Blue Note Cafe in Mendip

Lovely place to come for food. Space to eat inside and out back in the courtyard. Toilets are funny as you have to ask for a code to a little shack, but adds to the vibe of the place. Food is good and staff are friendly! Ended up popping in twice in one day as their coffee was recommended also.

Always friendly and nice! Very accommodating and delicious food. Very reasonable prices and great location. In warmer weather it’s lovely to sit outside too.

Two of us had falafel burritos, the other a beetroot burger, all with seriously crisp chips. Very tasty, freindly helpful staff, would really recomend!

Fantastic lunch,simply best veggie establishment been to .warm genuine welcome from Abbie who reeled off z long list of hot choc options...,finally drawing breath for "malteserz cream and flake."So no choice -,simply had to bre.(..& proved to be simply the best ever). ! Partner wowed by cheese nachos snd veggie chilli(extra jalapeños?.."..no problem"... My haloumi wrap and chips( calories mitigated by trluly fresh salad and proper coleslaw and beetroot. Setting,between typical Glastongury shops and on the high Street,with lovely back yard. Pretty darned perfect! Thankyou ladies.

Stopped here on Glastonbury for coffee and cake. Very friendly staff and atmosphere. Nice cakes and well made coffee. Cafe was 100% vegetarian and the menu looked inviting. Well worth a visit if you're in Glastonbury.

Fabulous cafe, always has been. Food and drink are always solid and the staff come across as being highly motivated and enthusiastic despite also seeming permanently busy!

I came here while looking for a place that did breakfasts, other cafes didn't have that appeal for some reason, I didn't realise at the time it was vegetarian breakfasts but glad I had it, was lovely... Speaking of lovely, so we're the staff... There is a comment in the reviews about being called my darling or my lovely whilst being served that it offended that person... Stop being such a snowflake... That's glasto way baby yeah, genuinely nearly every shop it's the same response. These ladies in this cafe do everything right I will certainly go back again so thank you ladies your all blooming delightful and do a fantastic job, food and drinks spot on. Shame this is in Glasto, because I would be going here all the time else.

This is our favourite place to eat. The food is really super ,and the cook really cares that you enjoy it. The best potato wedges in the world ! Generous portions of everything. A seating area in the courtyard where you can enjoy watching the splendid selection of people to be seen in Glastonbury town. As visitors its always a big part of our Glastonbury experience.

We call in this cafe for a coffee we was so impressed with the staff and service we went back for lunch the staff was fantastic thanks you made our day 😀 😊

I was in the cafe recently and found the staff to be quite insulting, calling me darling in an offhand manner. I had gone in for tea and cake in a pleasant environment and did not expect to be treated this way. If staff can’t be respectful to customers then they shouldn’t be working there. Please be aware.

Great place for food and drink staff where lovely and food was really good

A gem. Stumbled across Blue Note when looking for a quick bite to eat that was dog friendly. Really liked it, lovely food, nice people you can chat with, great atmosphere. Would definitely pop back whether just for a cuppa, some cake or something more substantial. Our dog got a couple of biscuits too, so he was happy.

We popped in for lunch and had potato and leak soup. The quality of the food and service were excellent.

First visit to Glastonbury and first visit here. Cakes are awesome. Fell in love with Turmeric Latte! Great atmosphere. When I spoke to a woman, presumable the boss about the atmosphere. She replied saying its like 'poor man's theatre'. Everyone gets a warm welcome, a smile and nothing seems to be too much trouble. Lovely secluded courtyard behind. We went back two days later for more of the same and were not disappointed.

Paid for restaurant price but felt like dine in in fast food restaurant 😂 not sure it's because atmosphere or what . Not judging, just telling my feelings. Well...it's ok if you just need somewhere like Costa to seat down for food tho.

Never been here before and only popped in for coffees as it was raining! The coffee's were lovely and the staff were all delightful, friendly and happy!

First of all the tattooed barista deserves a raise! Her coffee skills are second to none and her customer service exceptional!!! She brought the life and soul to the cafe on a very busy period!! She sold us the specials which were very under priced for the obviously local quality. This girl is the reason to come for coffee in Glastonbury

Local man decided to start using this as breakfast spot, only to be snapped at by the owner. Thought oh perhaps just a bad day, then it kept on happening to me and not other customers. Wish I knew what it was and not have to write this. A sad experience!

