Great authentic Indian food and friendly, and good service. We liked it very much. Even our dog was also aloud in! Pay by card is also possible

Every time we visit cinderford we always get a takeaway from here. The food is very good. Well cooked and a good variety. It was ready at the specified time. Unfortunately the prices have increased massively since our last visit. A basic takeaway meal for 2 ( and it was just enough for two with nothing left over) worked out at just under £50 where as last year it was well under £40 for exactly the same order- an increase of 25% which seemed a little excessive to me. They only take CASH here which I think is unacceptable in today's increasingly cashless society. Luckily I just had enough on me as the nearest cash point is a fair distance away. I may stick to the local Chinese takeaways next time as they are definitely better value for money IMO.

Not the most appealing of places inside but sure makes up with it with the food.Can take you're own alcohol and can use there glasses.Really friendly staff can have a good conversation.Highly recommend

Wow, gone downhill so far. Waited 45 minutes for a main course in an almost empty restaurant. Food was tasty but very cool. Toilets need some TLC and came to pay and they insist on cash on Tues/we'd so they can do shopping ! Won't be going again.

First time trying this place after a recommendation. Went out for dinner and ordered chicken tikka biryani, peshwari naan, balti, chicken chaat and puri for starter. The flavours was amazing and portion size’s just right. Definitely will be going back and recommend this place.

We came her for a meal as we were visiting/staying in the areA We had starters of mixed tandoori platter, samosa and chicken chat really fresh an tasty. We then ordered chicken biriani with a lovely peshwari naan, lamb gobi, chicken Parthia and Chicken Rezela all were absolutely delicious with garlic and keema naan

Went with my girlfriend and my parents while we were staying in Cinderford. Very nice food, nicely cooked. I had the Balti which had plenty of succulent meat, with chunky veg and a really tasty thick sauce and the portion size was just right. Ive had a lot of curries in my time and this was up there. Service was also very good, the guy who served us was very friendly and accommodating when my girlfriend ordered off menu. We all said how nice our meals were as was evident from our empty plates.

Went to have a sit in meal but discovered the restaurant doesn’t have an alcohol licence, you have to take your own drinks if you want a beer or wine with your meal. Not a huge problem if we had known in advance however we decided to get a carry out and eat back at the holiday cottage. Ordered a chicken tikka masala and a chicken garak masala with pilau rice. Both were very good and we would use the curry leaf again if in the area.

Quite a large takeaway order for extended family on a Saturday night. Food was ready on time. The only minor criticism is that I have had fluffier garlic nan bread from other establishments but the rest of the food was tasty and delicious so I have kept the 5 star review and look forward to another meal in the future.

Travel 10 miles to pick up this Indian takeaway, dispite having local Indian restaurants .The curry leaf is always consistent in quality and flavour.Both the chicken and lamb tender and a good portion of meat ..not mostly sauce like some restaurants . My partner enjoys hotter currys and myself medium. The jalpuri a nice change to a madras .I enjoy trying different dishes each time as they vary in flavour...some Indian takeaways can all taste basically the same except for the heat . Not these guys ...very friendly staff nothing is to much trouble. They will make a dish to how hot or mild you like it . Usually phone my order through always ready when they say it will be ..never had to wait always piping hot when I get home . Yum 😋

Just had an absolutely excellent takeaway from this takeaway. Top quality cooking. Had a lovely tandoori mixed grill and lamb vindaloo. Nice choice of sides plus a scorching garlic and chilli nan. Thoroughly recommended. Good value too.

We arrived for a short break on a bank holiday and it was getting late, thankfully we found curry leaf and a quick call later we went to collect our food. The customer service was good, very nice looking dinning area. We collected our food to go and it was delicious and very well marked out. Very enjoyable! Thank you!

The Curry Leaf is our go to Indian Restaurant in the Forest of Dean. The food is always, and I mean Always, amazing. Well cooked, vibrant and very tasty indeed. The staff are fab and very attentive. The choice is huge and I am slowly making my way through all of the different dishes available from the South Indian Specialties to the Chefs Specials. The Dhansak (one of my favorites) to the South Indian Garlic Chili Chicken are always spot on.

Bring your own beer, no corkage charge. Cafe style, cant fault the service. Little grubby in places but all food was fresh and hot. Will go again.

We had a takeaway and despite them being Very busy and taking a bit longer to get vs time given we got all that we had ordered and hit/freshly cooked. Everything was first class and all four of us had completely different dishes. Strongly recommend

We have been to this restaurant a couple of times and each time was amazing. The menu is vast with lots to offer all tastes. We eat a LOT of curries so this was great for us and they didn’t disappoint anywhere. Our starters were delicious as were the mains and attention to freshness and quality was evident throughout. Lovely staff too and the whole place is spotless with good Covid measures. Very reasonable price wish also.

Once again, we have come here, been wekcomed and well fed. We brought a friend from the east coast who had never been here. She thoroughly enjoyed the food and the friendliness of the owners.They are able to cook off menu which is lovely as having been to India we have some knowledge of how it naturally tastes, and not what they believe the Beits should want.keep up the good work and we will see you again very soon.

