Rose Cafe & Greek Cuisine in Swale

Needed to be fed and rang on the off chance that they could feed us fairly late in evening. No problem, told to pop round ASAP. Friendly welcome on arrival. Excellent meal with 1/2 litre of wine in jug. Just about right. Sad news , they are closing in the new year and staff going back to the "Greek" in Maidstone. We are not islanders and only two places would dare the eat on the island, here and a little micro pub in Queenbourgh. :) Crying shame but classic case of use it lose it.

Had a work Xmas get together here. Food was excellent. Service brilliant.

Absolutely Delicious food and the service was prompt, the only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was because the waitress was a miserable soul 😞 and that fact does have an impact on your evening sadly

Fifth or sixth time and every time it’s fabulous . Lovely lovely food, attentive waitress. Music not loud so can enjoy conversations . Not rushed . Exceptional food. No modern hype with waiters hanging over you pushing drink .. it’s perfect !!! Not used enough !

Lovely and friendly table staff, however the manager was rude telling us we can order but you will have to wait.... they have a delivery and a party. Not our problem and the party consisted of 10? 45 min later food came... it was ok. Lamb kofta was not home made and just burger meat on a stick. The chicken was lovely. Again thanks to the table staff they were professional and lovely.

3rd time I've been and the food was excellent once again

Really didn't know what to expect, but food was amazing. I very rarely get beaten by portion size , but this did me ! Salad was really nice and fresh we all had different meals and every one was great

Great Greek Restaurant. A bit hidden away next to a car repair shop but lucky enough google maps guide us. We had one of the best meals and service of our whole holidays in the UK. We would tip this place to anybody else.

Excellent food and service but lost one star for inconsistent opening hours. Visited Saturday afternoon about 1pm and the restaurant had just opened. We were the only customers. We enjoyed our meal and so the following Saturday Invited friends down from London to have lunch around 2pm. On arriving the restaurant was closed. Checked website which said it was open. Above the restaurant is a sign saying open from 11am. Window was ajar and person inside said restaurant would open at 4pm so our party of seven went elsewhere. They should open and close as advertised and not mess customers about with inconsistent opening times.

Went for the first time tonight. The food was amazing, the staff lovely and the atmosphere very nice too. It's like walking into a TARDIS. It looks so small from the outside but once inside it quite big and you feel almost like you are on a hot sunny holiday.

Warm welcome and fast service We had starter and main course, it was perfectly spicy, the taste and cooking very good. Thank you for this treat.

What can i say.. I wasn't sure about this place as i have not had much luck finding good places to eat on Sheppey. This place is absolutely fantastic,the staff were great especially the manager who was our waitress she couldn't do enough for us The food choices were great and so were the cocktails The portions were very generous and the food was superb, in fact by the time i left i had eaten so much i could hardly walk If you like Greek food then this is the place to come. I highly recommend the Rose Cafe and i cant wait to return Thankyou for a great night

Had a fantastic meal here last night, four of us, Thursday evening. Honestly it was really, really good 😁 The menu choice is very good and the food itself? I'd go back anytime, lovely! And authentically Greek, the chef really knows good greek food 😀 I had the lamb chops - mmmmm! Sooo good! All of my friend were happy with their meals - make sure you leave room before you go because you'll be happy with the portions too 😀 The drinks are a bit more than pub prices but still ok and you won't have come here for the drinks, still there's a good choice and hey, you're treating yourself! 😀 If you can, try the Greek tea, comes out very hot (careful!) but stir in a couple of sugars, and stir and blow for a while, and it's lovely! The waitress is great and nice and friendly, and lovely with children - the table nearby had a young boy, about 5 I'd say, who had an accident with his drink but the way she dealt with it was great and he ended going home later happily chattering away with 3 lollipops and a smile 😀 We left her a nice tip, she helped make it such a nice evening. Go on, treat yourself and go there, you won't be disappointed, promise! 😀 (I would have taken pictures but my friends don't like that, next time! 😀)

Food is amazing and always fills me up, the portions are perfect and not to mention it looks as amazing as it tastes, very beautiful. Staff are very friendly and fun to chat with and the music playing as you eat is nice.

me and my colleages went there for christmas staff very rude and the manager rude also they listen in to your conversation all because we did not like a bottle of wine they did not like it said we were rude to them i would not recommend it to any body i would never go there again and the food not nice neither no star ratings for me they also need to get some peoples skills very disappointed

This pains me to say it but I thought I would give the cafe a second chance but was let down by the food, yet again! I ordered shelled king prawns in cream sauce with rice and spinach but received standard size prawn tails. The spinach was saturated with lemon and so the dish was left uneaten. I wasn’t going to write this review but felt it was justified after the chef? Came out, shouted something? & gave me an evil look when I stated my concerns to the waitress (who was lovely). The chips are good and I also tried the chicken pasta which also tasted nice. My advice is do not as advertise king prawns only to serve standard prawn tails and charge the same amount… or at least tell the customer that you do not have king prawns (there is a big difference in taste, texture and price!)

