Spitfire Ice Cream & Pizza in Southampton

After just moving into the area, we landed up living very close to Spitfire. We have had a few pizzas since and cannot recommend this place enough. Incredible, fresh pizza and amazing price. Thank you so much! 🍕💛

The best ice cream and pizza place around! Seriously! My partner is Italian and from Naples (where the pizza was born) this place is amazing! The best and closest pizza you will get to a real Napoli pizza 🇮🇪 the ice cream is divine and the pizza is fresh, hot and melts in your mouth. Everything is made fresh, the owner is very friendly and goes out of his way to make your visit a pleasant one. Highly recommended this quirky place. The prices are VERY reasonable and it’s a fantastic place to visit with children. My children LOVE this place.

My daughter and son-in-law recommended Spitfire Ice Cream and Pizza on our visit to Southampton from Halifax, NS Canada. We we’re NOT disappointed that we went. Ian has an incredible skill for making one of the finest pizzas I have had in a long long time. Ian was welcoming and chatted as he skillfully prepared three of his delicious pizzas for us to takeout. The price was great only 7 pounds for a 10 inch. If you are in the area drop by you won’t be disappointed! It is just worth it to walk in and say hello and take a pic of this quant little shop. And maybe grab a milkshake. Next trip for sure!

Lovely little place in Woolston that is well worth a visit. The pizzas are freshly made and smell and taste great. Had the meat feast and two cheese pizzas and the garlic bread, all were hot and eaten up with gusto. If you want to treat visit this place.

Spitfire Ice Cream & Pizza is a tiny place on the corner of Woolston crossroads.It sells a limited but tasty selection of ice creams and also pizza in a wood wired stove. Proper job. I'm never quite sure of opening times, but in the summer if we see it open we do enjoy getting an ice cream and sitting on the bench outside. Not the most scenic of spots, but it feels the right thing to do. Good fun. A Woolston icon.

Noticed the store whilst sat at the traffic lights. Next day decided to try it out and it was a decision I would make again! The service was great, it’s a man on his own to enjoys making pizza and the pizza was spot on. It’s a tiny place with lots of character, a good price for pizza. The wait wasn’t long but the conversation was good whilst waiting, it was also good to look around at the collectables. If you are in the area go and explore this little gem, you won’t be disappointed.

We had seen some great reviews online so decided we should try this place out. Spitfire Pizza is very small and does take away only which you need to collect. The owner is very friendly and you can watch your pizza be made, there’s also seating outside if you want to wait to collect. We ordered two pizzas and our order was ready within ten minutes. The prices are very reasonable at £7 for a great quality 10” pizza. They are all made to order and you get a generous portion of toppings and cheese. The pizza tastes incredible and make it feel like you are eating a pizza from a small place in Italy. I couldn’t recommend more!

Been meaning to try this place for ages and finally got round to it tonight. It might be tiny but it hasa lot of character. A right little gem. It dosnt get more independent. All made from scratch and absolutly flippin delisious. Hands down the best pizza ive ever had.

Heard many great reviews about this place from family and friends and had to try it out for myself. Really great guy making the pizzas, I always have a good chat when I go there and have an ice cream outside whilst I’m waiting for the pizza. Would definitely recommend to anyone thinking of trying it out!

I popped in today after reading plenty of positive reviews. I’ve known about this place for a while but whenever I want a pizza I always think of the large chains. I had a Mexican pizza and a cheesy garlic bread (this will comfortably feed 2 adults). This came to £10. Both were full of flavour and cooked well plus great value. This place really puts the big chains to shame especially as they charge over £20 for a pizza unless you get bogof. This is now my go to venue for a tasty pizza and getting value for money!

We love this place! Delicious pizza made by a lovely bloke in a gorgeous little shop. Really proud to have this in Woolston. Excellent value for money. Our little boy has a pizza most Fridays, after he’s had his ice cream starter of course. And the ice cream is pretty special too x

We had been told by friends how good this place is. Prepared and cooked quickly with fresh ingredients. Perfect size, great price, the best I've tasted since working in Naples.

This is a fabulous one-man show where pizzas are cooked very quickly to order at an incredible price. Have been twice now and the owner is very friendly, very helpful and the food quality is fab! Will definitely be coming back.

This is a little gem in Woolston, so glad we found it! The pizza is freshly cooked infront of you and tastes so good, the cheesy garlic pizza is awsome too! The gentleman who runs it is very friendly and always has a good range of toppings. The ice creams are also amazing - great flavours, good quality and generous portions. Note it's cash only but there is a cash point across the road and we now order over the phone and by the time we've driven 5 minutes down the road it's almost ready! Great little place and we highly recommend for an amazingly priced take away (£6 per pizza!) and to support a local small business!

Family just had 3 gorgeous pizzas from Spitfire. They are amazing - proper Italian style - reminded us of our honeymoon in Sorrento! Great food, lovely friendly chef!!

This pizza place is a little hidden gem. Delicious toppings, perfectly sized and cooked pizzas and the most wonderful owner. Going back for dinner tonight and can't wait!

My best friend and her boyfriend come here all the time and constantly talk about it so I HAD to try it. It's such a small place so it's take-out only. Pizzas are freshly made in front of you and only take minutes to cook. I think there's about 6 different flavours but you can swap/ substitute ingredients if they are available. I had a vegetable pizza and the garlic bread is just lovely! Pizzas are £6 each and garlic bread with cheese is £4 (it's even the same size as the pizza!) In future I will get my pizzas from here. The owner is lovely and down to earth and did an amazing job. We need to support our small, local businesses!

Great little place. Food is always spot on. A warm and friendly old school service that you do not get in all of the franchise restaurants that are everywhere. Support your local business and get a awesome pizza at the same time!

Forget the vastly overpriced high street, national establishments and take a trip to this lovely little gem of a pizza (and ice cream!) provider tucked away on Portsmouth road, next to the small gardens with the sliver feather sculpture on the corner. While not strictly a restaurant ( its a take away ), the quality of this guys pizzas are superb, cooked fresh on the premises to order and at a price (£6 at the time of writing) that l doubt could be beaten anywhere in Southampton. The toppings are generously applied and you can tell they are very fresh too. There is quite a choice to suit the vegetarians and meat eaters alike and they are stone baked to perfection and the owner/chef is a really friendly bloke too.

My son had a pizza here after attending the Woolston Christmas fair. What a revelation! This will be the only place we buy pizza from now on! Wonderful quaint little place, better than any fast food restaurant pizza we’ve had before. Highly recommend

Very good pizzas. Authentic an incredibly tasty. Brilliant value. Really quaint building- full of character. Why anyone wants Dominos instead of this is beyond me

This place is fantastic. The pizzas are unbelievable value and the owner is always so friendly. If you are in Olafs the bar staff will order and he hand delivers them to your bar stool ;) You dont get much value these days but this is up there. 100% recommended!

Was looking forward to getting pizza from here as great to support a new local business and reviews looked great. Was disappointed that pizza toppings fell off when we picked the piece up, cheese too thick and one had onion on it which we didn't order and therefore my god daughter went hungry.

So lovely to be able to order a pizza when drinking at Olaf's Tun opposite. Superb pizza and service. Recommend the supreme!

Fantastic pizza cooked made and cooked in front of you by Ian with his secret recipe. All lovely and ideal if you want a night off cooking.

Every pizza is custom made so there's a bit of a wait if there's a queue but it's worth it. This is a take away service but you know you're getting fresh ingredients and proper dough. It just like the pizza you'd get in a a small Italian village - except it's in Woolston!
