If your local to this place and have never visited, then you are missing out, lovely friendly atmosphere, staff are very friendly and welcoming, food is very good, nice little hide away.

Really lovely pub with great food. Prices are reasonable but it’s the staff that get the full 5 stars from me. Thank you the manager, didn’t get his name but he went above and beyond for us.

We were served promptly and the staff were vey friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. We will look forward to coming back.

Very attentive staff and good food

I have been staying in the Premier Inn which is next to The Hobbs Boat all week. Tonight is my last night. The standard of food, level of service and friendly atmosphere has been absolutely FANTASTIC! Mike is such a character, running the bar and service with professionalism and a smile. The rest of the team, Jess, James, Katy and Poppy have been truly fantastic. Thank you! X

Stopped in to have a quick drink but after a little wait got told as it's mother's day the bar is not open only table service and we had to leave Just great for a pub no bar how are they still open

Avoid the Sunday roast my son had the smallest piece of turkey I've ever seen no bigger than a 50p piece plus the cabbage was rock hard

Generally one of the better Whitbread/Brewers Fayre style venues. It is a bit far to travel for us but the food generally seems to be prepared by a chef that cares about what they are serving so we are regular visitors.

It was very nice the only thing that put us off was it was freezing cold in there with no heating and hadn't to keep our coats on while eating.

Had a great New Year’s Eve meal with the family including an energetic 2 year old who was settled by staff who kindly let her have a colouring book. The food was all delicious and well presented and very reasonably priced. Will be back in the new year to try other things off the menu. Highly recommended great staff food and atmosphere

A truly welcoming atmosphere with wonderful food and service! Our Boxing Day 2024 couldn't have been any better than celebrating at The Hobbs Boat in Lympsham!! The staff here are amazing. They are welcoming, friendly and the food and service was first class.

I would NOT recommend the Hobbs Boat . In Nocember 24 we booked for a Boxing Day menu for my daughters 40th birthday .we just recieved a call at 1.45 pm today ( 24.12.24 less than 2 days before the booking ) to tell me that can't do the boxing day menu we booked, which was for my daughters 40th birthday . Absolutely disgusting service !

Where do I start my family and I went for food to celebrate Christmas and a birthday we got there and a lady took us to are table she then comes with menus and all was fine then a man come over with more menus and we said oh we already have menus he then walks off and had a go at the lady saying stay over there in a very nasty tone we put drink orders in and waited at least 25-30 for drinks and they even forgot the only hot drink we ordered we asked how long are hot drink would be and the lady went to find out another 10-15 minutes go by no drink so we ask again and then they bring it to us bear in mind they still hadn't taken are food orders so went to order we was given a list of things they didn't have and we expected that there delivery hadn't come in and we went ahead and order some had Sunday roast some had other food the Sunday roast come out and well for the price you would think the food would be bigger mine was the same size as the kids ones and gammon was dry like it had been sitting under a hot lamp anyway we had are food some had finished and some hadn't the lady and even the man come back 3 times in a small time span asking if they can take plates only thing they had been fast about the hole time and each time we said no as others where still eating and then we thought why not treat are self to some pubbing and again we put are orders in and I went with the sticky toffee pubbing thinking it's just sponge toffee and a bit of ice cream NO WHERE DID IT SAY THAT IT WASNT THAT but it come out I took a spoon full and seen a raisins or something in the raisin family I called the lady over and asked if there was raisins inside the pubbing she then went to the kitchen and come back and said FOR LEGAL REASONS I CANT CONFORM IF ITS A RAISINS OR some sort of dried fruit and she then said would you like to look at the allergies list well it's to late now I have eaten some already I then asked why doesn't it say on the menu that it have some sort of dried fruit in side it and her word's good point I don't no and after this happened they all stayed very far away from are table and we had to find one of them to get the bill even tho the pub was empty was wondering why the place was empty on a Sunday think I no why now never again not even a apology from anyone all they did was take the pubbing off the bill oh sorry for legal reasons they can't confirm if they have nearly killed someone or not with there food Just to add we only went to this place because rosewood and all other good pubs was fully booked with we all just had fish and chips in the car at least they no how to tell people about allergies and are fast at doing stuff

In a word....AWFUL! The front of house staff were the only good thing about our experience! We waited 45+minutes for our starters, they were pretty good. We then waited another 30+minutes for our mains. Unfortunately we can't say they were worth the wait!! Steak came out well done instead of medium. Our festive turkey roasts were cold. We then waited another 20+ for them to be redone, only for them to come out hot in the middle but cold around edges. Staff discounted our mains but the evening was ruined. We opted not to even try dessert. Staff couldn't have been nicer or more apologetic however we will be giving this pub a wide berth from now on.

