Westbrook Cafe in Thanet

Yet another great meal. Always a friendly welcome and the food is always to a very high standard. My chicken kebab with salad was delightful as usual.

Great shepherds pie and a plate mostly fresh vegetables. Gravy recommended and big roasted spuds Will come again Opposite the old bathing hospital

Great food and service. My family really enjoyed our breakfast so much we came back for dinner. I look forward to returning from New Zealand next summer.

Superb! We visited for brunch and breakfast. Great quality food at good prices. I had a cheese and onion omelette with chips and salad. All beautifully cooked, the omelette packed full of filling and the salad had a touch of sweetness to it that lifted everything (maybe pomegrante?). Great value, quick service and we will be back.

Whenever we visit Margate we go here for breakfast They are closed on a Tuesday but open every other day The staff are so friendly and pleasant The food is freshly cooked, hot and tasty Definitely the best place to go for breakfast

We have just stayed in Margate for 7 days and had breakfast here every day (except Wednesday when they are closed) We first visited here in June 2021 and then again in November 2021 When we arrived this week, staff recognised us straight away After first morning they remembered our drinks order Food is freshly cooked, hot and tasty Menu has lots of variety We will be here every day when we visit again

We didn't feel like cooking a roast today so after a bit of searching on the apps we found Westbrook Cafe. We ordered a beef roast and chicken roast, both were plentiful in portions and were piping hot still. Quick delivery as well! It came 10 mins before the estimated time. Top marks guys! We will order again soon! :)

Whenever we visit our family in Margate we have a family Sunday breakfast here (4 adults and 2 children). Couldn't recommend it highly enough. It's clean, cheerful, lovely friendly staff and fantastic food. Honestly the cheese omlette is the best I've ever had out. Fluffy, cheesy and lightly crispy. So good the grandchildren were taking it off my plate. I'm hungry now just thinking about it but I'm back home 500 miles away. We will always be back when we visit our family.

I dropped in for that quick cuppa - and saw that they served apple crumble with custard. It was a generous helping - and delicious! The girl behind the counter said it was home-made and indeed it tasted "just like Mum made!" It was so good I came back the next day for more grub! The atmosphere was relaxed and the staff were friendly. What more could you want?

We arrived in Margate and were staying near Westbrook Bay and needed to find somewhere for some lunch until we got our bearings and found where everything was. We found this cafe and looked at menu in window and were impressed with selection and prices. The cafe is extremely clean and staff friendly, which is always helpful when in a new area. The food was delicious and very generous portions. We were in Margate for 6 days and ate lunch or breakfast at this cafe everyday (except Wednesday when they were closed) I am Coeliac and cannot eat gluten and even though the menu did not show gluten containing food, it was obvious what I could and could not eat. I did ask about gluten in the curry and staff were not sure so advised it may not be safe and I was happy to choose something else from the menu. We will definitely visit here again when in Margate and would recommend it to anyone looking for tasty food at reasonable prices

In Margate for 4 day trip. This cafe has good food at a fair price. The owner and his family were very friendly and helpful and my family and myself would highly recommend.

After being shut for a long time due to the pandemic it’s great to have this cafe place back open again. We went in the other day and followed social distancing within the cafe and the use of sanitiser. We ordered chicken grill with salad and a traditional breakfast . The food was good as usual and cooked within a reasonable time . Staff are very good and Metin and his daughter very friendly and helpful.

High quality food at low prices. After a long walk I had grilled chicken salad and a can of coke for £5.65. Superb quality and a large portion with delicious salad dressing.

We walk past this cafe everyday and always look at the specials board outside that has the meals of the day on and the prices. We have eaten at various times of the day and have always found the food very good. The owner is very chatty and all the staff pleasant and polite . The food is all cooked fresh and well presented. I normally go for the traditional breakfast or cheese burger and chips. My wife has jacket potatoes and filling or a sandwich with side salad.

The breakfasts in this cafe are very good and reasonably priced . There are various options you can choose or make up your own ,all cooked fresh to order. The lunch time meals are good also with daily specials on the board outside . We have noticed that the flats across the road in the old hospital site used by a lot of people from London love it here as it is much cheaper than where they come from and it saves the time cooking. Price wise it is reasonable priced and the quality good and a lot of the meal prices include tea or coffee too.

Tucked away at the top end of Margate, this very unpretentious place has a reasonable range to the menu, all at very reasonable prices. Only had a hot chocolate and a slice of apple crumble (with custard and cream) , and both were delicious!

I discovered this little gem about a month ago after a long walk. I had a mug of coffee which was very good. This time I dropped by for brunch and had an excellent jacket potato with beans and cheese plus a diet coke for £5.60 !! The portions are large and good quality. Family run it is a very friendly place and the gentleman front of house is charming.

