The best restaurants in England

I was so happy to find a Lebanese cuisine until i visited today but unfortunately the restaurant is far from a mediterranean kitchen and philosophy. What they call as Gyros is just thigh pieces fried. Chewy and tasteless. Side salad is just some lettuce and onion. Rice is from the cheapest brand. Can you believe you eat so call authentic food but no trace of olive oil!!! No way. Falafel is the same, slightly better. Hummus is okay but too little. Portions are small, taste is just above a standard take away but the prices are as if you eat in a good restaurant. + %service charge while you need to go to the bar and order there. They dont take orders at the table. There are so many things to say however in a Nutshell, a fake Lebanese. Some midrange decoration and instagram ads. PLEASE SPEND SOME MONEY FOR BETTER INGRIDIENTS. DONT FOOL PEOPLE JUST BECAUSE THEY cannot UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENCE.

Excellent food and service and very reasonable wine list prices for a restaurant. Pickle tray had some lovely sauces . Mixed Kebabs were great with Samosa, tandoori king prawn , sheekh kebab and chicken tikka with salad garnish. We tried the North Indian Garlic chilli chicken and the Goan Chicken Xucuti with a keema nan and mushroom rice. Both the main course had plenty of chilli heat which we liked.

We booked our Christmas dinner here this time. The whole family got together from both sides, mine and my partners. This was our first family Christmas in 5 years due to my working rotation I have been away for the last 4. We all agreed on going out for dinner and booked the whitecroft. We booked months in advance, paid the deposit for 10 people (although my son has medical issues and would not be eating they still charged him full rate £45 for some chips) and cleared the rest as soon as we walked through the door on Christmas Day. My father went to the bar to get a round of drinks in for us all and this is where we realised things might not be as expected, 30 minutes to get served, the people behind the bar did not know what they were doing, they were mixing orders and on one occasion only made a single drink. The order was the same each time but the prices were different each time. There was no til it was a calculator used for each round. We were taken to our table (we booked for 10) they had a table set out for us with only 8 places made up. The time was 2:45 when we sat down for our 3 o’clock meal. At 5:45 we had still not received our starters, our seating plan was 3-6 that day. No one had been to the table to explain what was happening, no one came to offer apologies or ask the table if we required any drinks. We enquired several times what was happening. The other tables around were explaining the same was happening to them. Other tables had arrived later and seated much later than our table yet they were already in their mains. The whole day was a shambles. At 6pm I went to the front desk and requested our money back including the deposit money. They didn’t say anything, just pulled out the cash we originally gave him and then went away and came back with the deposit money. No words no apologies nothing. As we were leaving they tried to say we were welcome back any time and I kindly let them know we would never be returning to the place ever again. They tried offering us a free meal but again I kindly turned them down. We could see other parties leaving and discussing with them outside they said it was not what they wanted or expected for Christmas Day and they would not be returning. Christmas was ruined and it will be another 3 years before I will be home again. My son and parents are the main people I feel sorry for as it was a special day for them.

We visited Boxing Day again, and everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The service, as usual, was excellent, and the food was so delicious. The prices are very reasonable. Great Atmosphere. If you have not tried it you will not be disappointed I would highly recommend it.

We have been to this restaurant quite a few times never fails to impress but last night we had a meal here and it was fabulous, warm restaurant great reception, drinks and food arrived promptly even though they were very busy, We will be back soon

4/1/25 , We have just had an excellent night of service and food . We were a party of 14 and the service was quick and efficient and good value . The two girls who looked after our tables Ashley and I think it was Lottie were great. sorry if I have a wrong name but you will know who you are. Thankyou and we shall be back.

This is a very nice friendly pub / restaurant / hotel. It can be, especially on Sunday, very busy. It does has a car park lot, right across the street. To park there, you need to get there very early. On average, we go there twice a month for Sunday lunch, which I feel is great value. I always have the pork, a choice from three; beef, chicken and pork. Its really tasty and cooked perfectly. The alternative I like is the pork belly, maple glazed. Lovely roast potatoes, gravy, Yorkshires and veg. The prawn and crab salad appetizer is very nice, but a little small. The service is always sharp, polished and friendly. Choice of booze is very good. My only "moan" is the serviettes are thin "paper". One wipe and its falling apart. I did talk to the restaurant manager about that and he commented that its all about "cost" of managing the laundry of linen. I get that; but do think on a Sunday, always rammed, it would be a nice addition. I also often also pop in for a beer with my adult daughter. Really nice place; right on my doorstep home.

Amazing milkshakes and the people were really nice

Our welcome was a little ‘Luke warm’ as the staff both looked at one another, as though reluctant to be the one to serve us! The young lady who took us up to our table with the menus was quite sullen and we found that quite disconcerting! We asked for clarity with the menu and the young man serving us was very polite and engaging. The meal was sublime and there are many descriptors that I could use, but I’ll stick with that one. The wine was perfectly chilled and very flattering. We were given the appropriate attention and neither felt rushed or neglected and whiled away almost 3 hours. We were very happy with the choice of restaurant for the evening and were really impressed with the Menu and the outcome of our selections. Thank you. We would definitely recommend your restaurant for its food and ambience and hospitality shown by the very attentive waiter.

Excellent Christmas lunch in a pleasant and comfortable environment! Large portions of delicious food across the 4 different meals we ordered. Steak and kidney suet pudding has large, melt in your mouth, meat and exceptional flavour! First rate Otter Ale on hand pump. No wonder we keep coming back.

Great sausages with gluten free options, though only two and I wished there were more. Very nice bangers and mash with smooth mash, tasty onion gravy and excellent sausages. Outside seating was ok but a bit nippy in late December despite the heater

Fortunately we live close to this fabulous restaurant and have many a family celebration here and also take away. Consistent good service, food quality whether dine in or out. Wouldn't go anywhere else locally

Really good portion sizes and really nice attentive staff. Food was nice and tasty. The chairs are slightly uncomfy but our meal was really nice and made up for it, and I would go back!
