I don't often enjoy leaving mediocre reviews and it is not something I often do. I often make a bee-line for locations such as this and was hoping for something a little more fulfilling. I had a strange interaction with the very young lady working, that was mostly my fault due of my dry sense of humour, which I did apologise for as it might have been a language barrier or the thought that I might have been being rude but the response was less than enthusiastic and accepting - that is just the way that it goes with me, I find. My friend and I did not feel to enthusiastic about the food when we arrived, not because it would not have been nice but the two microwaves did put me off and I just feel that the lady was going to just put together the food as per instructions. We settled for a coffee, which was weak in flavour and the cutlery smelt of dirty water, sometimes the case when the filter in the dishwasher isn't cleaned. I am probably used to a different level of vegetarian restaurant and frequenting Totnes often, I probably have a high bar, so I do apologise for the poor review. We did have a splendid chat with a lady from Hong Kong who was intrigued by my interaction with the waitress and the nuances of culture and language.

On arrival asked for coffee to be told they closed in 20 mins but they could do one. Ordered cake. Coffee appeared then told lady making cake was still practising and the cake was very dry. Now sat with coffe - decent and no other options other than flapjacks.

I regularly come here as it’s a cafe that supports the local area through its social mission. They provide lovely service and the food is always delicious.

Called in for a coffee and snack while shopping. Was surprised by the quality of the coffee and the food. Very friendly staff and will certainly go there again. Do not be put off by the vegetarian lable, the menu is not massive but neither is it limited. You will find something you fancy whether or not you are a vegetarian.

A little walk away from the Angel shopping place this little gem serves home made soups, curry, risotto and more ! The soup (cauliflower and halloumi) was delicious!!! Great coffee too and lovely sounds of jazz in the background. Part of a film club and creative arts studio. Will return. Also internet available - 30minutes for free.

I had an absolutely scrumptious veggieburger at the Engine Room today. A feast for the eyes and tastebuds with a variety of colourful salad veg really made my day. Coffe was excellent too. Service with a smile as always. Thank you.

I eat here every Tuesday, I am gluten and dairy intolerant and can always find something interesting and tasty to eat. Soups are cheap and hearty, stuffed peppers my current favourite. Food changes regularly and is always good value. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely curry - served by a delightful lady. Vegan food is easy here, so surprised to find this in Bridgwater.

If you visit Bridgwater , somerset and would like some refreshment and catch up your internet work. Then pay a visit to a little café bar with outside tables just on the High Street, along from the Town Hall, Lovely coffees at sensible prices and snacks and fresh homemade soups, no fuss, just a little café bar to sit for a while If you have a bicycle its fine outside so you can keep your eye on your transport, and also a good place to discuss arts using digital media , they hold courses throughout the year , on photography and even cartoon/ animation. Working with all ages and skills. Very friendly helpfull people.

Used to come here a lot back in summer 23 but unfortunately it's not as good as it used to be, still decent range of beers but our chicken wasn't as good, a bit tough and chewy 😞

Good food as always, but…the menu doesn’t highlight vegetarian options accurately. I queried a pizza with rocket pesto (vegetarian hard cheese as opposed to parmesan) - the waitress had to check then returned confirming the presence of parmesan. I then commented that in that case it wasn’t vegetarian. There was also a starter with burrata that had a ‘v’ next to it but I have yet to find a vegetarian version of this cheese.

I like Blackmore Farm tearooms usually but today service was poor. Ordered 2 flat white coffees both lukewarm. Also ordered 2 cream teas, since when does a ceram tea come with no tea? If the assistant had said I needed to order tea separately I would have. I'd finished my scone before knowing. Spoilt the experience.