Went for lunch here today and was looked after by Dave, who was brilliant. Not only a great service but also entertained. The food was great too. This will take some beating!

Waited over an hour for our food.

Really lovely experience dining here. The service was incredible. The food was great and there is a vast majority of food to suit all taste buds. We visited at a quiet time so the courses came out a little quicker than wanted, but that is a better scenario than having to wait a while! All in all a great place to dine. I will definitely be visiting again

Great value, especially for the money. All was well prepared, presented, tasty & filling, one of the better Sunday Roasts we have eaten. We asked if the beef could be medium to rare & were lucky enough that they were able to oblige. Do add really helpful staff to the aforementioned accolades.

We go every friday for over a year now with my grandparents and the staff are always so friendly, service is always great and the food for the price is really good with lots of choice. Highly recommend.

Food was good but unwashed cutlery and very poor service and hardly any sweets

Very decent pub/ restaurant on the main road from Weston super Mare to Bridgwater. Very friendly service and enthusiastic clientele who all looked like they were enjoying their food, and that's a good sign. Only quibble is lots of beer taps with nothing connected to them, only one ale being available when we visited.

Good choice of food options available. Service at breakfast time was slow. Apparently there was confusion over the table numbers and my food took forever to arrive (after I complained).

Went to The Hobbs Boat for dinner on Saturday 5th and was served by Michael. We arrived earlier than our reservation but as it was quiet they accommodated our early arrival which was appreciated. Michael really made the experience wonderful- very attentive service with exceptional wit and humour. Next time I’m down the way I’d be sure to pop by again as the food was great.

This was my first time to hobs boat and was greeted by a very friendly waitress called Maisie who was an absolute delight and then mike the manager who then came over to ask if we were happy with everything to which we were. I would definitely come back when next in the area as the food was very enjoyable and well cooked.

Visited on a Saturday night. Thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s our favourite place in Weston for a family meal. The staff are so lovely and friendly, and nothing is too much trouble. The steak was absolutely delicious and it is all very reasonably priced. There is a nice atmosphere as it has a proper restaurant feel but casual at the same time. It’s nice there is ample parking so close by and it’s all on the flat for those less abled.

Was very skeptical about coming here as we saw a bag of mixed reviews but we was not disappointed. Brilliant service from Ross. Me and my mom had a burger, my dad went for a steak and there was no complaints! Very enjoyable. Thanks for making our half way stop to Cornwall a delight!

I normally like this place however lately it seems to be going down hill i know places change their menus but this place has knocked off 2 desserts a start and a drink i have so i can no longer buya starter or a dessert i like and the portions have also gotten really small i mean my freind ordered a smothered chicken which theyve had beforeand it was great but now it was so small it was barely noticeable! Plus theyre 'vegetarian/vegan' range is also very limited like one item per section of the menu, is that it? Dont know if theyre losing money or something but it seems to be one sacrifice after another which is a shame coz i used to love coming here but now i dont think i can order anything i like ciz of limitations but yeah thats my review sorry hobbs boat but youve lost me as a customer. 😔

We have been regulars here for a while, but a total shambles this morning. After 30 minutes, our order was taken (table of 3, 2 adults and a child). They brought out our sons order, then we waited for our food another half hour. Upon asking where our food was, they told us the order was just for a child??? Won't be returning and will be telling everyone we know not to go there again.

