap out the chicken (poultry allergy) in my deluxe box. The mochi was also a let down. Kinda gross tbh, but I ate it while I waited for the rest of my food out of politeness. Clearly tolerable, but just... Not very nice tbh. Overall I would say this place is mid. Hit and miss for sure. Some things are fantastic, like the rice, prawn and katsu curry. But the salmon, mochi and wrong order/construction of the curry were just disappointing. I wouldn't say to stay away from this place. There are nice things. You just have to know what's actually nice and what's "blegh." Would go back again for the stuff that was good, though.

We pre-booked because it was a birthday get together for my daughter. The owner could not have done more to make it special. Some treats on our table on arrival, balloons and a very warm welcome. We had a range of food and it was all excellent. But it was the service that made it such a good visit. Many thanks for making a birthday lunch special for my daughter. We will definitely be back.

Food is always fresh and delicious. Variation of different amazing flavours which brings me back every week. The staff are also super friendly.

Very good place to eat at. Quick easy and usually fresh. My only issue is the lack of ease to eat it as a takeout but that's only because the portion size is huge which could only be seen as a positive. I would suggest it's on the pricey side, however top tier value for money.

The tea tastes good, and the bubbles here are soft and a bit chewy.

The food was very good, especially for the price. The sweet chilli chicken and Katsu curry chicken with noodles was good. The service could have been better. We had to wait for over 15 minutes to get the food. It looked like they were understaffed. There is space to eat in but you'll have to find parking.

Got a brown sugar boba tea from here. As good as I’d expect. Even for a sugar fiend like me 50% sweetness was enough!

Today is our 2nd visit to this place with my husband..We got rose bubble tea and spicy mixed noodles.The food was mouthwatering and the staff served us very well.Hoping to visit again.

Absolutely perfect place for me to eat a nice cuisine with my young boy, Alex. Now he keeps asking to go again! The bubble tea was especially well made and had an amazing flavour. I will definitely come again!

Love, love, love this place, great food, great value and the service is always amazing, best sushi and hot bowl place for a quick bite in chelt.

The atmosphere was nice and queit but when I walked to cashier I could BARELY HEAR A THING. The man was so quiet it sounded like he was talking under his breath to me and I had to keep saying 'pardon'. When my drink got to me(boba tea with 'popping balls' and jelly) it looks very good on the outside but when I took a sip of my drink with the 'popping balls' i couldnt believe what i was tasting. The 'popping balls' where in fact chewy balls WHICH WAS NOT WHAT I ORDERED were horrendous. They looked and tasted like FROGSPAWN 🤢. They were SO slimy it made me feel sick and they were stuck together just like FROGSPAWN. the jelly was not good either, it tasted like rubber and were very hard to chew which I did not like. I threw the drink away as fast as I could.What was more sad, because I lost £6.00 of my hard earned money. If you ever go there NEVER BUY THE BOBA TEA!!

Food is good quality and good portion sizes but the staff seemed like they weren't doing anything and there was a queue of people who had ordered and were waiting for food! Slow service and not very efficient :/ Waited over 20 minutes for food and it wasn't even busy!

Good food, Simply Lovely ad the staff were really good and the best and quick service. Popped in today lunch and they’re quickly prepared the order even it was busy. Highly recommended for everyone!!

I recently visited Kokoro Cheltenham Restaurant with my family, and we were blown away by the exceptional service provided by the team, especially the manager. They were incredibly helpful and made our dining experience truly memorable. And don't even get me started on the food – absolutely delicious! Kokoro has become our go-to spot whenever we're craving a delightful meal out. Can't wait for our next visit!

Great food, just what I needed for tasty lunch. They don’t scrimp on the portions at all which is hard to come by these days. Very reasonably priced.

Sushi is fairly good but (as ever) it's mostly salmon, cucumber, avocado, not tuna or anything interesting, although it is better quality than supermarket sushi for sure. Bit shocked how pricey the hot food is - £7.50 a pop for simple noodle or rice dishes that have been sitting around like a school cafeteria - I expected they would all be sub £5 (would happily buy 2-3 items but not such a high price for a basic chow mein you could easily do at home). Staff need to welcome customers a bit more proactively.

Great portions, fantastic tasty food.

I really like the simplicity of this place. It's also quite reasonably priced and the food is genuinely delicious. The little desserts are also a nice touch. Great place for lunch alone or with friends and in a good location. I would highly recommend the Katsu Chicken with rice. The only thing I wouldn't get from there is coffee, although to be fair that's not exactly their speciality.

