I needed somewhere to have lunch whilst I work and Good Earth was on my list. This place is cosy yet full of character and life. It was busy downstairs so conveniently I went upstairs where I was quieter. My quiche salad was delicious and the atmosphere was perfect. I highly recommend this place for those who want a coffee and a chat with old friends, that’s definitely the vibe I got from the customers.

Although the food was nice, the portions were minute and my entire lunch (for which I paid over £10) had about 300 calories in it (half a pitta bread, two lettuce leaves, a tiny pot of hummus, a few carrot and cucumber sticks and five olives). Fine if you are on a seriously calorie counting diet, but not if you’re looking to feel replete. Atmosphere today: very quiet. No one talking much.

I can’t remark on the meal as my friend and I didn’t stay. I found Pea Souk on the website and we were looking forward to trying it out! We walked through the door and went to sit at the window table which was an EMPTY communal table that would sit 6-8 people. Despite the table being empty the waitress/owner? Indicated that we could only sit opposite each other however one side only had a bench seat and as my friend and I are elderly with back problems we wanted to sit beside each other so that we had a backrest. We explained this and we were greeted with tuts, sighs and raised eyebrows so following this awful reception we left. Only try this place if you don’t mind doing exactly as you are told by an unpleasant woman who doesn’t deserve custom.

First visit for a long while and was looking forward to it but when the cake is so obviously stale it should be disposed of. No complaints with the coffee but at the risk of repeating myself, the coffee and walnut cake was disgraceful.

Lots of space to sit in Screen 4, with small tables where you can put your drink. I don't mind people eating during the adverts and trailers, but, please, not during the film! (Unless you can be really quiet!) The loos are smelly and the reason is almost certainly because the urinals do not flush. They have a disc in place which they think will remove odour but they don't work. Automatic flushing is normally used for urinals, but this wastes water. Much better if a manual flush could be provided.

We went here for lunch as there was to big a queue at the Rainbow End cafe across the road. Blue Note class themselves as a vegetarian and vegan friendly restaurant. Vegan options were extremely limited. Had to ask which options were vegan as was not labelled on the menu as so. Wanted the beyond burger, which I know is vegan but was informed it is fried in the same fryer as cheese. WHY?? Only other options was boring plain sounding salad or a very over priced jacket potato with veggie chillie. Opted for the jacket potato. Turned out to be a very bland tasteless dish. Did not come with any vegan butter. I left most of it as was so bland. Also had a chocolate brownie, but was the only nice part of the meal. Not much customer service going on.. no-one asked how our meal was. Not impressed.. many other better places to go. If you are vegan try the Pyramid which I highly recommend.

I love this Stroud institute! I love the atmosphere and decor and the view from the upstairs seating area is just great. I go here a lot with friends for coffee and cake, lunch and brunch. I have to eat gluten and dairy free and always find something delicious to eat. I would not hesitate to recommend Woodruffs. Last time I went I had a delicious Chai tea in a teapot! Definitely ponts for teapots and then a Citrus Cake which was divine! One of my favourite places in Stroud.