Had my usual burger brunch but I think they have changed burgers and sausages was not as good as usually is

With a surprisingly large menu this friendly café is a real find. The location is very close to lovely Westbrook Bay and the café well worth the short walk from the beach. Hours are early morning to 5pm and Sunday dinner is excellent.

If i need a good local breakfast i come here and its always excellent.Of course prices need to rise now and then so was a bit taken back when the mega breakfast had gone up a whopping 70p! bit much i felt but other than that fine

Despite living in Kent for decades, we’d not visited Margate for donkeys’ years. As it was due to be a sunny afternoon, we took the train there arriving at lunchtime, hungry and ready for a filled jacket potato to eat. I’d looked on TripAdvisor and though there were not too many reviews for the Best Westbrook Cafe, ALL the reports were extremely positive and praiseworthy. The Best Westbrook is Just 6 minutes short walk from the station, away from the main beachfront. It’s a freshly-decorated, clean, bright, welcoming place. The staff are friendly and efficient. The menu quite extensive with everything from roast dinners, breakfasts, filled baked potatoes, sandwiches, you name it really. The kitchen is open plan and in plain view for diners which I like. You can see the beavering away on your order. Whilst we waited for our chilli jacket and tuna-mayo jacket, we sipped our tea (80p) and orange juice (£1) and watched with mouth-watering amazement when they brought out a massive breakfast to a nearby table. It was MASSIVE! Our meals arrived garnished....no garnish implies a bit of lettuce and a tomato..... accompanied by a superb salad of mixed leaves, tomato, radish, cucumber, beetroot, onion - absolutely lovely! The jacket potatoes overflowed with tuna-mayo and really excellent chilli con carne. The portions were definitely man-sized, and big man-sized to be honest. Good quality baked potatoes cooked to perfection. We both ate enthusiastically and just loved our choice. The bill came to £10.80.... yes £10.80 !!!! Incredible value for money, and such nice people running it. They told me they’d been there about 10 years and were trying to finish off the recent redecoration though it all looked fine to me. This place is, to use an overused expression, a hidden gem, just off the main drag. The staff work hard to produce great, tasty, plentiful food and really deserve the ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ rating they’ve got on TripAdvisor. Do yourselves and them and favour and drop by if you visit Margate. The places on the main seafront don’t seem to get the best ratings which is no surprise really. They’ve got the position and lots of passing trade. Take 6 minutes to walk down to the Best Westbrook. It’ll be 6 minutes of your life you won’t regret. As for Margate....I’m somewhat unimpressed. The beach is lovely but it’s all very tired and dismal. Some of the bric-a-brac shops are quite fun, but there are rows of empty shops, drunks in the street and very little to pull in the crowds.....except an excellent little Turkish-run cafe called the Best Westbrook

The do special offers on certain meals daily as well. Nice and clean inside and the staff are polite and helpful . The inside has been freshly painted in bright colours and it really looks good.

Only ever had a cooked breakfast but always been nice. It’s clean and the service is good. Parking can be a pain but would defo visit again.

This is now the Westbrook café and is situated on a main road. It is airy and bright with a shiny wooden floor and the wall art inside is varied. There is a menu in the front window and also above the counter and this a wide variety of meals to choose from

Estaba planeando para comer aquí, pero fue casi 3 pm y nuestra primera opción estaba cerrado, así que decidimos probarlo, y estamos contentos de haberlo hecho.

Una cálida bienvenida en este café y la comida era fresca, deliciosa y muy, muy buena relación calidad-precio. Margate está un poco gastada en lugares y sería muy fácil para pasar el café y cambiar a los restaurantes más reconocibles de cadena y cafeterías. Soy un verdadero creyente en el apoyo a los comerciantes independientes y esto fue un gran descubrimiento.

We were in dire need of a cup of tea and a sandwich and popped in to try this café. The food was lovely as was the tea. Tea was only 80p. Excellent food, friendly owner, spotless café and extremely clean toilets which speaks volumes...

We called in one morning for breakfast and could not believe how cheap the choice of dishes were. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was delivered to our table quick, it was hot and good quality items not cheap things like some cafes....

Really was homemade pie fantastic large chunks of meat, my friends had mixed grill Only downside was tiniest Lamb chop we had ever seen

Mi amigo y yo fuimos allí en un capricho para encontrar un desayuno, nos sorprendió muy agradablemente, gran variedad de desayunos todo fresco, el servicio rápido y agradable atmósfera. Ampliamente superiores a otros lugares en los que hacer desayunos en el área, tales como el elefante mecánico. El aparcamiento puede ser un problema ya que está justo en la concurrida calle principal pero realmente vale la pena caminar un poco.

Great value food and a very pleasant service, a good variety of food on the menu, I will be using it more often from now on
