We came for the 12 wines of Christmas on Saturday and had a great time! Rachel who ran the event was knowledgeable and friendly plus the drinks were obviously great! If it hadn’t cost us as much as the event in taxi fees we would be there regularly! Can’t wait to visit the pub in Audlem next given it’s much closer!
The best butcher I've been to?quite possibly. Everything is just quality. I love their mighty pork chops sometimes with a bit of kidney. All their bbq fare is spot on, and their seasonal faggots are incredible. The cheese counter is amazing too if you fancy some up market cheese with bread and wine on your hols. Local honey sold too. So more than a butcher! Family are lovely serving and and it's now sons and daughters on the sign 👍
As my friend had a big birthday (she won’t want me to divulge her age) 😜 I decided to take her somewhere new. I had seen Platform 29 on various social media sites & thought it looked very pleasant, so booked. Having never been to Ratcliffe in Trent, we set off on our adventure & we were not disappointed.
The staff were all very lovely, nothing was too much trouble, even when my friend had an intolerance to mayo which I hadn’t told them about when I booked & they had asked about dietary requirements. 🤦🏼♀️ They made her some plain sandwiches which were equally delightful.
The sandwiches were amazing, the bread was very fresh & light, the fillings plentiful. The scones were some of the best I’ve had anywhere & I’ve sampled a few in my time! Now I’m struggling to fine the words to describe the cakes (lemon & chocolate) as they were a triumph! The were so light & delicious, again some of the nicest I have had, with or without afternoon tea.
I would just like to say a really big “thank you” to them for making the experience memorable in truly the best way!
Stopped for a lovely tasty breakfast on a Wednesday morning. Surprisingly busy which I suspect reflects to popularity of the place. Good prompt and efficient service. All helped by being able to sit outside in the lovely weather. Surprisingly good for the area
Upon arrival we were greeted by a very rude and obnoxious person, who insisted we waited for service while she was chatting to a customer about the weather.
Then there was the food ...my children became ill shortly after we left the place, they had tuna baguettes and for some reason they tasted off .
When questioned about it the very impolite individual said"if you don't like it then leave"
The Café itself was poorly maintained, their was slight odour of mould near the main counter, the place was filled with trinkets to buy including photos of people eating on a summer's day there.
The toilet facilities were unsanitary,no hand soap,no paper towels to dry hands with and no lock on the door.
When leaving the Café it felt like we were leaving an old people's retirement home after visiting a relative,a Café/sandwich bar should be welcoming and should make their own food not fillings from plastic containers with no indication of it's freshness!
Since then I have spoke to several unhappy diner's who complained about the workers there who still seem to think being snappy, aggressive and rude is the correct way.
A warning to all please do not eat here if you value your wellbeing.
Simply, Still the best coffee shop in town, with the best banter, the best drinks and the best food (be it eating in or a take away), so glad we had chance to come back here in May 2021 and we will be back in Sept too. If you are planning a trip to Yarmouth you should plan a trip to Westwick Coffee Shop.
I’ve been to Moncks for brunch with my girlfriends. The environment is chic and the staff very professional, add lovely pancakes and coffee to the combo and you have a great spot for a relaxed but stylish catch up with your friends.
Moncks is in the heart of Myfair, close to Green Park and New Bond Street, definitely to take into consideration for a restoring drink after a busy shopping spree.
Chose Oh Crumbs purely at random. Good choice - very tasty Cromer Crab sandwiches on brown. They have a serving hatch off the pavement a few yards from the River Burke bridge approach. Placed order through window, waited a few minutes then order arrived. Went and ate on a bench by the bird feeding area next to the bridge. Would recommend.
Our second visit to the cafe and it was just as good as the first. Messaged on Facebook before we went and received a very quick reply. It was open for takeaway only so the tea room's tables were removed, creating plenty of space to move around in. A wide selection of food available for mid-morning on a Tuesday, including a great selection of cakes. Gluten free cake option available, as well as a range of cakes. We had four different ones between us and each one was, just delicious!