Tasty Japanese curry and good value for money. Saved us numerous times when we ran out of time to make home-cooked dinner. Can just pop in to the store for a takeaway and have your food ready in less than 10 minutes. The portions are large, leftovers from the dinner can easily make a next day lunch (though depends on the appetite of course). In-store dining is also quite decent, the place is very spacious with lots of seating space.

I came in here today…..and I saw a bunch of flies in the food….ermmmm I told the food assistant….who seemed unconcerned.

I have been coming here regularly since arriving in Cheltenham in December 2022. The food is good with plenty of vegetarian options, and the staff are always courteous and friendly. The restaurant is clean, well-lit and without loud music that seems a fixture in modern eateries and cafes.

Amazing value for money with a variety of hot food, cold foods and sides. Ordered a regular Pumpkin Katsu and Salmon selection. They were very generous with the pumpkin katsu (massive portion size), had to take it away to finish. Staff were happy and helpful. Came just after lunch time so wasn't too busy but lots of seating areas and not too crowded.

Great option to have in town centre. Nice hot food, generous portion size (regular is massive), decent prices. Recommend (very spicy) sweet chilli chicken. Not keen on spicy chicken curry which wasn't spicy. Ladies serving were smiley and patient. Service quite quick. Tables weren't the cleanest. And walls near the bench side have food on them. Some food on floor. I think eating areas should be cleaned after each customer. There is ramp access and the place doesn't feel cramped. General atmosphere pleasant and not loud saw small groups and lots of people eating individually too. would come back.

The food is lovely and very reasonably priced. The real stars are the employees who are so lovely every time I come in. They are a real asset 😊

I love this place, always amazing food instantly ready. The chili chicken is my favourite (spicy). They always fill the pots to the brim so you get a lot for your money. I visit kokoro very regularly.

Quality food and service with good value for money and eat in experience. The Manager from Sri Lanka is excellent, very friendly and helpful, the other staff also reflect the same attitude, a very enjoyable experience every time.

What a lovely quiet place for a snack. But I didn't get far into my food when I found a hair in my food. I felt repulsed by it and stopped eating. It was the non existent customer service. "Oh" didn't cut it for me. I won't ever return!

Lovely staff member who cooked delicious teriyaki salmon for me even though they’d run out of their pre-prepared ones. A large bowl was enormous!

Perfect Asian food, reasonable price, great atmosphere, and services. Try once and you will never go back to your local chippy shop. Two meals at Kokoro cost the same as only one at other chain restaurants in Cheltenham. Amazing food for less. I enjoyed it and highly recommend 😉👍 to try.

Had a good lunch of Teryaki chicken with rice, vig portion size but it was yummy. New favourite lunch place in Chelt. Good options on the menu. Clean environment.

Popped in for a quick, early, healthy lunch and had the tuna and salmon sushi which was excellent. Very fresh and great quality fish. We were also give some complimentary chicken gyoza which were delicious - a really nice touch!

10/10 food, would recommend the chicken katsu and sweet chilli chicken, or the pumpkin katsu for vegetarians. Great and bright atmosphere as well.

Great hot food. If you love spicy food this is the place to be. Sushi can be improved a bit but given the pricing it’s a gem. Better than many other leading sushi brands in town. Extremely friendly Asian staff lead by Pulasthi and Dushantha. Highly recommend and would visit again for sure.

The fried prawns delicious, especially for the formula take 3 and 1 is for free. I had too high expectation for the sushi, that I can judge 7/10, was good but not excellent. The service 10/10.

We thought we would try this new sushi restaurant on Deliveroo as it's quite new in Cheltenham and we love sushi. In comparison to the usual sushi places such as Yo Sushi, I would say Kokoro was better on a few levels. We had the Kokoro sushi platter, spicy pork with noodles, chicken katsu curry, gyoza and spring rolls. The sushi platter was as expected. Good, similar to Yo but a couple of extra things in there. The spicy pork was hot, I loved it. Wasn't able to finish it as it's big and want sure what to expect portion size. Same with the katsu curry, my girlfriend loved it but couldn't finish it. My girlfriend loves Yo's fried chicken gyoza, so it was going to be tough to beat. These steamed gyoza are cold! So I expected she wouldnt like them. She loved them! I tried them too and they are good. In terms of takeaway sushi in Cheltenham, it's a new favourite. Definitely worth trying Actually one negative, there was plastic in the packaging. Most companies these days use paper bags, most things are recyclable. But there was thick plastics bags, and unnecessary plastic packaging for some of the food. Would be good to change this.
