Fabulous Italian cusine with a Spanish Tapas vibe. Very stylish venue. Packed when we were there on Saturday night. 'Small plates' are great for sharing, each the size of a large starter / small main. Quality of food is exceptional.

2 perfect private parties. Young, smiling and efficient service.

Beautiful place, greenery around, tasty vegetarian dishes and more, delicious pizza, Sunday lunch, large portions and delicious roast biff, I recommend visiting and tasting it.

Great location in Ocean Village! Quickly became our favorite restaurant in Southampton during our 10 day stay! Great food and atmosphere for a drink or two! Special thanks and recognition for Tilly who immediately made us feel like family and took such great care of us each and every time we came in! Bacaro is so lucky to have someone like Tilly who does it all! She is without a doubt the best of the best! Highly recommend her for a promotion and raise! Thanks again Tilly! We miss you already! The Service and Atmosphere was good. But the food was not worth the price at all. It was expensive and the food was just bland. The Pizzette and Bruschetta were okay. But the Pesto gnocchi and Rosemary&Apricot meatballs were very bad. It was just raw flavours. The gnocchi tasted like grass. The meatballs tasted like medicine.

9 of us celebrated a 25th birthday. Front start to finish everything was just right. Greeted by our host Tilly, seated and given time for the whole group to join. Tilly have the perfect amount of attention, was great at explaining the menu and asking questions. The food was fantastic and served in a timely professional manner. Manners of all team members were spot on. Polite when bringing more dishes and apologies for interrupting. I believe the service and food was the best I have had in a long time. This was our visit, it won't be my last.

Such a great place for yummy food, amazing ambiance, and incredible service. We didn’t take many food shots but HIGHLY recommend the arancini and spinach side. So affordable! Yummmmm

Bacaro is certainly my favourite restaurant in Southampton. We use it for big occasions, family dinners and Sunday roasts. The service is always top class and with the menu rotation you can easily make multiple trips a year. The Sunday roasts are something to be experienced and are certainly number 1 in the area.

We arrived and found that our table was in the centre of the bar area which was great fun. There was a fun vibe and we were close to the live music. There were lots of staff on shift and we were served very fast. Throughout the evening the team were on hand and the food service was great. There were lots of wine options and we were pleased with our selections. We ordered lots from the taps menu, and it was delicious. The steak strips and the squid were my favourite. The live music was really good, the pianist and the singer were great. Great to have live music while you eat. Good selection of puddings. Great place for a party.

Thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Bacaro, first time here, gorgeous food, we shared croquettes and brie for starter,steak for our main and the most gorgeous tiramisu for dessert. Service was great and the atmosphere too.

Mi esposa y yo fuimos a cenar el domingo y fue increíble. Buen ambiente, comida y servicio. Tilly proporcionó un servicio amable y atento, así como algunas buenas recomendaciones. Los dos pedimos la carne triple y todo estaba cocinado a la perfección. Las verduras asadas y las patatas no decepcionaron y estaban deliciosas. Compartimos el brownie de chocolate de postre y nos fuimos sintiéndonos bastante satisfechos y deseando volver en un futuro próximo.

Nice place to enjoy a dinner. Menu is not Italian , an fettuccine was broken .. they served with spoon . This is not Italian style . Anyway atmosphere was nice , service excellent. Wine’s list to be revisited… especially better remove wine with screw caps and add wine with natural wine corks. Price standard for Uk

Tuvimos una velada muy agradable hecho aún más especial por el personal amable y atento que no podía hacer lo suficiente para hacer nuestra visita especial.

Went for lunch today, first time visit for me, staff friendly, roast was delicious and a fab choice of wine by the glass. Bit disappointed in the cheesecake I don’t think there was any cream cheese such as ricotta or mascarpone in it, it just tasted of cream and was bland. But everything else was perfect.

La comida era deliciosa. El personal era muy amable. Sólo una queja. Hacía viento oscuro y llovía con lluvia. I Estacioné mi coche en el aparcamiento justo fuera del restaurante. Compré mi boleto de estacionamiento por el tiempo apropiado. El sábado recibí una multa de estacionamiento ya que aparentemente estacioné en la parte privada del estacionamiento. ¿Cómo iba a ¡Sepan que no debería estacionar allí! Sugiero que Bacaro ponga una advertencia en la puerta para decir a los clientes que se aseguren de que estacionan en el lugar correcto. Im £ 60 ligero y sentirse agraviado.

Mi lugar favorito para un Sunday Roast. Comida fabulosa como siempre. Ambiente encantador y decoración. Nuestra camarera era fabulosa, desearía saber su nombre. Creo que era polaca (eso es irrelevante). De todos modos, ronda de aplausos para ella, Si tuviera un gemido sería que algunas mesas están bastante cerca unas de otras.

Gorgeous spot for a date night, with attentive staff and a homely atmosphere, guaranteed to make you feel at home. You have to visit here, the menu and drinks are unbelievable!

