The grosvenor bar in Brighton and Hove

Surely the most welcoming bar in Brighton. Taking a group of Scottish friends in and being made to feel like family. It was such a special atmosphere for our friends 30th and everyone made the night from Michael and the team to the regulars and the drag acts. Thanks for the best time. Not to be missed.

Probably the most welcoming bar I’ve ever been to. We were celebrating our friend’s 30th and were made to feel so special by everybody inside - both staff and punters. Michael and the team were brilliant at entertaining us and the drag shows were top quality - we cancelled our dinner plans to stay for more! Couldn’t recommend this place more if you want to feel relaxed and meet some incredible people from Brighton. Thank you for making our visit so much fun.

Have been to this bar a couple of times now to see Jennie Castell perform. We have been made very welcome on both occasions. All staff and clients have been very friendly. Great atmosphere. Would highly recommend.

Went out with the wife and a friend for his birthday. Wow what a night was entertained by Miss Jason and I couldnt be more happy. Atmosphere was amazing. The owners made us feel extremely welcome and so did the other visitors. Bar staff were fabulous too very accomidating. We will be going back without a doubt.

Excellent pub. Welcoming people, safe place. Lovely cocktails and drinks. Fair prices. We loved it and will be back whenever visiting Brighton. Highly recommend the Bingo night on Thursdays. Brilliant entertainment.

Hard to put into words the unique and fun experience of visiting the Grosvenor. I called in for a quick drink on a Holiday Monday and was greeted by a vision of glamour, a special drag act was on and from the moment we stepped in we didn't stop laughing. Probably one of the friendliest pubs in Hove with really good priced drinks and if you're lucky great entertainment, too. Super dog friendly, in fact, the dogs almost get more of a welcome than the humans 😄

Was greeted by a cute dog when enter. although the bar is small it was friendly and cosy sang along with the locals and the cute barman.

Had a great night enjoyed by all 6 of us, friendly pub with a great atmosphere, very reasonably priced Inc a good pint of Guinness. Plenty of dogs to make a fuss of. Will go again next time we are down.

This is a red facade public house in this cosy building with kind and helpful workers. I heard that every Friday and Saturday have live cabaret.with good prices

Visited last night, a vibrant little cosy bar. Good selection of beers and spirits. The owner and Lily his dog are very welcoming that gives it a friendly atmosphere. Carmelle Toe was brilliant and well done to all. Will visit again when back in Brighton.

Came in for couple of drinks on our day and night out in Kemptown. Really friendly bar staff . Good value drinks and clean and looks clean which is important as noticed other bars in Kemptown have not been.

The best kept secret on the Live Cabaret scene in Brighton! This really chic, relaxed neighbourhood bar off Western Road is a ‘must visit’ whether you live in Brighton or are visiting. Great cocktail menu, friendly staff and fabulous entertainment!

Just saw Carmella Toe at the Grosvenor Bar tonight. The bar is such a lovely intimate space which the most friendly staff and welcoming crowd. Carmella Toe is an absolute queen.

Nice welcome, given a good table etc. Sadly three of the five dishes ordered didn't show up. Mentioned it to a member of staff who shrugged her shoulders and went to get the bill. No apologies offered. It's a shame because up until then, we were saying how good it was and the two dishes we did recieve (fried squid and prawns) were pretty good. Would we go again?....probably but they need to sharpen up their service.

Went in the igloo on a rainy cold Monday night. Very cosy. The food was surprisingly good. The alcohol free beer was disgusting. The star of the show was Yazmin our server. Great personality and very welcoming.

Love the drag events on a Thurs and Sun. Lovely crowd and always a cute dog or two.

We were on holiday in Brighton and decided to walk to dinner. On our way we passed the Grosvenor and decided to stop in for a drink. It is newly re-done with a modern yet comfortable flair. The owner Jay was there and it was so much fun to hear about all the work they’ve put in to this beautiful place. He made all the furniture, lighting and stage himself! When he heard we just arrived he was a wealth of knowledge about the things we could go do and had amazing history to share(we probably owe him a private guide fee!) And the drinks…. I can’t begin to tell you what was best because every single one seemed to be my favorite! Joe the bartender is a super talented singer and drink maker! I can say that The Goldilocks, Cosmopolitan, and Espresso Martini we’re my favorite! Expertly crafted with quality! Seriously, this bar is high quality yet feels like a place you could hang all night with friends! There is also entertainment on some nights- we were lucky enough to catch 2 shows! Omg! We had so much fun and every single person and dog in the bar joined in! I have to note that this bar (& bathrooms) were so clean! That is important to me! Go see Jay and make the Grosvenor your new favorite place too!!!

This place is a rare wee gem. Friendly barstaff, dog-friendly, and good atmosphere.

What a warm welcome we had when visiting the Grosvenor Bar for the first time on Saturday afternoon. Drag artist Mabel led a fun and fabulous day including picture bingo and pass the parcel. Comedy prize of mystery tin ( label removed ) turned out to be beans- yummy tea the next day lol. Owner Mike provided a buffet and the atmosphere was fun and friendly. Lots of people seemed to know each other well and were welcoming to us first timers. Thank you for a wonderful time.