Just eaten here and here is my honest, and stern, review. Firstly, zero customer service, no welcome, no “Enjoy your meal”, and no “Thanks for coming” as we left. Literally nothing. In fact, my whole group felt like undervalued customers despite spending quite a decent amount of money between us. The food, after waiting at least 30mins (even though 2 meals were literally a salad), the food arrived. In fairness, despite the long waiting time, the food was visually appealing, and improved our morale, which had dropped substantially at that point. The food was ‘okay’, nothing special, and for the prices, especially the salad, not worth it really. With the burger, you get a portion of chips at the colossal number of 5 (6 max), which was incredibly underwhelming. In conclusion I want to end by saying this cafe was overpriced and lacked in customer service, but the food was ‘okay’, despite the portions being questionable. 2/5.

This is my 4th visit ,it seems to be always the same here ,loud mouth waitress bellowing away at the counter rather spoils what could be a nice cafe ,food and coffee are good , and service is or has been fairly quick.

What a lovely place to eat. Friendly staff and the food was exceptional, and its dog-friendly inside and out too... and we had three with us !! We opted for the halloumi salad, and a side of cheesy chips each and though we were hungry I think our eyes were bigger than our stomachs !! The various homemade salads were amazing, I especially liked the potato salad, and the various pasta salads. The halloumi was cooked to 'melt-in-your-mouth' perfection. Nowadays its hard to find a good vegetarian meal. let alone an exceptional one but this definitely fell in to to exceptional category. We will be telling all out friends and family about you !! Definitely recommend.

Amazing lunch, I'm not a big salad fan but the houmous one was amazing as you can see by the picture, the best I've ever had. The energy and positive vibe of the staff though makes this place next level, their customer service was exceptional but I was smiling listening to them how they greeted other customers whilst I was eating my food outside in a great surrounding. Their positive vibe and attitude is infectious, really stand out and a joy to behold. If ever I return to Glastonbury I'd have no hesitation in going back there, it is fully deserving of a five star review. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We've been here a few times now and the friendliness and great service never changes... it's a great place for lunch.

I came to this cafe over 30 years ago and it was fantastic then, my Dad always had a coffee while we shopped, he said it was the only place that chilled him out! 30 years on,I took my family there,and to great delight,it was still fantastic! The staff, food and cake was delicious! Keep up the good work ladies!!!By far the best cake and coffee I have ever tried!

Best cafe in Glastonbury! The staff are so welcoming and couldn’t do enough for you. Me and my partner was a bit late for breakfast but the staff was more than happy to make us something off the breakfast menu. Very friendly place and you get a warm feeling when spending your time in there. Food is very fresh and tasty and the coffee is really good.

Popped in for what I expected would be just a regular 'nothing special' cafe lunch to get out of the cold wind and a quick bite to eat whilst shopping. Was blown away by how amazing the food was. The vegetarian lasagne was honestly the best I have ever had, amazingly tasty. We also had the Jackfruit wraps and a Mac and cheese and it was all beautifully presented and lovely. The staff were so welcoming and super friendly. Will definitely make sure we visit again the next time we are in Glastobury.

Always the best place local! Great food and drink made well and professionally! Gorgeous atmosphere and in the heart of a great town! Only downside is one members of staff don't seem to wear a belt and well we all know what that means...just a little off putting

I visited last week and was appalled by the service. I asked for a wet latte and was served what I can only describe as a cappuccino. After I asked for it to be remade the loud girl behind the bar (didn’t catch her name but was petite with tattoos) aggressively told me my drink was made how it should be. I don’t think it’s too much to ask for my drink to be made exactly how I like. Will not be returning and I’d advise anyone else to use one of the many other cafes in the area

We have been coming to Blue Note at least for 20 years, it does not disappoint! It has changed hand few times - but staff is always pleasant and accommodating. Good coffee, clean and fair priced - That's all we need! Thank you :)

The first thing I noticed was how kind , helpful and friendly the staff were. There was such a great choice of beverages and I can highly recommend the Mince Pies! Good location.