We went and booked a table for the evening for a table of 4. We booked the table at lunch time we had a drink and the guy gave us a menu to see what they had on in the evening. Watched him book the table on the computer 6pm on 22nd August 2024. We arrived at our scheduled time to then be told we hadn’t booked and the guy said I never booked you in so you are not getting a table. He was very rude and disrespectful to my family. I would never return to this establishment ever again even the gentleman behind us walked out because of how we was treated. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

Return visit after our last visit was a year ago when we were let down after another booking elsewhere had a power cut and closed their kitchen so we booked here online 20 minutes before we arrived with family of 6 . We were greeted politely with warm smiles on our arrival and shown to our table and given our menus straight away. It did take a while for our drinks order to be taken, and i did get up and go to the bar to be told table service only ! I wanted some drinks while we looked at the menu, but we had to wait, and they took our drinks order when they came to take our food order, which was a bit of a wait ... Food and drinks were good but did take a while to arrive, but there were a few tables of diners waiting for their orders. On the whole we had a good meal, perfectly cooked and very tasty. We had a "meerkat meals" discount code, so our meal was excellent value. The pub , a Whitbread Inn , is warm and inviting right next to a premier Inn rooms. There is plenty of parking and some blue badge spaces out front. The toilets were good and well signposted. We did all enjoy our meal and will call again when we are next in the area.

Had a table booked but was turned away due to being full so completely pointless booking had too leave with two hungry little girls very disappointed.

Found the meal deal that came with my hotel stay great value for money (though my company did pay for it). The mixed grill was a good proportion and the gammon even had a bit of crackling on it that was done just right. The staff was very friendly. I would like to be able to pop their names down to praise their good work, especially considering the heat, but I think all the staff helped at one point. The young lady being trained was polite and friendly, following the lead of the gentleman showing her the ropes.

We followed previous reviews and went for Sunday lunch. Upon arrival we were rudely told they did not open for 15 minutes. We waited outside. We then ordered two Sunday roasts and a mixed grill. Watch out for the menu we were charged the price of the roast plus £1.50 each for three extra meats, but I only had similar portions to the others in our party. They forgot to bring one of the extra meats, As they also did with the other two tables who ordered at the same time. Overall the meat was cold, the potatoes were cool and cooked from frozen. The chicken on the mixed grill was burnt. A very poor Sunday roast.

Nice place and must say very friendly and welcoming staff. However the food could do better. I had the gammon and the portion was very small for what you pay could do with a few more chips as wasn’t many. Nice location and nice inside clean and presentable.

Five of us went lunchtime yesterday had a issue booking but when we got there a table was available. Sloppy service so long winded dirty stick table and chips on our meals were terrible. We were going to have dessert but due to poor service decided to leave early. We are regularly but will think twice about going again unless there's a improvement. Being a whitbread manager myself in the past I would be ashamed to have this going on in my establishment. Very disappointed

Good offers on food...maybe not heat the sauces for so long so they come out dry. Service a bit slow to wait for drinks and food. Staff friendly.

The service was the only positive thing about our visit. We visited on Father's day so we were aware that it may have been a wait for food. However, we waited almost an hour and most of the food was overcooked. The best way I can describe it was that it felt like the chef had lost the love for cooking. On top of that, it was so busy that it felt very close and claustrophobic. We have visited many times but most recently it has been awful.

Service by an older gentleman whose name now eludes me was stellar. The food was as to be expected from the price range (the steak was quite gristly but otherwise cooked well) Atmosphere was nothing special but also as to be expected.

Very disappointing visit. Service slow. Quality of food was poor, giving the impression that much of it was reheated. Also wasn't as described in the menu with for instance brioche substituted with plain bread, missing salsa. Worst meal of our week. Cannot recommend.

We had the early bird menu with added starter. Superb value for money. Great service fron the staff. A great place to stop enroute home from holiday.

Called in on the off chance for a table for 4. Greeted by the manager who showed us to our table. Seemed very quiet for a Bank holiday Monday, but over heard that they are fully booked. Food was very good and arrived hot. Couldn't decide between two puddings so the manager said he would surprise me. Over all a nice pleasant pub.

Got told they were fully booked at 5pm. Place was empty! Their first available table booking was after 7pm. Not going to drink in an empty pub for 2 hours so that I can eat later.
