Tipi Tapa Marlborough in Wiltshire

We really liked this hidden gem. The food was excellent and there was a lot of choice. The wine was excellent. The lady that served us was endearing and helpful. The toilets were cold and not up to standard. I would have liked them to be recently decorated.

Fantastic food and great service. Been here a few times and never disappoints. Highly recommend the Pin Pin prawns and Patatas Bravas. In the summer they offer a great selection of meats cooked on the grill outside on the ‘Terraza’. Will be back!

Visit with family for my Birthday. Excellent from start to finish. Chefs are excellent. Menu is outstanding. Will visit again for sure. I’ll ask to sit upstairs though. As me and family of 6 were seated by the door.

For someone who never eats tapas might be alright. Omelette was cold inside, looks like was ready before and just warm up in the microwave or oven. Omelette should be prepared fresh. No croquetas in tapas restaurant, should be essential. Cake called torte is just a small slice of cake

A very pleasant find, tucked down a tiny side street in Marlborough. The tapas was fresh and very tasty, the atmosphere was cosy and chilled, and the staff were really attentive... excellent!

A very cute tapas place, with a sense of intimacy downstairs and large space upstairs for bigger gatherings. Food was cooked to order so like any good tapas place, the dishes come out when they are ready rather than all at the same time. The aubergine crisps are highly recommended, crispy and delicious. Pil pil prawns were also very good, as well as was the potato bratas. Would definitely recommend and revisit.

We booked a table for 7 people at 6.30pm for my birthday (no little surprise offered) on a Saturday. Staff were friendly but didn't tell us there were any specials for the tapas or desert. Luckily, I eventually asked. I was surprised croquettes were not on the menu as standard as they are such a staple in Spanish tapas restaurants. We enjoyed most of the food, the standouts being the deliciously crunchy and creamy ham croquettes, gambas and the patatas bravas. A lot of the dishes were served with the sale sauce - aoli. Whilst not a problem for us, as we all loved it, might be a problem for those who don't like mayonnaise. However, the most disappointing part of the evening was that by 8pm they had run out of the croquettes, Manchego and padron peppers. Service was quite slow, maybe because we were upstairs or because it was busy, but there never seemed to be anyone up there when we needed to order. Atmosphere upstairs was quieter than downstairs which suited us just fine. I would go back, but I would ensure I booked for 6pm and would grossly over order on the croquettes (if they are the special) as soon as I arrive!

Very good food with many different flavours. Lovely staff and atmosphere.

We had a lovely time here, food was great and service lovely. I also loved how you could see into the kitchen from the downstairs seating area and staff were all very friendly. Especially recommend the chorizo and the beef and pork meatballs. I think it would have been nice to have a bit louder background music but was also nice to not have to shout when talking.

Reading some of the reviews I can only hope we went on an off day. Sat outside - great, service good, food mediocre, expensive for what it was. Salad brown, lamb chewy, bread - hard, olives OK! Wouldnt go again and wouldnt recommend to a friend.

Had a lovely birthday meal with wife at the fabulous La Terraza. Amazing tapas dishes the jambon iberico is divine. Well looked after. Highly recommended and Will be back to try the other tasty dishes.

Dined on 29th March. David and his crack Anglo Spanish brigade, serve the best tapas outside Spain, I’ve ever eaten. A visit is a must.

I recently visited this restaurant with my family – my wife and two sons. We sat on the ground floor, and it had a cosy atmosphere. The overall food experience was great, but the tortilla was disappointingly dry. I wouldn't recommend it. The small squid (chipirones) didn't quite match the ones you'd find in Spain. Unfortunately, there were no suitable desserts for toddlers, but the staff kindly prepared some orange cuts and warm milk for my youngest. The absence of a Spanish cultural ambiance was noticeable, detracting from the overall culinary experience. Despite these points, I would still recommend it. The place seemed quite popular among the locals, which speaks volumes about its appeal.

Amazing ambiance, really authentic family style tapas. We loved it, we had such a nice lunch and they made such an effort accommodate us at late notice, even though they were very busy. 100% recommend, this is my fourth visit and every time it is amazing 😻

Fantastic place, I've walked past this place so many times and thought I must try it sometime. Finally I have, my biggest regret is I've left it so long and should have been sooner. Delicious, perfectly cooked food. The staff are really great and know their product well. The only positive downside, which your head upstairs, the wonderful original architecture includes low beams.

Amazing mid week lunch, 4 tapas dishes , 2 small wines, pint of beer and dessert for just over £50. Both wife and I were very impressed and we will be back.

This has been my go-to spot since they came into Marlborough. Food is outstanding and the staff is brilliant. They always have superb specials that aren’t to be missed. The rock salmon, ham croquettes and the crispy chicken wings from the regular menu are a must have!

We had an incredible team meal last night! 11 diners so we went for a set price and the food just kept on coming! The Gambas Pil-Pil and the Lobster Pil-Pil special were amazing, just like you would get in a Spanish chiringuito. Our vegetarians were well catered for and the Berenjenas and Croquettes were out of this world. Would highly recommend Tipi-Tapa if you’re looking for an authentic Spanish taste! We’ll definitely be back again!

Walked in on spec. Luckily, I got a table. Good looking Tapas menu and we ordered two items each which was perfect. Tipi Tapas potatoes were brilliant particularly with the saffron mayo. Calamares Fritos were outstanding and both Gambas Rebozadas and Croquettas were delicious. Prompt and friendly service made fir a very enjoyable lunchtime.

Food was absolutely incredible, service really let it down, however. Came for dinner, drinks came quickly. We'd ordered olives to go with the drinks, but these didn't appear until our first dishes had been served. From ordering to first dishes arriving took about 45 minutes. It wasn't overly busy. Will definitely come back to try again as the quality of the food was outstanding.