Fab refurb, and the new owners have done a good job. Another Lgbt venues survives is a big victory. May they thrive. Only feed back is lighting, it's super bright, it could be dimmed when shows are on to give it a lunge, bar vibe.

Great pub, good atmosphere, the entertainer of the evening picked up on my low mood, truly sorry about that but you did cheer me up.. :) Will go back for sure & I recommend the pub!!

Great evening with good cabaret provided by Lovinia Belle who has a great voice and a wide repertoire. Staff friendly and attentive, reasonably priced, clean toilets (sorry but it IS important!)

Nice, tiny local public with dragon shows. Always nice to pop by.

Friendly bar staff and good local vibe. Well planned layout, good for small groups. We played bingo on a Thursday with a funny drag queen host. I got a full house and I won £75 when I picked the correct colour handbag. Great fun!

It's a small, yet very friendly and welcoming bar. Very attentive staff, friendly clientele and a great manager. Nothings too much for anyone working there. Very chatty as well and always great to visit.

We popped in here both before and after eating at a place across the road, we received such a wonderful welcome that if we weren't booked for dinner we no doubt would have stayed here all night. Great selection of drinks and well set up for current regulations. Its off the beaten track but well worth hunting down, thanks for looking after us Colin.

Clean friendly cosy pub- Collin great landlord and great as Poo la May too. Great news years eve. All the staff made an effort and looked v smart dressed up. Davina sparkles as drag act.

With friends of mine, we have drunk here and cheerily spoken to many people, even the drag artists....have a great time. Simply join in with people at the bar or anywhere seating is available, someone knows the meaning of fun here in this establishment. Even the drag artists enjoy the banter, as one sips on wonderful & enticing drinks. Have fun and be entertained or sit and enjoy the company.

Super friendly local bar. The toilets are immaculate and the best in terms of what you need I've ever seen! Also, cute dogs hang here! What's not to like.

Love this bar, fantastic staff, Collin, Rob, Damo and Neil never fail to give friendly service with a smile. Customers are great and have become such good friends now. Cabaret nights are just brilliant. Spotlessly clean venue, my second home. Can honestly say I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so much since finding this little gem of a place.

Currently arguing how Kylie at Pride could be a solid 6 out of 10, but this pub can be a four stars! She put on a really good show, great stage presence and excellent show. The pub had a lush, soft carpet, a great atmosphere, and a drag queen who looked like George Doors.

Whilst a reluctant visitor to the Grosvenor as Drag Acts are not my thing - our out of town visitors love it . The welcome last night was great and my very " Brighton " shirt went down a treat . We were made very welcome and enjoyed lots of banter with the regulars . Seem to have improved the beer offering too .

Visited here a Sunday Lunch with a friend. It was pretty tatty looking but we fancied a drink after walking on the seafront. We felt completely unwelcome. Pretty tatty inside too. Not really a place we would visit ever again.

A small cosy Gay pub with cabaret on Saturday nights. No food just a boozer. Personal service from private owners and experienced manager. A treasure amongst lots of dross.

I love this venue , a true gem . It’s got great staff , and always a nice welcome . They have daily drinks promotions and a pint is only £ 3.30 during happy hour it changes time wise , but currently ( November 2018 ) from 1pm through to 5 pm . Please check the website for information. They have drag , singers , cabaret at weekends and the campest Bingo hosted by multi talented Mabel , who’s version of bingo is hilarious . Drop by and see for yourself . This pub is certainly worth a visit if in Brighton for a holiday and if you live here then you should come and check it out .

I’ve moved from London to Brighton. This is my getaway and this wonderful bar is the perfect place ! They’ve great daily drinks promotions as £3.00 for a pint of drought beers. They have Bingo on Thursday Nights , Friday & Saturday nights are cabaret nights ( Drag and it can get very busy ) . So local or visiting you should make every attempt to visit this great Bar .

Metimos en aquí el sábado por la noche antes de Navidad, y teníamos una gran reír. El personal era amable y atrayente, y espectáculos con la caca de mayo cantando su corazón. El ambiente era cálido y acogedor, con todos allí para pasar un buen rato. Será en nuestra lista de lugares a visitar de nuevo a nuestro regreso a Brighton.

Land lord is a legend on the drag queen circuit . Drag acts on every weekend just been refurbished , at the weekend you’ll have to get there early to get near the stage .

I went there recently to support a charity night they were holding. The bar was cosy clean and the staff really friendly. The drinks were reasonably priced too.

We were given a warm welcome in The Grosvenor. The place is classily decorated with pictures of legendary screen stars & drag acts from the golden age. There is a small stage where performances take place, on the evening we were there it was a fundraising event for a local hospice. Well worth a visit.

Excellent Bar and Staff` great nights with Cabaret Bingo and karaoke. Very good Beers and Wines and lots more.