The Curry Leaf is a great restaurant. The food is really good, and the service is great too. The really good thing is that you take your own alcohol, or, non-alcoholic drinks, or, you can buy non-alcoholic in the restaurant. I really like this aspect of the restaurant and the great food.

Drive 30 mins to collect. When got home, lots of disappointed family members didn’t get their dishes. When I called to complain was told to drive back for refund as couldn’t process over phone - crazy! They wouldn’t send cheque in post either. Food was ok but service shocking.

Been going here for a few years but they are definitely not as good as they used to be. I don’t really post reviews but I thought I would this time as not only was the order grossly wrong but the quality was suspect.I wish them well but suspect it’s time for a refresh. Indian food has recently moved on and this place should as well.

Nice meal taken here on a Friday evening. Staff excellent. Varied choice on menu. We had a set menu for 4 which was plentiful, and very nice. Definitely will go again.

Regular visitor to Curry Leaf as always excellent meal on Tuesday and Wednesday there is a meal offer starter, main, rice or nan for £10.95.Have used this and general menu always tasty food. Would recommended if you are in the area. You can bring your own alcohol if you wish.

First of all, bring your own alcohol. We visited on a Saturday night and had an excellent meal. First time here and we'll be back. It didn't seem too busy when we got there at 7pm. That soon changed!! Filled up constantly. I liked the fact it also had South Indian dishes so I had the Narikel Chicken, a fairly hot and very tasty Goan dish. My wife had a chicken tikka starter and saag aloo as a main and we had a nan and mushroom rice to complement it, also starting with a couple of popadoms. We both agreed the chicken was beautifully soft and overall a very tasty meal. All in all well worth it.

I am one of those British people who like Indian food but can't take spicy food. Maybe I am a cultural philistine and/or a wimp, but that's me. So I went into Curry Leaf and said, "please can you help me? I would like a dish with lentils and vegetables, which is not at all spicy, really not spicy". "Of course, we can do that". I get the food home and it is literally so hot, I take one bite and just cannot eat any more, so rather than fling my meal in the bin, I angrily got back in my car and drove back to the restaurant. I said, trying to be polite, "I'm really sorry, but I asked for lentil and vegetable dish that was very mild but what you gave me was so spicy, I couldn't eat it and my toddler cried in pain" (both true). He apologised and said he'd make me the same dish again but milder. I again, stupidly, trustingly, drove home, but this time I got vegetables (no lentils) in a creamy-slightly-less-spicy-but-still-too-spicy-for-me!!I don't like restaurants not listening to me. I don't want my mouth on fire and my nose running!!!

We had a takeaway meal from here on one day of our holiday in Newnham when their 'Gourmet Evening' offer was running. This gave us two starters, two mains, a rice and a naan for under £22. Food was very nice - the South Indian section in the menu made it more interesting than the usual Indian takeaway. Food was ready on time.

Went due to reviews on TA and really enjoyed the meal, quality of food was excellent. Really recommend a visit and we will return when in the area. Be aware it is a BYO restaurant but a few shops are local that can help if you want alcohol. Thanks for a great meal!

There were 14 of us on Thursday evening. We all had good food and a happy time because the atmosphere was good. It's excellent value for money as you can take your own alcohol so only pay for soft/hot drinks and the tasty food. It has a friendly atmosphere, with the owners always smiling and happy to make everyone comfortable and have a good time.

The staff are the friendliest! Even when not eating here and I'm just walking up into the local town they will always smile and wave, food is lovely and not overpriced and such a warm atmosphere

Tried out the Curry Leaf very much by chance and found a really great selection of vegetarian options, which were fabulous. Excellent value for money too. Can very much recommend.

My wife and I, sister in law whose birthday it was and three nephews went to the Curry Leaf for dinner on Tuesday evening. The meal was excellent and the portions ample, service was very prompt and attentive. The restaurant is not licenced but sells soft drinks including lassi but you can bring your own alcohol. Cards are not accepted, cash only payment but there is a cash machine within a couple of minutes walk

We have eaten at the Curry Leaf twice now and had a very good meal on both occasions. The dishes are very flavoursome and generous without being in any way oily. The vegetables in the bhajis are fresh not frozen and the breads nice and light. The service here is second to none and it is also excellent value! The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful and always smiling. The Curry Leaf is about 8 miles from where we live but we would certainly choose to travel and eat here rather than our local Indian restaurant.

Just moved to Cinderford and our first visit to the Curry Leaf. Very extensive selection and great value on a Tuesday as it's gourmet night. You take your own alcohol which is where most restaurants make their money. Food was tasty and hot. Service was friendly with a smile. We will definitely be back.

There is a great atmosphere at the Curry Leaf mainly because the owners are so friendly and welcoming, but also the tables aren't too close to each other so you can relax and enjoy meeting up with friends.