Absolutely amazing place, gave me the info for the schnitzel burger (as I have an egg allergy) and even though I had just cycled from Bristol and looked rougher than a bag of rusty nails, they gendered me correctly (she/her) and were friendly. As always (been here many times in the past) the food was absolutely stellar, coffee was delicious and the atmosphere was lush. Best cafe in Glastonbury! 💜 PS - I totally came for the burger specifically, so thank you got making sure there was no egg in it for me! 💜

Lovely food, staff and service, we combed the town before landing here as we're vegans and it was def the right choice. ceiling fan, courtyard garden and open front door meant very tolerable temps, even in this super hot time. Highly recomme ded...try the felafal salad, you wont be disappointed!

Covid cry your heart out.. you didn't break the spirit of Glastonbury or these hardworking people. May they prosper well in the coming year. Lovely vegetarian food to order, friendly staff make you feel like part of a family, loyalty card, good background music.... Recommend them to everyone I meet. I try to come here every time I visit, absolutely love it. The employees are friendly and helpful, you always feel welcome and when the weather is nice you can sit out in the courtyard to eat. It’s just a lovely little café.

I was surprised to see so few vegan options on the menu for a vegetarian café. However what there was is good quality (assuming you aren't vegan!) and fresh. Hopefully when we visit next time they'll be a refreshed menu

Superb freshly cooked food. Not an extensive menu but those sweet potato fries are dangerously good! Excellent coffee including flavoured. Small out door seating area with a slight waft of incense from nearby shops. Dog friendly and very reasonable prices for a tourist heavy town. Fully accessible for disabled buggys and chairs.

I’ve been coming here for 20yrs. This is the first time in ages I’ve had a veggie cheese burger. It was TINY !! The burger and bun was half the size they used to be, literally a sprinkling of cheese and a slice of tomato and cucumber. Paid extra for cheese and garlic Mayo too ! Very disappointing indeed. No one likes being ripped off.

Veggie chilli nachos were delicious, my wife had the falafel wrap with chips, which got a thumbs up too. Good selection of local ales and ciders. The rear courtyard is the place to sit if you can get a table.

Nothing on the menu is listed as vegan which I find strange in this day and age, especially in a place like Glastonbury. We asked if they did a vegan breakfast and were told that they could make the veggie breakfast vegan. It was was very nice to be fair (3 vegan sausages, 3 hash browns, grilled tomatoes, beans, mushrooms and granary toast with vegan spread) and we ate it outside in the lovely little courtyard. We also had freshly squeezed orange juice which was delicious and the staff were very friendly but the bill came to almost £25 which we thought was way too expensive.

Excellent vegetarian/vegan menu. We were lucky enough to find a table outside on the small terrace to the rear of the shops and cafe with the sun shining down in June. Orders were taken inside at the till and the atmosphere was very laid back...

What a great vegetarian cafe The Blue Note is! A wide selection of food and drink is available and the atmosphere is great with paintings of musicians on the walls. Nice central location the high street. Highly recommended.

One of the nicest cafes in Glastonbury. Purely vegetarian/vegan, with a wide range on the menu to choose from. Their blue note burger is a must have. Seating is great, you can usually get in even at peak times its nice out the back in the courtyard too. Friendly and helpful staff

Not sure why people moan about it being busy - everywhere in Glastonbury is busy! This is a great little pit stop in the centre of town, right next to the Goddess Temple. It's a shame really that Starchild moved, as you used to be able to smell the incense drifting out from the door while you were having your chips and coffee. Still one of our favourite places to eat when we visit.

I went to The Blue Note Cafe as a vegan and I was told that the menu is 80% vegetarian. I then asked what I could actually eat as this information did not seem to be forthcoming. Anything possibly vegan is cooked in the same frier as cheese.I was told jacket potato was my option but there was no chilli so there was no allowance for vegans, considering the cafe is vegetarian, and in 2020, I thought there may be something!The staff member was rude to me and gave me a sarcastic wave when I was walking by after leaving. I would not recommend even as a vegetarian as the menu is fairly boring fare and hasn't seemingly changed for twenty years.

You can never go wrong here, it's a great place to grab lunch, always have good selection, food is good and portions generous. Lively atmosphere, they also have seating outside in a cute shopping arcade.