Wonderful restaurant, great food, attentive and friendly staff, good wine/beer. Cocktails could be a little better - asked for a caipirinha (menu suggested asking...) but they had never heard of it so had a mojito instead. This was ok but had to ask for extra sugar - bartender added a brown sugar syrup (i asked for brown sugar rather than vanilla which was his first choice). Only real drawback was that it was very cold at the bar (staff admitted it was hard to heat the space). Will definitely return to this lovely restaurant, very happy to have found it!

Lovely spot for a romantic evening meal. We visited on November 8th, forgot to leave a review but the food and service was outstanding. They have a variety of high tables, cosy nooks and candles for ambience. The drinks were well prepared, and we were given an ice bucket for our Prosecco. I can imagine on a summer evening this is elevated to a new level. Suitable for a couple who are veggie and non-veggie, with plenty to pick from if you want a combination of small plates and pizzettes. Great atmosphere and would definitely suggest a visit. See you again in the future!

It's beyond me how this place gets such great reviews for their Sunday sharing roast. Unfriendly faces on staff, overpriced drinks, stone cold plates, potatoes and parsnips tasted like they were cooked from frozen or reheated. Carrots undercooked, suede like water and the cauliflower cheese was simply awful. There was plenty of sugary sweet red cabbage and undercooked boiled carrots but nowhere near enough of anything else. I get that this is a small portion restaurant but the food quality and portion sizes were shockingly bad. We paid a little over £245 for 6 people which included a surprise service charge of £22.12. The service was grossly underpar, made worse by the confusing ordering process which was not helped by our waitress. Not one of our party said they would ever return. Save your money and go elsewhere. There are much better places to eat. However, if you like being ripped off and eating overpriced, substandard tasteless food, then this is definitely the place for you.

It was our first visit to this restaurant, but certainly not the last when we are next in Southampton. The food was delicious, the service was very nice, helpful, the food was served very quickly. The decor of the restaurant was wonderful, the atmosphere. We felt sensational in every respect. It's been a long time since we were in such a nice, tasty and cozy restaurant.

First time we'd been and it was a Sunday. We were greeted by all staff as we arrived, with great smiles. We were quickly shown to our table and the atmosphere was great, cosy and warm place with great character. We skipped starters and went straight for the mixed roast, and it was absolutely amazing!! Lots of it, perfectly cooked, beautifully presented and all sauces supplied. This was the best roast we've had in Southampton and we can't wait to try their weekday menu soon.

Amazing first time dinner and perfect service by Mat (the GM). Scallops were really good and nice cocktails. Cheesehoard needs a bit of rework - a bit dry, needs relish, crackers were a bit stale and grapes were a bit brown and squishy. However it was good for the value. Deffo coming back 👍

Ok its 4yrs since i was last here and the food remains excellent it just Disadvantaged by the parking arrangement, ie parking watch you know the company £60 pound fines etc etc Totally unnecessary in my opinion and just makes the evening difficult. My only other gripe would be how they serve the food ie as it gets cooked so as in our case say 3 of us were on our second dish before one of us got their first again it doesn't really work and makes it awkward and is not good manners is it! Staff are excellent though and the general ambience is good. My advise Bacaro would be find a better spot :-)

We are regulars. The food is always excellent, the service good and the environment is attractive. One irritation last night was to be told that the kitchen would close for hot food at 8.45. Strange!

We visited what was our favourite place for dinner on Saturday 28th September. Unfortunately it left us disappointed. This visit was definitely not an experience but felt like everything was dumped on our table to get us out of the way. Scallops are usually amazing this time they were just mushy with no flavour. Arancini were over cooked and again very mushy inside. Beef croquettes tasted great but were burnt on the outside. Overall £380 later and one compliment to give cocktails were unreal. Very upsetting since we were celebrating a birthday but larger parties seem to take priority. Will not be rushing back

£6 a scallop, £6 a small cup of fries, you can get better for your money, but oh my word, the food is super tasty, excellent customer service, a fantastic atmosphere, diverse clientele. We had dinner 8:45 pm, the place was vibrant. Really good vibe.

I chose this restaurant because of the good reviews and I am shocked that a place with such a good review has such poor and expensive food, the portions are so small and of poor quality that after eating the main course I didn't even feel that I had eaten something, shame on me I will never come there again

First off- this was not a bad experience. The staff were great, the restaurant is beautiful and the food was pretty good. It was just hugely over priced for what it was. The pork was £15 per portion and it was literally four tiny slices of pork fillet. The sides were over priced too, at £8. Unfortunately the whole meal, although tasty, wasn’t hot either. Overall, nice flavours, just too pricey for what it is!

Lovely food and staff. Ran out of gluten free Yorkshire puddings but the staff made a special effort and made me two! It was very much appreciated as I know dietary requirements can be a pain in the arse. Been here twice, would definitely recommend.

