A true gem in Brighton. The Yellow Book is hands down my favourite pub in Brighton. From the moment you step through its doors, you're greeted by a warm and friendly atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The staff are incredibly kind, approachable, and always go above and beyond to make every visit special. What really sets The Yellow Book apart is its lively and eclectic events. Whether it's live music, a play, a drag show, or even the fabulous Vampire Ball for Halloween, there's always something exciting happening here. I especially loved the winter solstice performance and the night market, which showcased the vibrant and creative spirit of the community. The beer is simply delectable, and I appreciate the pub's alternative vibe that perfectly caters to my music taste. It's also a huge plus that The Yellow Book is dog-friendly. It’s more than just a pub; it’s a place where I’ve made lasting friendships and celebrated important milestones, including my partner and I's 1-year anniversary. The fact that it’s an LGBTQ+ friendly space makes it feel inclusive and welcoming for everyone. If you’re in Brighton and looking for a unique, alternative pub with great beer, amazing events, and a truly welcoming community vibe, The Yellow Book is an absolute must-visit!

The Yellow Book in Brighton is an absolute gem! Every visit feels like stepping into a warm, inviting space where the vibrant rock music sets the perfect mood. The staff are wonderfully friendly and genuinely make you feel right at home, creating an atmosphere that’s both welcoming and buzzing with positive energy. The pub's beautifully thought-out lighting enhances its cozy and charming vibe, reminiscent of lounging in a friend’s delightful back garden. It’s the kind of place where you immediately feel comfortable, letting the hours melt away over a great range of cocktails and drinks that cater to every taste. The Yellow Book also has a versatile events space upstairs! While I haven't attended any events there yet, the mere prospect of adding that layer of excitement to an already great spot has me eager to go! Whether you’re in the mood to relax with friends or explore new happenings, this place has it all. Highly recommend!

We discovered this place on a visit to the newly renovated Open Market. The market istelf has had a great makeover and worth a visit when they have a weekend antique/retro day. We only had a light lunch at Kouzina but it was a surprise to find a Greek restaurant there at all. Friendly service and great toasted sandwiches with Greek flavours and ingredients. I only wish we had a bigger meal as the food on the next table looked amazing and a huge portion. It may only be a market cafe but it is fun and a definite positive addition to eating in the London Rd area.

We went to the Walrus to have an early dinner before going to a music gig nearby. The restaurant upstairs is nice and well looked after. We had a number of starters to share. The garlic bread was nice and the meat and cheese board. The bread was am so very nice. I ordered the Chicken Schitzel, which was actually a Cordon Bleu. It was not flat like a Schitzel and had cheese and ham in it which a Schitzel does not. It was ok, but I would have preferred a Schitzel. My wife ordered a burger with chips. But as there were 5 of us, they decided to bring the good out gradually. But my wife's burger and chips were not very hot, the rest of the food was nice and Hot. The restaurant took the first drinks off the bill after we complained. I am not sure if I would go back.

Really over rated bar. I hate that my friends pick this place for its convenient location to our work. It has nothing redeeming about it in style nor substance. This place always has sticky dirty tables that will wreck your clothing. Proper sticky, greasy veneer on EVERY table, like they havent cleaned them once ever. Covid taught them nothing. Dried wax, slopped coffee, sugary drinks, it's all dried onto the table tops. The music is so LOUD you cant have a conversation with friends. 2pm on a Saturday, you want a coffee and chat. Forget it. You'll strain to hear a word with this nasty heavy rock blaring. You'll have to sit outside in the wet and cold to escape it! Twice we asked the bar guy to turn it down. It just kept creeping back up in volume and was blaring again after 15 mins. Music not even in-keeping with the SteamPunk theme. Real identity crises. Drinks too expensive and tiny selection. Nuts and crisps is it for snacks...didnt even have salt n vinegar. At least they have an arrangement with pizza place nearby so you can get a decent meaty, gluten free or vegetarian pizza via the bar staff. Toilets have that same grimy feel to the door and surfaces as the tables. Doors jam, seats wobble, old fixtures. It really needs a good deep clean!

My partner and I visited Brighton this weekend and were thrilled to stumble across this beautiful bar. For anyone who knows The Yellow Book, the decor is stunning and the walls awash with Beardsley’s art. I ordered a cappuccino made with soya. In short it was undrinkable, not a cappuccino and not acceptable, I asked the guy for a refund, he said it wasn't possible, I asked him if I could change it for a double espresso, he said no, he'd have to call his boss, which he did, with a great fuss, then I was allowed to have a replacement. He was incredibly rude, unbelievable. Awful coffee too even when it was done the second time. Bad news. Upset me, all I wanted was a five minutes break to eat a crap pastry and drink coffee and chill out!

As newly weds we wanted to do a couple of nights away after the wedding with our pooch. It’s always tricky finding gorgeous places to stay with a dog but Artist Residence now tops our list. They took time to ask about what our dog needed which was so thoughtful. We stayed in the balcony apartment which provided us a little more space and is next door to the main hotel entrance. The views and interior were stunning, the whole history behind the start up of the brand and the artwork vibe is right up our street. Small details are gorgeous, they really know how to decorate a room with the right palettes and soft furnishing brands. I was in my element looking at everything. The shower was fab and the bath in the bedroom was fancy. Even the dressing gowns made it that more special and lux - it’s the kind of thing you only expect from a super shiny hotel. Bed was divine and really comfortable, the type you sink into any get lost in. We loved the mid century feel and furniture choices! Staff were friendly and approachable always checking if things were okay which they were. Breakfast was yummy, could have eaten a bigger portion easily. There are lots of food options local and we ordered in pizza and people watched from the balcony. We’ve already got plans to check out the other locations and can’t wait to be back in those surroundings. We’d book again in a heartbeat, it’s 5-stars from us. Thanks for a lovely stay.
