The best restaurants serving Turkish food in England

This was only our second visit and it certainly won’t be our last. The welcome was warm and friendly and we were lucky to get a window table, perfect to watch the world go by on a very busy Easter Saturday. We remembered from our previous visit how generous the portions were so opted to go straight for a main course…..a good move! We enjoyed generous chicken skewers, loads of fresh salad and tasty dips. The service, food, ambiance and bill were all outstanding. Highly recommended.

I had chicken doner roll, the food was good but the when we customise our food they have a hesitation.

My partner and I came here for a pre-show meal on Valentine’s Day. I’m so glad that we did as we were given a warm welcome, great service and the food was delicious. It’s a lovely atmosphere and in a great location. I had the vegetarian moussaka and chocolate mousse and we had some vine leaves to share as a starter. My mouth is watering just thinking about it! Will definitely be back.

Love restaurant with great staff and great food. A party of 6 had a birthday celebration and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience there.

First time we have visited, and we will be back. The free salad, bread and dips were delicious, as was our main course choices. Very good quality and large portions. Great service. 5 stars.

This was a buffet style place with a very limited range. You could keep returning to the buffet but we really didn't want to because the food was decidedly average. Decor is... odd and the staff were lovely.

Visitamos como un grupo de 5 en un viernes por la noche. El restaurante amablemente nos hizo una mezcla fría para la mesa que era muy sabroso y muy generoso en términos de porciones. Apenas tuvimos tiempo de terminarlo antes de que llegara la red. Algunos de nosotros probamos el Guvec de langostinos y el Guvec de verduras, sin embargo, los platos se estaban ahogando literalmente en aceite y a pesar de que vertimos el exceso de aceite en un recipiente separado (que se llenó con la cantidad de aceite que desechamos) , nadie pudo terminar esos platos. El otro plato de verduras en el menú era menos grasoso y el plato de pollo pedido fue bien recibido. El servicio era promedio, pero no se sentía como si les importara si disfrutaste de tu comida o no. Definitivamente hay mejores restaurantes turcos, incluso localmente, así que probablemente no volvería.

Food was excellent, service very good, decent size portions, reasonably priced, will definitely return. One of Carlisles best.

Our favourite restaurant!!! I can’t recommend Ottoman enough, their staff are outstanding. Their food is delicious. Their portion sizes are huge. Everything they make is fresh and it has an open kitchen. Their cocktails are amazing!! Everything about the place we all love and we have been going here for years. My favourite dish is Turkish delight which is thinly sliced lamb that is cooked infront of you and served at the table. You can tell the food is made with love. They do deals too but their pricing isn’t bad for the amount of food you get. Love love loveee this place 🩷