Love this restaurant bar in Ocean Village. I spent time catching up with ex work colleagues and it was just the right place to chill and soak up the relaxing vibe. Sharing plates are it main offer however we had the burgers and saltimbocca mains both good choices

Bacaro was on my list for a long time! In the middle of August we managed to go for a Sunday lunch ant it was really enjoyable! We had the beef, the lamb and the fish, everything was cooked very nicely. Very good service. We’ll be back 😃

I ate here a week ago, and had a fantastic service experience. The meal I chose was too spicy for me, so the staff got me to pick another option on the menu to replace it and took it off the bill entirely. Also the brownie was absolutely delicious! I would totally recommend this place to anyone looking for yummy Italian with good vegan options.

Second time here, great experience. Little bit snug & quite close to a large group of loud patrons which isnt always the best - but thats no fault of the warm & welcoming staff who are attentive and helpful

Family of 5 came for Sunday lunch. It’s probably the best roast dinner to be found around here. We had all the meats, they were all cooked perfectly & the accompaniments were very generous & delicious. We sat outside, the whole place appears super clean, the atmosphere is lovely & the staff were great & the manager friendly. I recommend coming here. Thank you to all the staff.

Hands down the best carvery place in Southampton

We celebrated a wedding reception here yesterday and what an amazing experience. Staff were incredible especially with helping me charge my camera batteries! What an amazing place and the food was outstanding! Everything was just perfect for the newlyweds! It was amazing!

We decided to try this place out for our biweekly date night. The atmosphere was warm and lively and the service was fantastic. We were a bit disappointed by the size of some of the plates of food. Especially the small plates section. We thought it was incredibly overpriced for what you got. We had calamari, bread, meatballs and a pasta dish. The calamari and bread was delicious. We weren't overly impressed by the size, price or taste of the meatballs or pasta. We definitely won't be coming again because of this. However, the staff were a real pleasure

First time visitor today for the Sunday roast. It did not disappoint. Had the trio of meats really good quality, well cooked and large portions. Veg was excellent only thing roast potatoes were very very small and there were only 6 however, still a great Sunday roast.

Booked in for Sunday lunch and was a first time visit for me. Lovely building inside, staff very friendly, attentive and helpful. I had the roast Lamb and it was delicious and all the trimmings were also spot on. Definitely one of the best places for a Sunday Roast in Southampton but you will need to book.

Does not disappoint. Two for one cocktails 17-18, and some amazing cocktails! Aranacini and croquettes were woof delicious. High has to be the veg gnocchi and ravioli. Dessert is a must

First time to Bacaro after a few attempts at booking as it is very popular. I can however see why after a great meal here, all the food was great and the service was extremely attentive. Cocktails were excellent and was a perfect meal to finish off the working year. Highly recommend and we look forward to returning!

I booked this place for my birthday and I can say it is definitely one of the best restaurants in Southampton. Food being the most important, I found they have a variety you don't find in other restaurants. It is a small plates menu so don't expect a huge plate of pasta but quality and taste was very good (especially the arancini balls and sirloin steak). Our waiter was very attentive and the atmosphere of the place was great. Very pleased with their wine too. I would totally recommend.

Reservamos un sábado por la noche, estaba ocupado pero tuvimos una gran mesa después de una espera inicial en el bar. El servidor fue servicial, agradable y proporcionó un excelente servicio. La comida era genial, con cada plato no realmente tapas, pero tampoco un plato principal. Esto nos permitió elegir 4 platos y proporcionó un plato principal delicioso y abundante para dos personas. Pero recomendaría pedir dos o tres platos y luego pedir más platos cuando estén listos, vinieron rápidamente y recién preparados.Disfrutar

I decided my birthday meal would be spent at Bacaro.as soon as you walk in you are greeted with a warm smile and welcome. The bar area is relaxed and friendly and vibrant.For the meal I had the cod, chilli prawns, arrancini and garlic bread. The cod was cooked to perfection, light and tasty. The chilli prawns were just right with the taste and heat. The garlic bread was delightful and not over done. The arrancini were mixed with parmesan and wild mushrooms ... they are a taste sensation !! The wine was red this time and it was light and fruity and complemented the food superbly !! I have absolutely no complaints about the food in fact it was sublime, gorgeous I could go on with how good it was. As for the cost it's not bad in my eyes, you actually have to pay for excellence but it's worth every single penny I paid !!The real stars of this complete gem of a place is the guys and girls who work there. Let's face it they are the make or break of any restaurant. Tonight I was served by the delightful Sophie, always helpful, smiley and completely switched on to what the customer needs are.As I'm into chivalry I am going to say firstly thanks to the girls Sophie, Alex, Shae, Christina, Ana, Billie and Aeofi and the guys Stefannio, Shayne, Celso, Diogo and head chef Greg and his superb kitchen staff for your professionalism and hospitality, keep it up you are all stars in my eyes.Lucy you should be bursting with pride at your team ... well done