One of the most memorable meals I’ve had of my 41 years on this planet. The patatas tipi tapa are not to be missed. It was an honour and privilege to eat them, no exaggeration. The rest of the food was similarly delicious, the service was excellent and the location was wonderful. Cannot recommend highly enough.

We just went to Marlborough to have lunch and stumbled across this wonderful place before we actually got onto the High Street. Very accommodating chef, friendly attentive waiting staff and our vegetarian paella was delicious. The dining terrace is built around a tree, which really appealed to me; siitting shaded by it's branches gave it something special. Honestly eating paella, drinking sangria on a warm summer's day was magical. I'd love to return one evening sit on the terrace when the fairy lights are on. I highly recommend.

Overpriced and lacklustre. We went with friends on a Tuesday evening (so maybe they have better staff at weekends) and it was not busy at all, maybe 4 other tables. However, this still seemed a struggle for the wait staff who, whilst friendly, seemed out of their depth. We ordered olives and nuts for the table whilst waiting for the main courses but these didn't arrive until after all the food was delivered and then the waiters never came back for us to order drinks. At one point, a waiter dropped a sauce pot that he was collecting from a neighbouring table. Nothing wrong with that, accidents happen, but he failed to mention that a load of it had splattered up my wife's back and hair and it wasn't until she turned around some time later that we noticed. The main course arrived quickly but none of the plates we ordered were particularly great, mostly being either overcooked or soggy. We had a bowl of mushrooms which tasted as though they'd just been dropped out of a can. I ordered a coffee which arrived stone cold and didn't taste as though it had any coffee in it at all! The venue itself is nice, with a friendly atmosphere and felt comfortable but this is all it has going for it. We ended up paying £50 a head and I wouldn't recommend it at half the price. Very disappointed.

We stumbled upon this hidden gem in Marlborough. Very authentic tapas. Right off the town centre and 2 minutes from a walk along the river. Good parking access. Have an afternoon out in Marlborough and enjoy some tasty treats here. Reasonably priced and good portions. I was surprised at how much calamari came on the plate. We will be returning.

We’ve been a few times and the food is always amazing - really authentic and delicious, the specials are always fantastic too. The service is fab too, and drinking sangria on the terrace today made us feel like we were on the Spanish coast. Already looking forward to our next trip!

We ate here at lunch time 09/06/23 We had Pre ordered the meat Paella. It was amazing. The service was great and the 2 waitresses couldn’t be more helpful. We will definitely be going back , Great food, excellent service and a relaxed atmosphere.

We had a lovely time here - we just had hot chocolate and peppermint tea but it was nice. The place is bright cheery and comfortable... I am pretty sure the food is superb because it is run by the same people who run the honey street cafe which is superb. Do go here for lovely Spanish food if you happen to be in the area.

Loved the food and cocktails, wish we loved closer. Croquettes were lovely and saffron aioli, best we've had.

We came here for a late lunch on 31st March. The standard of Spanish style food and service in this restaurant is exceptionally high. The flavours of all our food was amazing and ate probably the best Crema Catalana I have ever tasted! The chef Caesar clearly loves his work and is probably one of the best chefs in the UK in my opinion. The standard of service was very high and all staff were attentive, knowledgeable and keen to make sure we enjoyed our experience. The only thing that made us sad was our empty plates as we could’ve easily have eaten every dish again. We will be back-thank you😍

Finally went to Tipi Tapas yesterday and had a fantastic lunch. Food was all delicious and very reasonable considering how much we ordered and had a few drinks too. Service was great and they sorted out the GF requirements for one of our group with no issues at all. Highly recommended and I'll be going back soon 😁

What a fabulous find, nestled down a cute side street, this tapas restaurant fulfilled our every need. The staff were friendly and the knowledgeable owner was on hand to advise us on the menu. There's also a lovely selection of Spanish wines to try out. If you're in Marlborough, you need to go to Tipi Tapa!

Great restaurant. Service was quick and friendly. Food was excellent and came out at a nice pace. Recommend the pork skewers and the pil pil gambas (my highlights) but everything about the evening was superb. Paella next =D

We went with 2 dogs on a busy Saturday and all the downstairs (dog friendly) tables were occupied but the staff were very accommodating and asked a friendly family who'd just got seated whether they would mind going upstairs for us, which they then did. The staff could have been nicer, the atmosphere was very welcoming and the food was delicious. Lovely!

I recently booked a table for my daughters 18th Birthday surprise. It was amazing to see her surprised and shocked face when she saw all her friends sitting at a table as she walked in. The staff went over and above making sure the birthday girl was looked after. They all shared the Paella dish and said it was amazing food. They loved the atmosphere and whole experience. Thank you for making her 18th so special. We recommend this restaurant highly for the good food, great atmosphere and lovely staff.

Excellent service great food nice atmosphere

Was looking forward to eating here as read the reviews and mostly looked good. I love small plates to taste and share. Reasons for the one star: - No tapas paella of the week - No cider and minimal drink options - Politely asked the waiter to bring all the food at the same time - food came in drips and drabs. - Ordered the pork skewer and came as the last meal after all food came; there was no chimichurri sauce and the pork was very dry - Waiter dropped the cutlery on my aunts jeans and she now has oil stains - Meal itself was very average. Probably not worth a return and they are slightly on the expensive side, very unfortunate.

Lovely addition to Marlborough's eataries!

Tipi Tapa is a very nice clean and friendly place. The staff always willing to answer any questions you have, and are very helpful. It is placed on a little side road off the High Street, so not easy to see. Plenty of parking on the high street or in the car park at the back of the restaurant, not far to walk from any direction. The food was excellent, and reasonably priced. Definitely worth going for a meal.