Well what can I say, went last night for my granddaughter birthday haven’t been there for a while, but was made most welcome. six of us all had great meals, the best we have had anywhere for a long time. We will be back.

Very attentive service explained ingredients as friend lactose intolerant. Food delicious nice and quick service. Very smart restaurant. Parking available in street. Could have been a little warmer but did warm up when more people came to dine. Loos could be tidied up

Three of us on a weekend break from Wales were in the area and settled on The Curry Leaf for our Saturday night treat after reading the reviews. And we were so glad we did. On a busy bank holiday weekend we received charming and friendly service in contemporary surroundings . I asked for some advice on a chicken curry and the recommendation was delicious , I could not fault it in any way .One of our party was vegetarian and ordered a vegetable and mushroom pasanda, never have I witnessed her finish a whole curry before , but it was so delicious she emptied the dish ! Prices were fair and competitive, and even with two courses, extras, and drinks it came to under £25 a head which was excellent value for money . We had a lovely relaxing night, with excellent food and staff with a genuine aim to please.I have recommended to friends who regularly visit the area, and it will be the first place we head for next time we are in the locality.

Of all the curry houses we've been to Curry Leaf has always been the best. We've been going now for 11 years, that must mean something!

I visit the Curry Leaf every few months with a friend.

We had a lovely meal here during a visit to nearby Littledean. We found the walk up 'The Ruffitt' a challenge, however well worth it to have such lovely well presented food served by such lovely people. At the end of the meal the waiter even offered us a lift back to Littledean which was a lovely gesture. Definitely recommend for a very good curry and an affordable cost.

Recently visited for a big birthday bash and staff was really helpful from the start! Always asking about drink refills and whether the food was good! It surely lived up to our expectations! Food was outstanding, my advice, order their chicken bhuna! Absolutely fantastic with great flavours! Couldn’t fault the evening or service! Well done!.

Great food, either eat in or takeaway, the choice is yours. The menu is very comprehensive and I have tried a number of different meals, each of them has been very tasty, the extras that go with every Indian meal are also excellent. The food here is as good as any meal I have had whilst working in India. Cinderford is very lucky to have this restaurant in its midst. The staff are always very helpful and the service great. Highly recommend it.......as an aside, my wife ordered a takeaway for collection last year, when I went to collect it they had no record of the order, when I said that my wife had ordered it online the manager explained that they did not have an online service, turned out my wife had ordered from ‘The Curry Leaf’ in Hove 150+ miles away!!!!

Lots of choice on the menu, helpful and friendly staff. Delicous starters and main courses, with generous portions. Good value food and drinks. Decor is a bit plain and tired - it is what it is. Good atmosphere.

Dropped in and ordered takeout whilst we waited. Had drinks at the bar and good conversation with the host. Excellent variety on the menu and many more things to try including some South Indian specials. We had 5 dishes, Peshawari naan, sheema kebab and pappadums. Chicken jalfrezi had pleasant spice. Chicken passanda was mild, coconut goodness.

Beautifully cooked and presented meals. Very attentive but not intrusive service. The food tastes freshly cooked, and the staff very hard working to make the experience enjoyable. Good value.

The food here is amazing and never faults! They accompany for a very wide range of spice preferances and have lovely, friendly staff. I have been going to this restraunt frequently since it first opened about 10 years ago. Can't fault in any way.

Since we last came to this restaurant, they have got a licence so we ordered some beer to have with our supper which was good value.

We discovered this lovely restaurant after a trip to the nearby cinema (Cinderford Palace). We were so impressed by the friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness of the restaurant and the gorgeous food from their extensive menu that we decided to go back the next day for our Christmas Lunch! We will definitely be visiting The Curry Leaf on a regular basis from now on.

We regularly visit here simply because the food is wonderful plenty of it and prices are so reasonable the two men who run it are so friendly the restaurant is clean and large so plenty of space for large groups

We walked in on last Friday and were found a suitable table. We ordered a couple of dishes to share and were under no pressure to over order. The food was excellent and the friendly staff were most attentive - Thank you. We will return when in or near to Cinderford.

Visited on a saturday night, food was lovely, right anount of spices and large portions food was piping hot, only thing to let it down was the service, restaurant was busy and ony 2 people serving, ordered drinks with our food and it took ages for them to be served.

We went to the Curry Leaf last night as a group of 9. They looked after us very well and the food was great. We were not rushed through like we have been at other restaurants. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

We had just visited the Palace cinema in Cinderford. It was a Sunday evening and most places were closed so the Curry Leaf was our last option for a restaurant meal. We'll didn't we do well! The staff were attentive but not over bearing. The Manager was very friendly and had a great sense of humour. And the food was exceptionally good. We had chicken munghi and chicken napalese. I apologise if I've got the spellings wrong. The first is mild and coconut flavoured but better than a passanda. The second was medium strength but still very tasty. Also very well priced. Pommadoms x 4, main meals x 2 and two alcoholic drinks for £32. Excellent. Thank you.