2nd visit in the 5 days we have stayed on Sheppey. Excellent Authentic Greek Restaurant. Menu is varied and they have various Greek dishes. We chose courgette balls, feta in filo pastry, mixed souvlaki and beef stifado. All presented well and very tasty. Lovely staff, cozy surroundings, at small piece of Greece in Sheppey. Highly recommended.

Firstly, let me say that I am Greek, was raised in a greek family, have been raised eating greek food and am a reasonable cook when it comes to greek food as well as having been to numerous greek Islands and have often eaten in greek restaurants. I am fairly new to Sheerness and I have been working my way through everything here in Sheerness. Having read the reviews here, I thought I would give Rose Greek cafe a try in spite of it looking like an add on to a commercial petrol station forecourt so I booked a table for myself and my daughter. The staff were welcoming, the place is decorated in greek style and they played greek music so our expectations were high in terms of the food. Let me say upfront - what I love about greek food is that it is generally subtle in terms of both seasoning and taste so, sadly, for me, the only thing I could eat was the side salad due to everything else being so over spiced - it was more like a cross between mexican, indian and middle eastern than greek. My daughter was fine with it as she has a taste for strongly spiced food but my expectation was for greek food. So, if you are OK with strongly spiced food in a greek atmosphere then you will enjoy it but if you are looking for something akin to traditional greek cuisine then you, like me will be dissapointed - not by the staff or atmosphere but by the taste of the food

Eaten here a few times now, food and atmosphere is truly authentic greek, great value tasty food with generous size portions and consistent in quality. Unusual location in terms of former use but don't let that dissuade you from visiting this hidden gem. Yamas!

Quick service and no problem when asking to change rice to Greek potatoes. One of the friendliest services I’ve ever had. Food was an amazing portion (if you have a smaller appetite I’d recommend splitting one dish if you’re with your partner) but one was very filling for me. Will 100% be a regular

Heard so many great things about the food and service and bang on!Started with a bottle of Chianti while we decided on food.Sadly no mussels as the fishery hadn’t brought them, hey ho, the feta, and the calamari, and grilled haloumi more than made up!We both had lamb kleftiko, and wow that was good!!And Baclava for 5 to take away for everyone that we didn’t take!LolDefinitely worth the visit, the staff were lovely.And all well set out for health and safety with sanitizer as we entered and scan sheets so we could register we’d been.A one way system round the restaurant for social distancing.Everything just how it should be.Reasonably priced for what we had and the service!If you’ve not been yet put it right and get in there!

Highly recommended, food and service fantastic

This was our first visit to the Rose Cafe in the evening, we had been for lunch which was excellent but nothing prepared us for such a fabulous evening. We were welcomed by the manager who directed us towards the hand sanitiser and then to our table. We ordered our drinks whilst we went through the menu, the choices were amazing from seafood, calamari, humous and cold meze for starters, steaks, lamb and a terrific selection of Greek dishes for our main courses. We ordered a mix of starters so we could share, I can highly recommend the 3 baked Greek cheeses. I had the hot meze for my main course with Greek potatoes as a side and it was glorious, another main we had on our table was the lamb chops, 6 chops were served with vegetables and were absolutely delicious. Our waitress Yota was brilliant. If you are in and she’s working ask her to show you the bird trick! All in all a fantastic evening and I say without reservation we will be returning.

We went to the Rose Cafe and Greek Cuisine restaurant in Sheerness on Sunday. The food and service were excellent. The portions are large. You can sit outside under the covered way, or inside the restaurant. We will go again and again.

Lovely little place, looks a bit bleak from the outside, but once you are inside its decorated out lovely and there is also now a covered outside seating area.Food was lovely, we ordered two main dishes up and shared along with a small carafe of house wine - very good value only £23.Decorated in a lovely greek theme with greek background music for atmosphere.Greek menu is available at lunchtimes, although a lot more limited than the evening greek menu.Would have been nice if the plates were warmed through, to keep the food a llittle warmer for longer, as you dont really want to rush eating your food.Would definately visit again and in the evening to sample the more extensive greek menu.

Wow!A Greek restaurant set in a car wash - very quirky and what a gem for Sheppey!The food was absolutely delicious. Twelve of us went and not a single complaint about the food.Traditional Greek cuisine, ample portions and very tasty. The pittas are devine! I find Mediterranean food quite uninspiring however this was so tasty.We all had starters, mains and desserts with drinks. Starters and desserts are big portions so sharing is a good idea, as we did! Waitress very friendly too. Will be returning.

Came in here for dinner with my husband one Friday night after work. We were very impressed and had a great time. Lovely relaxed atmosphere, friendly service and great wine! We travel to Greece a lot and this food matched what we have over there. The smells and service is like being back in Greece. The house red Greek wine was great and we left a little squiffy to be fair! Can’t wait to go back!!
