Sakura Sushi and Buns Takeaway in Redbridge

We love sakura sushi and buns. The service is great and the food is delicious. Would definitely recommend.

The salmon sashimi wasn't the best and didn't have much flavour but the rest was quite decent, might try again.

We absolutely love sushi and tried many many places before we came to Sakura and we have never been anywhere else since. Not just us but our extended family and friends all go to Sakura and only Sakura regularly. Very friendly staff, excellent customer service and the best food ever.

We just had a take away from Sakura; South Woodford; and sorely regret it. I longed for light airy tempura and got greasy clumps of veg in batter; Chinese style battered prawns and let's NOT speak of the baby squid. I ordered katsu pumpkin; expecting slices of pumpkins in. Rispt batter. I got luminous green mash in breadcrumbs. The while meal was grim; greasy and so disappointing.

We picked up a takeaway on Tuesday evening, first time we have used this place. The food was so delicious and we’re definitely going to make this our regular now. It was all presented well and not greasy and fatty as some takeaways are. Thank you so much for.

Was told about this takeaway so thought I would give it ago. Staff are so friendly and helpful asked for help with making a choice and told the guy what I wanted, 5***** stars for that. I ordered a selection of food which mostly tasted really good except the stir fried rice with prawns which unfortunately was tasteless. I would go back and order but not the rice dish.

This sushi takeaway is the best. It’s tasty, fresh and not expensive. It’s our absolute favourite and our go-to for special occasions. We love it.

These guys are soo friendly and efficient. The sushi is the best I’ve ever tasted and overall the food is fabulous! Last time I picked up they offered me a miso broth while I waited (3mins) So glad I found this place !! Addicted !!

The team at Sakura sushi and bun are probably the most important people in London to cook food this amazing and accessible is unheard of, please eat here and understand the true levels of master cooking in this kitchen, I’d move to South Woodford and eat here all year round if I could! I LOVE this place, it’s a national treasure!

This was a gem of a sushi shop...didn’t know what I would expect when I stepped in the shop but they were so friendly and welcoming and the food was absolutely delicious! They also gave some free miso soup whilst we were waiting(:

I'm embarrassed to admit that I should have written this review ages ago. I'm a regular at Sakura but I have wanted to keep the place a secret for myself but that is obviously not fair or sustainable. Fortunately the rest of the world doesn't think selfishly like me. What can I say about this place. Well lets start with the food. It's frankly the best Sushi I've ever had and I've done my fair share of travel. We moved to South Woodford 5 years ago and have previously used Wansteads Sumo Fresh until Sakura moved in. A tiny space on Hermon Hill I've watched it grow from a couple of people to over half a dozen and the quality and care have been maintained if not even excelled. Sakura ensure quality, if you have to wait for that quality then get over yourself, it's worth it. You get personal service each and everytime. I don't know how they do it but they know me by name and they look after me everytime.

Pre ordered a take away as it was a large order and got to say great food and great service it's a shame they do not do eat in.

ordered from here for the fist time yesterday. the only tiny negative was the waiting time for the order- but you can see why. Everything was freshly prepared and utterly delicious. Sushi was beautifully presented and was totally yummy. All the hot food was excellent and savoured by carnivores, fish lovers and the vegan in our party. Another plus was that the vegan food is clearly labelled and varied .I understand the wait ! this food was worth waiting for !

Such great food, vegetarians included. The buns are a particular highlight with the veggie kakiage buns my personal favourite. Great value for money food and really friendly service to go with it.

We have been getting takeaway from here for last couple of years and it's now our regular weekly treat. They have a small food/breakfast style bar to eat in but it's mostly a takeaway restaurant. Food is fresh and healthy and not oily and heavy like other takeaway food. It really is home cooked food at the highest quality.I have been to Japan many times and can confirm that this is an authentic Japanese tasting restaurant. We have recommended to many friends who now go here regularly.Staff are lovely and friendly and make an effort to get to know you and greet you. They appreciate their customers.

We have been here many times and their sushi and buns are consistently amazing. They have so many unique and creative sushi’s especially if you’re vegetarian. The owners are lovely and it’s so nice to support a local shop. We love coming here for takeaway whenever we are in the area. Highly recommend. Everything is made really fresh as you order.

Absolutely love this place, cant recommend it enough. Can get quite busy on a weekend evening but that's just because they are so well loved! If you go any other time, ask for a recommendation from the menu. They have never disappointed me!

Lovely team producing great fresh food, including the most attractive and precise hand rolls. Fantastic steamed buns which I just can’t stop eating. Orders all ticked back before collection and everything has been perfect every time I have been. Denied absolute perfection by the absence of more environmentally sound packaging.

Very friendly staff, delicious hot appetisers, fresh clean tasting sushi and complimentary miso soup. Stools and benches by the window and wall if you want to eat-in while enjoying the hubbub of the kitchen preparation and the of customers collecting their take-aways.

Amazing sushi, great prices, staff is very friendly. The location aswell is very cozy with anice view on the neighborhood.

The Sushi and buns at Sakura are consistently excellent, lovingly prepared by the owners and their staff. You can tell how much they care about ensuring customer satisfaction, with every dish made fresh and checked before it is handed to you. There is often a bit of a wait as they are so busy (see also popular) but it’s worth it, especially with a complimentary miso soup! We will continue to go back to Sakura again and again.

I have been going there since it opens best. good by Miles the staff are Excellent Blossom and her Husband are so welcoming they give you misto soup. my sons Love it there and if they could have it every Day they would so much to chose from katsue curry is very nice and Karage buns so nice. Even Vegetarian Food the Sushi is so Fresh. This is the best around I've tried near buy and nothing compaers to this great Little Find.

Fabulous food, super fast friendly service, what a gem this take away is! Had the Miso, Assorted Tempura, Veggie Kakiage as well as Crab Tempura buns, Katsu Chicken and lots of sushi..... delicious!

Fresh sushi, delicious buns, lovely people - this place is an absolute winner. I've been to very expensive central London sushi places that don't have a patch on Sakura. Love them!

I have been visiting this place since it’s previous home in aldersbrook, and have to say it will be a long time before this gaff doesn’t get five stars. Great people, great food, great value. I’ve been to japan twice, and yet the best food is on Hermon Hill!

A truly excellent Japanese takeaway with the added bonus of very Un-Japanese, super friendly service. Sakura preps the best food for miles around, bar none. Their eel sashimi is the stuff of legend.

The atmosphere is very welcoming and family friendly. The dogs are fast and efficient but like à chat too.

The food from Sakura is, quite simply, stunning. The miso soup and sushi that we had were the best I have tasted outside Japan, and better than quite a bit of what I ate in Japan. It's fresh, healthy and full of delicious flavours. Sure, there are cheaper takeaway options in Wanstead and South Woodford, but it is really worth paying a little extra to order from Sakura instead. And the staff always have a genuinely warm and friendly smile ready for you when you collect.

Fantastic, friendly and welcoming service and food faultless. Open kitchen style takeaway with small area to eat if wanted. Wide range of options, including sushi, noodles and rice based meals, all cooked fresh in front of you. Can't recommend highly enough.

I have been visiting Sakura twice a month for the past 6 months or so. The food is delicious, particularly sushi, chicken katsu and salmon tariyaki. I also like their karaki chicken. Their service is simply the best.

This is the best sushi I have ever tasted and I have eaten a lot of sushi. It is owned/run by two of the friendliest people, whose customer service is incredible. I order food from here at least twice a month and am always impressed with the flavours and the freshness and size of the sashimi pieces.
